Tenant Reviews for 1850 WHITLEY AVE

I've only lived here a few months now but so far have no complaints. Obviously there's been a lot of poor reviews appears they were made during the construction phase which undoubtedly was inconvenient and a nuisance to the tenants but what construction ever is? It's an older mid-century building so people need to have the right expectations for what they are renting. For me, it was about the view. The condition of the kitchen, bathroom, etc did not matter to me as long as things functioned. Parking can be issue for some there are no spots for guests but there are lots within a block or two they can park at. So if that is an issue then this is not the place for you. Almost everyone greets each other in the elevators and is very friendly. There is a broad spectrum of people here so you will get the good and the bad. The pool is almost heated to a jacuzzi temperature which is great for it being out doors. Rarely can I ever hear any of my neighbors on all sides you can hear apartment noise when you're in the hallways but not once inside. The staff is great here I've been treated with nothing but courtesy and respect. Most of them go above and beyond. If you're an easy going person then you will have no issues here. If you nit pick ever small detail, have an unrealistic expectation of what a rental should be, and feel entitled to service on demand then you should look elsewhere but unless you own you're own home you're probably going to have an issue no matter where you go. Two thumbs up for the Ardmore.

It sucks, now the apartment is under new owners. Now if you go to the pool your only allowed two vistors wow how can they in force this policy if the apartment has 80 percent of white people, 2 percent of black people, one percent of brown people, how would the apartment manager know who is who? Really guys what a great trick. if it is a pool of white people how would any one know who is the guest and who is the tenant managers probably would not ask. if the pool was filled up with brown or yellow or black or purple people the managers would want to see ids, the place outside smell like dogs peeing all over the grass, the plumbing sucks, the laundry room is always not clean and the machines or old and broke most of the time, staff don't speak the hallway carpets has big round spots on them dogs run up and down the hall way with no leash smelling every one they come in contact with, people are not friendly, don't understand the maintance men they have working for them they barely speak English, people park in front of the building blocking your entrance to the lot. run I say run far away from this dirty place me and my family also just moved.

Agreed! Both on the reviews and the comments. CIM Group has done a horrible job. Repairs are slow, service is rude, responses are late or commonly indifferent. It's very odd for property management, they almost instigate more trouble with their lack or poor response. Making a simple situation that much more serious when they come across as indifferent and unforgiving. As long as you dont have an issue it is a good place to live. for a young hollywood couple its a great place with great views But if you have a issue the management is really young minded, slow thinking, but still try to pull fast one on the tenants to save money. The place sells itself with the location and the history, so the CIM Group employees are not in the office and don't like customer service at all. They pride themselves in front door security, but they are very passive people that will let anything happen. or don't understand what is happening. They allow huge dogs to go off the leash in the lobby and play like its a park. IF YOU ARE SCARED OF DOGS THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU! OWNERS ALLOW THEIR DOGS TO BE OFF A LEASH in and around the premises. also.... THE SECURITY GAVE MY ADDRESS OUT TO A TENANT I DID NOT KNOW BC THAT TENANT WANTED TO GET TO KNOW ME! SCARY! if you are a female one of them will make passes at you.

The WORST management ever!!!!!! I just moved in a few motnhes ago and read all the negative reviews of the building and assumed it would be tolerable....(the location and move-in availability caused me to be less critical of the aforementioned. Let me start off by saying you can not ignore the incompetence and downright indifference twoards tenants. You can pay your rent early and do everything within your agreement and they will still find a way to not only make your situation as unreasonable as possible, they also will impose fees you never could have predicted. Yesterday they towed my motorcycle for $400 days after negoitiating a spot for my bike. The woman(?) who did this not only is a saquatch of a creature (the resemblance between her and the jolly green giant is uncanny) she claimed it was her spot and acted as if I were some peasent who had some mental deficiency to not only park in the wrong spot but also in HER spot!! I live in the penthouse on the top (12th) floor and have been treated like trash from day 1. I just filled out the parking form 2 days prior, all my info. was on there to mitigate this sort of situation (my phone number was on there in case of mix up.) No effort was made to call me of any sorts this leviathan saw my bike and within half an hour it was gone. I then asked her if she read the reviews of this building and she just said all those who wrote reviews were "idiots, etc." Trust me this may seem like a decent price or whatever but I guarantee you, YOU WILL PAY! Do yourself a favor and walk past this one....better yet RUN!!

This building's problems are matched only by the rudeness of its staff. I lived here for a year and the pipes frequently leak, spilling sewage into my apartment and the hallway. The central air-conditioning stops working when it gets hot and the management goes out of its way to hire the dumbest and rudest security guards they can find. The public health department's inspector found rodent droppings when he visited. And the place is full of asbestos. Caveat Emptor.

All I want to know is who is Olivia ------- that she still has a job there? And whoever it is not ------- her right because she is s miserable ----- who should jump off of the hollywood sign.By far the most unprofessional individual on the planet.

HORRIBLE management!!! STAY FAR AWAY PLEASE!!! -They lie about everything to get you to sign a lease -Horrible neighbors in the building -Maintenance in my apartment is a joke -The front desk security does absolutely nothing at all. Anyone can come up to your apartment if they just say a random apartment number. Why bother having them there?! All they do for me is lose my packages and make me feel like an idiot when I keep asking for them when the guard that I am talking to was the one that signed for my packages in the first place. -EXTREMELY OVERPRICED. -Air vents have not been changed in years. -Management does not return any emails of calls. -I received an eviction threat due to noise complaints when I was not even in my apartment! -The neighborhood noise is SO BAD. All I hear 24/7 is drunk yelling, cars bottoming out and hitting curbs, police sirens, police helicopters every night, etc. -The walls are paper thin!! I can literally hear everything my neighbors do! Which means they can hear me as well! SO CREEPY. -I HATE LIVING HERE!!!! I literally feel like I am trapped in jail. It is ruining my life. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!

Jesus Christ, where do I start?! Alright, so I move in to this building and was so excited by the views and the pretty front entrance. This place is a 100% scam and I want everyone to know about it. -staff members are all rude -promised additional parking upon moving in. NOTHING -walls are paper thin. you can literally hear everything going on next door. Coughing, eating with silverware, low volume conversations...everything! --------- front desk "security." they just sit there and do absolutely nothing but twiddle their thumbs and keep losing your packages you had delivered. -anyone can come up to your apartment if they just say a random apt number-anyone!!! -all the walls are painted as if they didn't even bother to finish it. -the air vents filters have not been changed in years. Disgusting. No wonder I am sick all the time these days. -recieved a eviction notice for a noise complaint when I was not even home!! -extremely noisy street. Tons of traffic accidents and loud screaming partiers. Which makes it absolutely insane to be threatened to be evicted for a noise complaint!! -management does not bother responding to calls and emails -the neighbors are so loud that I feel I should send out complaints all the time. -washer and dryer machines suck! clothes are always still wet. -management sucks!!!! -I am so unhappy living here. I pay way too much to be treated this way. -this place is not a home, I feel trapped.
