Unfortunately I had to find a place fast, so I didn´t really have time to do my homework. I was tipped off however, when I came by to pick up the keys and happened to catch a tenant in the lobby. I asked her how she liked living there-- the best I could get out of her was a smirk.

Let´s cut to the chase: I lived near the elevator and lobby- VERY noisy. People come in at all hours, are loud and are totally unaware that they might as well be standing in your apartment (super thin walls).

Also, the building next door is in close proximity to the La Layenda and the people in that building are very loud [especially the one person who, like clockwork at 11:45 p.m. each night would put on ear phones and sing as loud as he possibly could (john mellencamp tunes- bad voice) disturbing everyone]. Generally speaking, the people in and around the La Leyenda building have no consideration for anyone else.

For parking under the building there is a waiting list, and to use the parking lot across the street is $60/month, assuming they have room for another car.

Good things about the building: Beautiful art deco lobby, surprisingly safe area, pets are ok.

One last thing: I´ve also heard the manager of the building and the owners (?) are really difficult to deal with-- which is evident when, on any given day you’ll find a posted note from one tenant or another complaining about something regarding the building or it’s management (the water is turned off regularly to do repairs, construction noise is LOUD and starts at 7:30 or 8 a.m., etc.)

My advice: Find another building in the area-- there are plenty of nice ones!
