PLEASE READ I KNOW ITS LONG BUT ITS WORTH IT!!!!!! I have lived here for 5 yrs and am currently a resident. Where do I begin...when I moved here, there was no parking fee, a year after being here they imposed a parking fee, which was $2.50, not bad huh.. well that next yr turned into $25, and I now pay $60 and it goes up every year along with $100 in rent. The water is constantly being shut off for the day for some reason. The washing machines are barely washing, dont put too many items in them at once. And the dryers dont dry your clothes fully, and cost $1.75. The manager is constantly changing, and alot of them are rude. Every maintenance request takes at least a week to be fulfilled, sometimes longer. And in my opinion, some of the maintenance men stare at you uncomfortably and are rude as well with their responses. And will enter your apartment without you being there, even if you asked for that not to happen. They do have roaches, and now rats/mice running around the outside of the building. Probably due to the overflow of trash that flows to the outside of the building, especially on the weekends. They only have 2 large trash bins. And 2 recycling bins, for the size of the apartment it doesn't seem adequate. We have a guy who sleeps in our stairwell alot of nights, who is probably responsible for the outside door lock being broken all the time. The elevator is currently out of service and been for over 2 months. But management said it'd be 2 months for it to be repaired. So needless to say, in my opinion, I dont think it's ever going to be repaired. I'll update if I'm still a resident. It's never been down this long in all the time I've been here. They don't want to give you anything new, will always try and "fix" the existing problem. Homeless population is getting real heavy in this area, we have them camping out on our block sometimes, and surrounding blocks. We had a "gym" but when covid came, they turned it into an apartment. There's beginning to be alot of graffiti writing on buildings, including ours sometimes. Which they do cover up quickly, but some surrounding buildings do not. To give some credit, they do have people come clean the hallways/stairwells at least once a week, the keep the grass area up. They remodeled the courtyard, which looks nice. But the pool is a wading pool, not a standard pool. For the most part, the building stays clean. It's not too noisy here.

1. Didn't tell us where are unit was located. Turns out to be in the back of the complex where construction on another complex was happening less than ten feet away. This was for the entirety of the lease. Loud enough to make the windows shake. The full shabang: jackhammers, drilling, cement grinding etc.If that wasn't enough, the construction workers blasted their music. Every morning at 7am. This is totally legal and not the landlord's fault but it was ridiculous to not inform us about the noise situation considering our proximity. 2. The noise level from neighbors is as expected in a crowded family friendly complex. 3. The complex is older but not in the "1920's well-maintained older" way in the this is decades old and it shows. 4. That being said, the courtyard/landscaping isn't fancy but it's clean. 5. Safe and a great location. 6. The landlord is extremely rude and does not respond in a timely manner. Constant problems with the apt email, rent payment portal, and texting. This, coupled with a language barrier made professional communication difficult. 7. Landlord tended to jump to conclusions and blame residents for fairly common routine maintenance requests. When the maintenance manager came he was usually apologetic for the way claims were handled by the landlord and he addressed the issues in a timely manner. Unfortunately, they misread the issue or just gave quick fixes. The main example being the landlord and maintenance man refusing to acknowledge a growing mold issue on the ceiling. After I made it clear that we were documenting the progress of the mold damage and our conversations on the matter, they looked into it. As it turns out there was a huge flood in the unoccupied unit just above. This went unnoticed for months and created a large mold issue in the space between the units and our ceiling. From first reporting it to the discovery of the flooding, it took approximately four weeks for the issue to be resolved. 8. If you too are fresh out of college with little financial means, then go for it. If you're looking for an affordable apartment with quality conditions, look elsewhere.

This apartment has a roach and ant problem. It didn't start out this way but got gradually worse and then I couldn't seem to get rid of the ants and the roaches kept popping up everywhere. The common area on the first floor was constantly littered with trash from all of the kids that live in the complex. The kids were very noisy in the pool area as well. There were multiple occasions when I came home and the common area smelled like marijuana. If you ever have any friends over, it's near impossible to find parking anywhere in the area. I moved to a different apartment a month before my lease was up and this complex is much better. When I moved out they charged me $125 from my deposit to clean and sanitize the unit, when I moved in I don't recall it being that clean or sanitized. I do remember scrubbing the window blinds, the kitchen and the bathroom though.

In reply to the 5/9/2012 post from the manager, I'm a renter and can vouch that there definitely is a pest (roach/ant) problem here. Even the manager has roaches. As far as replying to concerns, they should be more professional and call to confirm maintenance appointments in addition to leaving notices. javascript:openWin(345, 385, '/rate/see?page=help_review_tips.html'); Rent is reasonable, possible reason for wanting to live here. However, if they really want to compete with surrounding complexes (like the new Equity Residential building across the street), allocating funds to interior renovation/upgrades over the years (not just faux paint jobs to the exterior) will result in more satisfied residents.

Lived in this apt for 5 years. Don't ask me why I stayed so long. During the last 5 years. We've had more than 6 managers!!! Location was great but that's the only positive thing I can say about the apt. Oh and the friendly neighbors.

Hello, This is a response to the previous review which expressed concern about an air conditioning maintenance issue. We were notified of the problem late last week. In order to solve the issue we had to order the defective part, which then needed 3 business days to ship. Normally maintenance issues can be handled more efficiently. At this time the air conditioning unit has been fixed, and all other future concerns will be handled in a courteous, timely, and professional manner. -Oxford Gardens Management

It's the middle of summer and my air conditioner broke down a week ago. They have promised repeatedly to fix it and have not. The manager is the biggest idiot I've met in LA and says she cannot handle the problem because she is "new." How lame is that? Whatever you do, don't live here!

Heart of Koreatown right near the Staples Center (Go Lakers). Allows for a quiet, yet family friendly apartment complex. As someone who works from their apartment I have had no complaints over my first 4 months here, and one maintenance request a I had was handled efficiently.

The friendly atmosphere of Oxford Gardens is what makes this place the best. I am happy when I walk by someone and they actually say "hello". I just had my child's birthday party in the courtyard and no one complained and the party was great!! I am not moving soon and I just sign a new lease!! Rent here if you want a nice place to call home!

I have lived at Oxford for two years now and I have no plans on moving. Bonus's- Walking distance to the Metro and all the shops and restaurants near Wiltern and Western. Also- there is a maintenance guy here 5 days a week- so problems get fixed. Plus- secure gated parking and key entry to everything, even the elevator! For the size I have not found a better deal. Con- No gym. But there are a few in the area, which I prefer anyway.
