Constantly deteriorating building, mail and car break-ins, and owner/management always neglecting maintenance requests for years. Seriously good luck getting anything fixed, ever. Seems like they're trying to squeeze every last penny before the building gets condemned or something...

The apartment facility is good but the management is poor. Trash chute blockages and broken door lock for main entrance took a month to repair. This is pretty unacceptable from the point of view of considering tenant security and convenience. Minor repairs like broken blind slats just don't happen without pestering. Plumbing requests are generally responded to with the question, "Have you tried Drano?" Yes, tenants are willing to use drano but standard upkeep of plumbing in the building would be nice.

I just check out the apartment in detail. Based on the former reviews are all made more than 2 years ago. I guess this building now changed their management company, because Miller@Desatnik is the biggest department management company here, they are professional. The 2b2b units I checked is nice, clean with good skylight. The price in this area is good. At least I can't find anything messy in this apartment anymore. The manager is a yong&good guy with sunny smile.

The company which manages this property are unreliable, unresponsive, and generally uninterested in maintaining a quality living environment for it's tenants. The on-site manager is the only person related to the company who cares to assist the tenants with their issues and often tends to be in the same boat as the residents in regards to the sub-par treatment from the managemnt company. CONS: There is a roach problem. There was a flooding problem. There was a rat problem. The elevator, garage doors, washers, and dryers break down very often and are fixed very slowly. The dryers used to be $1.00 per load, but after they fixed the last set of broke-down dryers, they raised the price to $1.25. I had a leaky faucet which took the management company 29 days to fix. One day short of a city violation. When asked to replace old and worn-down appliances such as the stove, dishwasher, or blinds, the management company often responds with an attempt to raise the rent if they replace the problem items. They pay the least amount of money to fix problems when they are forced to fix problems. For example, when they decided that the faucet in my bathtub, which was literally dangling out of the wall, was ready for replacement, the plumber who installed the new faucet said the management company gave him the lowest possible budget to work with. For what they charge, and what the tenants receive, the rent is much too high. The turnover in the building is outrageous which is a clear indication of the unhappiness of the tenants. PROS: The neighbors are generally friendly and quiet. The on-site manager is helpful to the best of his ability and friendly. The park across the street is quaint and relatively quiet. The underground parking is great.

I moved into this apartment in January of 2010. Although I did read the previous bad review of the apartment building before moving, I thought that I could live with a cat in the parking garage and a freshly painted building. This apartment has so many other issues it's nuts. When I arrived with my things to move in there were dead cockroaches EVERYWHERE in the apartment: the kitchen, the closets, the bathrooms, the bedrooms: everywhere. It was also filthy and had clearly not been cleaned well after the last tenant had moved out. I called the manager and he said he would send an exterminator out that day. Five days went by before anyone showed up. Since then we have seen about seven cockroaches since we've been here (it's almost July now), not including the monsters that are in the parking garage. On top of the cock roach problem my roommate's room has flooded multiple times, and I mean FLOODED. Her brand new bed set was severely water damaged because of the flooding. When we spoke to the manager about it (the entire house smelled like gross mildew for two months) he said he would send someone over. All they did was use a high power fan for two days straight to dry out the carpet, hence the several floodings since then. No one has been back to fix the problem since, though we've contacted them each and every time it has flooded. Reason number 86 not to move here: there is definitely a mold problem in the building. Our current neighbor who we share walls with is breaking his lease because a mold inspector found mold in the apartment. Apparently the woman who lived there before him also moved out because of mold, but I guess they didn't care enough about their tenants to fix the problem before they moved in with a small child. Honestly, there are a million and 18 better choices to live in a 1/2 mile radius than this building. BEWARE.

I just left this apt couple month ago unhappily. I've been living here for about 1.5 yrs. The rent is absolutely ridiculous!! This apartment is NOT under rent control. For the first year I moved in, I signed the contract and therefore the rent stayed the same for the whole year. Thereafter, I go with month-by-month lease. For the next 6 months, they increased my rent 3 times!!!! This 1st time they increased my rent 11%, I was fine with it. A month later, they left a notice at my door telling me that they will increase another 5% starting the following month. I was already feeling unreasonable at this point but there is no way to argue because they are not under rent control. The 3rd notice I got was after 3 months of the 16%, they told me they are going to increase another 15%. This time I really couldn t take it no more. Within the past 6 months, they increased total of 31% of my rent!!! So I decided to leave. I do not feel it worth to pay for such a high price of rent but NOTHING is improving in this building. This apt has no amenities no nothing. The apt has 4 floors, each floor has 8 units. So total of 32 units. But there is only 1 laundry room at the parking lot, it has only 4 washers and 4 dryers and they are always always always OUT-OF-ORDER!!! I have to bring my laundry to the coin laundry or cleaners. The building is old and NOT well-maintained. The only thing they did is re-painted the whole building. But just the outside though. I think they do this just to attract people, making people think this is a well-maintained nice building. The tenants are mostly nice. But once in a while when I receive packages, the delivery guy usually left the packages at the front lobby and by the time I got home, the packages were already opened by someone. Very very important about the environment. This building is in a very very un-healthy environment. Especially when the weather is getting hot, the flies is all over the the front gate. One last major thing, if you do care about your car, you should get a car cover even you have a security gated covered parking spot. There is a black cat living in the parking lot. She will make scratches on your tires, leave stains and hair on top of your car, do #2 everywhere in the parking lot, even leaving you some chocolate cake on your car. The parking lot is pretty smelly because of the cat. I have complained to the manager, but nothing change. This only good thing about this apt, PET IS ALLOWED.
