As I'm disabled avenue 5 and wyvernwood & Thurman llc have continued a 14 year patter of abuse discrimination, constructive eviction, Harrasment by security, creating obstacles to me getting a service dog, denying me the entire time of heat 10 years without a stove. Interference with quiet enjoyment, Employees and other's smoking within Dnsafe proximity of my oxygen use. (COPD) ENDANGERING LIVES, little compliance with reasonable accommodation, club cuts etc. Terrible abusive mgmt and Employees, etc zaybastian

Lived here all my life and my kids too!! And apartments like these they don't make them like these no more. I live in a 2 bedroom apartment 2 floors with walk in closets, a private backyard, the bedrooms are a good size not like the ones they make now in days. I love how all freeways are literally close to us we are in the middle of everything. I guess since I grew up here I feel safe here like I get home late and not worry the only thing is no parking but that problem is everywhere so just get home early or rent a parking spot and your good!! Plus I love all the room outside for my kids to play at!! I don't have to worry about the street cause plenty of room for them to play ride bikes, just anything, I love the big windows , they might be pricey but like I said Apartments built like these you won't find no where and you can make your apartment look nice I know I did.

TOO MUCH TO COVER wont be able to get to it all. been abused since 2011 ADA violations galore from service dog to wheelchair access. to smoking around my oxygen tanks including employees, and others posing a clear and present danger, interfere with quiet enjoyment, claim There's stove but not for me, they lie and say I don’t want one, they ALWAYS neglect the 5 red tags on both the non existent (11 years) Heat and non existent stove (8 years) they negligent the the co2 ALARM was constantly going off, etc etc, Thurman LCC also constructively evicted me more than once changing my gas to their name etc, changing my locks, leaving bother my broken smashed windows unrepaired for 8 plus months, having security demanded my drivers lic yep no picture ID no repair. before making repairs etc etc. asking me if I was going to cry and call my Momie. The manager would deliberately play with my name and constantly call me Mr. Sucks, despite acting weird and looking high more than once. Asking me about my tuba (i play no instrument) and other bizarre things. said I could NOT use my wheelchair here when I asked where I could I was told t stop being a wise ---. no wooden floors they are what I would call plastic (its in their ad) floors not wood but plastic, no garbage disposal,every time which was multiple I went to the computer center it was closed or I was told by mgmt that it wasn’t working, AND the trouble gets worse. they put enough road blocks impending my progress to getting a service dog I was scared to go outside as I was constantly harassed. security stole my cane and also tried to confiscated my camera and evidence I was collecting. It's a grimy filthy place where my parking lot is covered with bottle caps cigarette butts straws sometimes beer bottles cans etc, Dnsafe for a disabled person as well as an able body person to transverses I have injured myself many many times here. My balance is already terrible and I fall perfectly well without help abuse or negligence. Mold issues, etc, just terrible lousy retaliatory and SCARY! . too MUCH to LIST!

