I want to be truthful and courteous to the people who work in this building; the problems my neighbors and I are facing has just reached a boiling point. Today, I witnessed a young girl screaming and crying in the lobby: "he pinned me down and started hitting me." She's referring to a resident on our floor; the ninth. I have been here almost 5 years and anyone in this building knows exactly who I am talking about. You know, the one who's been in a dozen brawls on nearly every floor of this building. The extensive damage, the 4am rap battles, the exploded fire extinguishers, the blood on the walls, feces on the floor..you read that correctly. There's also the revolving door of crying women. But the cops come. There's chit chat. And he stays... and then another fight happens..for everyone to see. Everyday it's something new. He's terribly consistent. Management is shaky to take any decent action- citing a COVID tenant bill (really?) (also: read the bill...has nothing to do with this). I suppose the word 'problem' would be an understatement. He's a plague with complete disregard for his fellow neighbors and we DO NOT feel safe on this floor anymore. It's been a year now and we're exhausted in complaining about the matter. To my question: how long is management going to turn a blind eye before something really happens?

Landlord does not maintain building like at all. Elevators constantly down, air conditioning cuts out when it’s hot and is so noisy the apartment is essentially uninhabitable when it’s on, laundry is frequently out etc. interior finishes and appliances aren’t great. Management staff has to be pestered to do anything like send you a copy of the lease and fix things in common areas. Last year they hiked my rent 11% with no notice (they claimed the slid a letter under the door but it was never received). The 11% was only if I signed another 12 month lease; 25% increase if I stayed on a month to month. Counting the days until me lease is up in six months.

I've only be here for a month and it seems the management is not doing a good job. Package addressed to me was returned because the list of tenant the security guard use does not contain my name. The package never made its way back to the sender though. Waiting to see how this issue would be resolved.

Good people from the management office including the security guards and maintaness ppl. If you like the urban living, this is the right place you want to move in. parking is just right next to the building plus this is the historical building in Downtown LA.

I have lived in my loft for a little over a year now and I am dying to get out of here. I moved into this building because-at the time- it was inexpensive compared to other trendy lofts downtown. I like the security, obviously, and the parking isn't too bad but it is expensive and can get full during events. The loft itself is a cool space- my loft has five 7ft-tall windows and and a nice sized bathroom. Here are my problems: 1. The windows are single-paned-which means even if they are closed, you can hear all downtown noise loud and clear. I have been on the phone with people in my loft and they comment on how loud it is. I remind them all of my windows are closed. One of my windows won't even stay closed because the lock doesn't work. I haven't reported it to maitinece because there is only one person capable of fixing all of the problems in the building, which brings me to my second complaint... 2. Management: The people who run this building are useless idiots. They never do anything they promise to do for their tenants. I'll give you an example, someone had been trying to reach me but my phone wasn't working, so they called management and asked if they could slip a note under my door. Sounds like a simple task, especially for someone who promises to make every tenant's stay as enjoyable as possible. I never got a note under my door, and when I ran into one of the leasing managers two weeks later he let me know someone was trying to reach me. The matinence guy at the building is very nice and works hard when he is here but it takes a while for him to get around to everyone. My smoke alarm has been chirping at me for two days now, and when I reported it to the morons at the front desk, I was promised they would get to it "As soon as possible." 3. The lighting sucks. There are are two lights above my kitchenette and one in the bathroom-that's all. There is also not enough storage space (cabinets/shelves). 4. And yes, people leave dog ---- all over the place. Some tenants will even leave boxes and trash by the elevator. In summary, my two major problems are the noise and the management. Also, the building doesn't seem to be well insulated, as I can hear my neighbors having sex twice a day. When the artwalk is going on, don't expect to go to sleep at a decent hour. Before I moved here, I read the reviews and thought that people were just venting because they were upset at something that happened to them that made them snap. That is, essentially, what I am doing mainly because I am going insane with this smoke alarm chirping at me 2-3 times per minute! Would I recommend it: NO But: It is a secure building, they have a WiFi room, an exercise room, an entertainment room with a large TV, a pool table, and it is close to the fashion and art districts.

I have lived here for about 6 months. So far i am content with the building overall. The major complaints i have are noise and pet owners. I live in a unit facing the parking garage and the street level noise is too much for me to handle. Almost every visitor i have comments on the high noise levels from the large trucks and constant sirens. If i were to guess i would say a good average for fire truck or police siren is about once per hour, nights included. Can management outfit building wiht douple pane or sound proof windows? Second complaint is pet owners, I love animals but the owners of many of the animals in the building are not responsible and leave pet urine and fecies around the building and in the alley between the building and parking lot. I almost stepped in a pile of fecies on my floor and the same pile was not cleaned up for at least two weeks! Love pets but not their "gifts".. Overall, cool building to live in if you dont mind noise. I would renew my lease if above issues were addressed. Have 6 more months and am looking for a quieter building to move to after lease is up..

I do not recommend the Security Lofts. While there are minor perks, the cons far outweigh the benefits. The leasing tour puts on a good show, but once you sign the lease, watch out! The manager and leasing agents are unprofessional, untrained, and incompetent. Agent did poor job of explaining leasing terms and did not know how to do a walk-through. Staff acted passive-aggressively when we gave them a poor evaluation. We've had leaks in our loft 4 times in the past 9 months. Our neighbors have had similar leaks. Maintenance is understaffed. There was a 2X2 hole in our bathroom which took 4 months to get fixed. Hallways and elevators are frequently dirty. The loft with windows closed is so entirely noisy. Sirens, trash trucks, car horns, people talking. Don't expect to sleep past 7am on the weekends and 6 on the weekdays. Noise all through the night from people coming out of bars, even on weekdays. During Art Walk, parking and driving in the area is a nightmare. It gets especially noisy with several bands going on the street at once some nights. Tenants leave dog pee and poo in hallway. Owners do not pick up dog poo near parking structure-terrible stench and watch where you walk on trips to/from parking structure. Parking is expensive ($150/month per car, no assigned parking) and forget about having guests unless you want to spend $5 per guest/day $14 overnight. Like I said, they put on a good show in the beginning, but its not worth the money, even with a good deal.

1. if you fill out their annual review, enticing you with their free breakfast, money giveaways, its a way to increase your rent by 30%, only if you gave them a good positive review. 2. the thin 1/8" thick of single glazing does nothing to reduce noise, and heat. 3. the maintenance staff could not fix the leak from the unit above twice. 4. intense odor of dog feces can be obsorbed entering/exiting the parking garage. 5. some of the tenants are paying nearly half of what i'm paying.

No matter how many people have moved in and out, we've always had a problem with noisy neighbors. Living in a unit facing inside (towards other units) has proved to be more disruptive than living in one facing the street. Because it's L.A. people naturally will have their windows open, and even if your own windows are closed, the noise definitely carries. Some guys just moved in across the way, but they're so loud you'd think they were in our apartment. I don't know why, but apparently when they're not blasting their dance party mix, they love to have their astute ... profound conversations right by their open window. Philosphers they aren't. I could care less about their mothers or their girls.

They have a new manager named Matthew Spriggs he doesn't care much. Try living there and you'll see what I mean.Talking about plastic, he's plastic as can be.
