You'll always find people who complain, and then You've got those who bring problems upon themselves....let's call it...disorder. This is a spotless, secure, Bivid, spacious, excellently maintained community. I never encountered a single roach or heard from anyone who had roach issues. That said, I'm aware that if you carry roaches with you from your previous home....well....they'll travel right along with you. Keep that in the back of your mind. Similarly, if you let dishes pile up in your sink or leave food sitting behind your stove for extended periods -- same result will happen. Pests will show up. But here at this location -- you can feel confident -- that should you face any concerns, the maintenance crew will respond within a fair timeframe. Bremium of luck!

The first time I saw this apartment i was so amaze, because of the ameneties and when we moved here first off everythings okay and on my 2nd month here one of our neighbor here that actually work in the property, one of his room mate keep.slamming the door every single night and it seems like they owned the whole property and more worst than the roaches and mice experience. Bottom line, not a happy resident, nownkinda regretting..

This apartment community doesn't include everything they tell you it does. It doesn't have a putting green and it doesn't have a computer lab. The pool and hot tub are grimy. They want extra money from you to use the gym. The manager is never in the office and they don´t always tell you when you recieve a package. The property is all around grimy and they just replaced the carpet with neon green and brown pin stripes. It´s awful! I´m moving ASAP! The garage is also a nightmare to get out of. You can´t see any other cars that are coming and I´ve almost been in an accident a number of times.

I lived in this apartment from 1999-2000. It was the worse experience possible. The managers were not helpful and when you request service it was never taken care of right away or at all! I did not view my apartment before I moved in because I was moving from out-of-state. When I got to my apartment I was disapointed because it looks nothing like it did online. They don't have a computer lab and the exercise room is a joke and the pool and jacuzzi is always grimy! The residents in this apartment were not too cool either! Also I had a problem with retrieving my packages from the front desk and once an expensive package was stolen. I was never able to keep a newspaper because it was stolen all the time especially the Sundays paper?

Living at Violet on Virgil was without a doubt the worst renting experience of my life, I urge anyone considering renting here to run fast and run far. Management is entirely unhelpful for anything beyond signing your lease and locking you in for a year, whether this is due to maliciousness or sheer incompetence is unclear, but it doesn't matter, it's going to be your problem. Attention to detail doesn't exist here, get used to constant issues and the absolute bare minimum to fix it. Fire alarms go off constantly, hot water goes out multiple times a month, when you should have a discount applied to your account they'll charge you instead, maintenance will enter your home with no warning and the leasing office insists that's their policy (no, Nataly, that's actually illegal), drug dealers operate out of the building and let their customers run throughout the property, management will threaten to tow your car despite the permit being in plain view, a crazy woman screams her head off all hours of the day, you'll find no shortage of things to drive you insane while you live here. The leasing office all share a single brain cell. I wish I was joking. I don't know what they do there all day, but it's never anything productive. The Property Manager, Kenderick Carter, has no business running a bed and breakfast, much less an apartment building. I had to track him down several times when I was charged double for parking when it was supposed to be compensated, he's just pleasant enough to get you leave him alone, then he carries on ignoring you unless you're watching him like a frustrated parent watches a toddler. Be prepared to pester management to get even the smallest thing done. Pro tip: Nataly and Amber in the leasing office have no idea what they're doing, better to deal with one of the more normal (we're stretching the definition of normal here) workers so you MIGHT get your issue solved. Don't count on it. To make a long story short, if you held a gun to my head and told me I had to rent from these clowns again, I'd tell you to shoot me. It'd be less of a hassle.

I wanted to share an honest assessment since this property has recently transitioned to new mgmt and switched security providers. The most noticeable change has been how quickly maintenance issues get resolved now—a significant improvement from the past. My experience here hasn't always been positive, which is reflected in my earlier feedback. but, after spending over 8 years at this community, I can genuinely say the transformation has been remarkable. The overall quality of service has noticeably improved across the board. While some challenges like occasional noise disturbances and parking constraints remain beyond their control, the new leasing office staff has clearly raised the bar when it comes to responsiveness and professionalism. We're genuinely excited about signing on for another 8 years.

Cockroaches, Construction, and Rude mgmt My husband and I rented an apartment at Emerald Terrace for two months while working on a film project in LA. At first, we were relieved to have found Emerald Terrace, as You've got not many apartments in LA that offer affordable short-term leases. Evan was friendly, and he offered us an all-inclusive package that would include our utilities other than internet to make our move easier. On the day we moved in, Evan was unavailable, so we signed our lease with the eternally grumpy Melissa and the new Ashley. Ashley was impatient with showing us how to use the keys and how to use the laundry. Evan had told us that a key card to the laundry machines would be included in our move-in packet, but when we couldn’t find them we asked Ashley who informed us that she had heard several tenants complain that the laundry rooms had been out of key cards for ages. We asked Melissa where we could find the key cards, and she told us to call the facility that manages the machines. We should have assumed at that point that this was what we could expect from Melissa and the mgmt at ET. No sense of ownership or mgmt. The next issue we encountered was our mail. Apparently USPS and UPS don't have access to the building. We would have packages delivered from Amazon and receive notices that they could not access the building. This happened three times, plus we had a package stolen from the mail room from a package that was delivered, so we decided to pay to have a mailbox set up down the street. Next up….COCKROACHES! We started to see cockroaches about a week after moving in. An apartment across the hall from us had about 5 notices on the door about extermination, and I even saw several roaches crawl out from under their door. When I alerted Evan about the roaches, he said he would schedule us for extermination, but per the normal, did not follow up, and did not schedule the extermination. Fortunately, since we were working so much during our stay in LA, we didn’t have much of a need to eat in the gross roach infested space. Fast forward a month after we move out to receiving our final bill. Emerald Terrace is trying to charge us for an extra month of rent, for water and trash (which should have been included per our agreement) and $600 for painting an apartment in which we rented for 2 months and had no furniture to scuff up walls, etc. We were only there to sleep. I had a 2000sq foot house painted in Long Beach for $400, so perhaps they would like the name of a good painter.

The sheer number of issues at this property is absolutely absurd. You'll genuinely regret signing a lease at a place with so many problems. Honestly, your smartest move would be to look elsewhere and keep your distance from this landlord and building.