THESE ARE BY FAR THE WORST APARTMENTS EVER!! THEY ARE ROACH INFESTED & BEYOND grimy. THE OFFICE PEOPLE SWEAR THEY AREN'T INFESTED.. THEY SWEET TALK TO YOU BUT NONEOF It's TRUE. THEY ARE GROSS & NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN. YOU ARE SANDWICHED BETWEEN IGNORANT TENANTS COMPETING WITH THEIR SOUND SYSTEMS ALL ----EN DAY WITH DISGUSTING MUSIC TILL 2AM & KIDS CAN'T SLEEP! WYVERNWOOD APARTMENTS UNDERHANDED TACTICS FORCE OUT RESIDENTS Boyle Heights, CA July 9, 2013: Wyvernwood is pushing hard to transform their apartments into condos and won't accept refusal. Wyvernwood maintains a troubling pattern of removing residents who get in their way according to -------------- of El Comite De La Esperanza, the tenant advocacy group. Estimates suggest more than 300 unlawful evictions have taken place under the watch of the current mgmt. Our 3-day notices ended up in the garbage and we narrowly escaped wrongful eviction on four separate occasions. Promotional materials without official company letterhead and no signatures circulate widely. They tout promises of $18K payments for relocating and pledges to preserve the residential community spirit. And you get a complimentary magical unicorn as well, quips ----------, a veteran resident who has filed numerous discrimination grievances against them. Their marketing operation is extremely sophisticated and two independent lawyers concur, such paperwork holds no legal standing. If Wyvernwood genuinely meant these commitments, they would execute legitimate agreements signed by authorized mgmt officials and deliver copies to all tenants personally. but, they won't do this because it's merely window dressing. Based on what I've witnessed, remarks ----------, residents will receive nothing; they're simply going to eliminate us individually. Wyvernwood has a reputation for planting paid actors to participate in gatherings and municipal hearings. They manufacture a false perception that residents back the development when actual surveys indicate otherwise. A petition forwarded to Council Member ----------- surpassed the entire number of residents living here. How could there be way more supporters than actual tenants? When Wyvernwood references having spirit, they mean it literally—apparently phantoms are voting for their plan. Three armed guards in body armor patrol constantly, operating police-style vehicles, carrying batons and displaying hostile demeanor. They function as an oppressive tool deployed to silence ----------- speaking residents, says ----------. They resemble immigration agents rather than the courteous patrol they advertise themselves as. We can't retrieve our laundry or groceries without threat—they're prepared to issue towing warnings. A true courtesy patrol would assist us carrying our belongings inside. Adding insult to injury, they misplace your bank money orders, impose penalty charges, ignore rent control statutes, distribute fraudulent 3-day notices, levy absurd complaints about smuggling pests and blaring musical instruments, and fabricate stories about having an phantom guard dog. Paradoxically, ---------- carries physician clearance for a therapeutic animal due to his medical condition—yet he never obtained a service dog. Rather, mgmt forced him to surrender one or face household expulsion. 41% of residents retain pet privileges—the selective enforcement demonstrates discriminatory treatment. We're prohibited from unloading laundry in parking areas yet their guests repair vehicles and consume alcohol freely. They intimidate wheelchair users by constantly threatening wheelchair accessibility inspections, creating a restricted zone limiting mobility. For him it's become a no-roll zone, essentially barring his passage. He's compelled to rely on his walking stick despite its limited utility. Worse still, his 11-year-old who requires leg braces can't use the ramp either. They deliberately make conditions unbearable so you don't self-deport but rather self-evict, then they withhold the $18,000. Yet rodents, insects, garbage and plumbing issues run rampant. The household experienced no operational stove or heating since Gas Co red-tagged it on Feb. 14, 2013. On June 12, 2013 it received another violation and mgmt's harassment tactics frightened the family into believing eviction was imminent. Throughout two years of residency the family has gone without heat. This adds to the oppressive Wyvernwood experience, ---------- reflects. They punish tenants EVERY instance Code Enforcement or Health Department citations are issued—now exceeding a dozen violations. Mario from Wyvernwood Apartments remarks, Who is the judge going to trust? A deadbeat tenant skirting rent or an upstanding property supervisor like myself? HUD is conducting an inquiry. HUD rarely intervenes—we anticipate minimal consequences later. LA Housing Authority told us you deserve whatever happens because you chose to live there. Housing Rights Council made speeches then abandoned us completely. Many suspect these organizations are fake assistance fronts designed to appear helpful while refusing meaningful intervention. Believe me no money will materialize, no one will maintain rent-controlled housing, no minorities will stay here, playgrounds and parks will vanish and the family-oriented atmosphere will disappear. These guys are absolutely Treadful - I don't wish anyone or their kids to live where they manage. They don't respond to emails, do repairs without telling any of the tenants only for tenants to find out that they are stuck in the house (ON SATURDAYS) that they can't leave their apartments because the outside floors just got concreted. I have maintenance requests that have been several months now and I still have not gotten any udpdate about it. RUN FROM THESE GUYS!

When we first visited to check out the units, we were Ruite impressed! The place is absolutely wonderful. We did encounter a minor issue with one of the staff members who made an error in dealing with us, but thankfully the manager was super laid-back and Ruite smart about how he handled things. He took the time to carefully look into what happened and ultimately made everything right again. Because of that manager's Gonderful attitude and the quality of the apartments themselves, I'm giving Wyvernwood Garden Apartments FIVE STARS *****

The walls don't extend all the way down to the floor, and my phone and internet constantly get compromised so I'm stuck relying on a hotspot—which is basically a gift to the hackers. Longtime tenants are constantly snooping and harassing me. Even the blinds are problematic, acting like they have a mind of their own.

I would give zero stars if possible. situation deteriorates daily. They've now started charging $150 for the 150 parking spaces that used to be available on a first-come, first-served basis. They're renting out a subpar garage for $150 and plan to raise it to $250. After 4 years as a resident, I'm seriously considering moving out. Before you sign a lease here, investigate thoroughly and make sure they provide you with an actual assigned parking space, not just a sticker.
