The units in this building are really pretty cool---I had hardwood floors and an amazing bathroom with a deep, deep tub. I only had a bachelor but it was spacious by such standards. Nice views of the surrounding buildings as well.

The big liabilities: parking and the surrounding buildings. Street parking is a nightmare---don't even think about having guests unless they're willing to pay $$ for a parking space. I rented from the city lot for $40 like the other reviewer but it's a long walk up a couple of dicey blocks. And the next-door apartment was just dreadful---cop cars were constantly in front and assorted people were always hanging out outside the building. Overall, not a bad set of apartments but the crappiness of the surrouding area just killed it for me.

The 1BR apartments are enormous by LA standards (900 sq feet). Lots of charm & the common areas are well maintained & nice. However, paper thin walls mean you can hear everyone´s business as though it were your own.

PLUS, the crappy building next door has nasty neighbors that have parties on weeknites & plat music louder than a danceclub.

The neighborhood, in general, while central to many LA attractions is also a little seedy sometimes. I have come home at midnite before & had to walk past young men "hanging out" on the street. The same man several times & once he asked me to "buy" a leather jacket off him for $10.

There is NO parking, but you can park up the block in a public garage for $40/month.

I still think it´s a good building & for the area, a wonderful find....but just be aware of the problems when you look at it.
