Overall a very nice community and place to live in Hollywood. The units are not huge but they have all the amenities you'll need. I specially enjoyed my fireplace. Management was very helpful too. I would definitely recommend them.

My boyfriend and I applied, paid the $50 application fee + $400 holding depost. All of which we are forfeiting due to this property management scam. Property Manager ---- stood us up on our first appointment for viewing the property. That should've been our red flag. But we gave him the benefit of the doubt, and continued the process. Not everyone makes a first good impression right? Wrong. Apparently this guy doesn't make a good first, second, third, or FOURTH impression. Of ALL of the phone calls that we have had (7+), he never picked up during the ring and we would often have to wait 24hours for a call back, IF he even called back. He would email us the "application" without actually having the application attached, or worse, sent us another tenant's signed lease agreement with their information on it. This is how a management company respects the privacy of their tenants & their sensitive information. We were also lied to about the move in special, we were told it expired at the start of the month so we were forced to rush the application only to find out, the promotion is STILL ongoing. All in all this was a total waste of our time and money. We're looking out for YOU so unless you're desperate and love to gamble, I would turn away.

I lived at the Cherokee apartments for almost 4 years. It was a good experience overall. Quiet and respectful neighbors made my apartment a comfortable place for me to work out of home. Close to trendy shopping and hang outs too. Ended up moving out of state for work, otherwise I would have stayed longer. Management was very helpful with any issues. I will surely miss the Hollywood life style.

Nice and quiet community with professional and friendly tenants. Management is very attentive. Repairs are done promptly and the building is neat and clean. I love my fireplace and the privacy of my apartment. Street is fairly quiet and safe to walk my dog at night.

Loved it. Great place to live in Hollywood. I had a beautiful remodeled 1 bedroom with balcony and a cozy fireplace. Friendly neighbors and a diligent manager. Very quiet community for the Hollywood area. Highly recommended.

There is no security at all. There are keys to doors and gates and supposedly cameras...24 hour surveillance... First of all, on one side the fence shared with a small house is super low and that particular small house doesn't have a fence in the front. So anyone can walk in their yard and get easily over that little fence to enter the premises of 1215 Cherokee av. Then I moved in 2 months ago, moved in as a roommate. I still had to fill out the application for the manager of the building, which has all my information. So I m not on the lease but allowed as a roommate. I have a pit mix. My roommate has a Huskey. I see Dobermen in the building. 2 months after I move in, the manager sees me and tells me they have breed and weight restrictions. So he decides to say that after 2 months!!!! According to him my roommate never told him we each had a dog! I thought my roommate did tell him as I made sure to have him check for my dog when I moved in. Regardless if the roommate said this or that. They have camera dayy say!!! I walk mydog 3 times a day. I walk him with the roommate's huskey a lot of times too! They're telling me they didn't see 2 big dogs in and out 3,4 times a day! So aside from the fact that huskeys and dobermen are allowed but no pit mix that could easily be approved if it was a matter of being approved as social and friendly. Aside from that I am telling you people there is no security in that building! Cameras...bogus

To amend my previous review, it seems that perhaps there may have been issues in the past that seem to have been resolved because we did not experience ANY of the issues they brought up. When we moved, we did as they asked in the beginning and we had no problem getting our FULL deposit back in the time frame they specified. The tenants are, for the most part, very nice and quiet. Of course, there are dogs that bark and the occasional overheard conversation in the courtyard, but nothing to get nuts about. I have heard that the left side of our building was the quieter side as the next apartment building over can tend to have rather loud parties that run late from time to time. I never heard anything.

I have lived at the Cherokee apartments for two years, and I have enjoyed living in this building because the neighbors are friendly quiet and the managers are the best. The buildings are well maintained and the area is okay and close to my job. I recommend them.

I've lived at Cherokee Apartments for a little more than a year. I've enjoyed my experience here thus far, with friendly neighbors and great management. I have a one bedroom on the second floor. Best thing: everyone here has some sort of pet, but it's VERY quiet! No pet rent, and a refundable pet deposit. The unit itself is great - needs a few renovations, but the management is extremely accommodating and will fix or replace anything that needs it. I have submitted very few, but when I put in a maintenance request, it's taken care of promptly and professionally. From what I've seen, the management uses the same people to come in and repair or clean out apartments so there aren't unfamiliar faces around the building. Also, the managers check the work and make sure you're happy. The one thing I would recommend for Cherokee Apartments to improve upon, is the grounds. The grass is always cut and looks great, but the inside of the apartment buildings need a little creative sprucing up with trees, plants or flowers. If you're looking for a nice place to live with friendly, quiet neighbors, a great management team, that's decently priced and close to everything, I would definitely recommend Cherokee Apartments.
