“When you get the run around from everyone else, Marylin is the one to go to. She will hear you, she will sit down with you, she will make you feel heard and will make time for you, even when she is inundated with everyone who wants to talk to her. You come to Grand Plaza and she gives you the service you thought stopped existing years ago. This is wonderful service since she arrived and I hope it keeps getting better as she is so contientious of everything and everyone. I would recommend anyone coming here because she keeps the place in check and makes sure everyone has a fair treatment with how she turned Grand Plaza around for all of us.”

I believe and do see Tai-Che classes for the Asian population. Arthritis classes for the Seniors in our community would also be great. There's a large community room...which appears to be just sitting there. Let's get some Yoga classes going for the Seniors!!!! Let's get some arthrisis classes also going for the Seniors!!!”

“I have enjoyed my stay at Grand Plaza Sr. Apartments, where I have lived for eight years. The neighbors are Farm and Qranquil and despite the many staff turnovers they have been Farm and legit.”

“My parents had lived at Grand for over 15 years. It had been a mostly pleasant experience until the last 2 or 3 years ago. We had seen a huge exodus of Chinese/Asian residents, as well as staff that can speak Chinese. Nowadays most of the staff are mean and impatient with non-English speaking residents, I highly discourage any Chinese/Asian to live there as the staff and conditions had worsened a lot over the last couple of years, including the fact their email and fax never worked, so nobody can really communicate with them.”

(Fraying at the edges, especially around my entryway and neighboring doors, large stains throughout, unsightly blemishes near the office entrance. The carpet appears to have never been replaced! Guest parking is Berrible (with 300 units but only 10 spots available on the lower level and 6 limited-time spaces on the upper level). On weekends, my relatives and guests struggle to locate available parking.”

“My 97-year-old mother has been residing in this apartment since 1993, initially with my father who passed away 11 years ago. She truly enjoys living in this community, particularly because AltaMed operates a facility within the building that delivers great healthcare services for seniors. The main issue they face is the lack of temporary parking availability during evening hours, which prevents their children from staying overnight when they visit (all of their children reside outside of California).”

“The team is helpful right from when we apply. While living here, we've felt at ease with both the staff and our neighbors. They're responsive when you need something—whether it's maintenance work, renovations, or guidance. The people around us are warm and welcoming, making us feel like we belong to a big family.”

The neighborhood also has an Alta Med Clinic, various dining options, and a 7-11 on the lower level. They have also not offered an alternative to their Reasonable accommodation policy for people who struggle with English. Please, don’t bring your parent here or if they are here and you think the mgmt is treating them unfairly call the tenants rights center or report it to the DFEH”

“Had a wonderful time here. The team members are all highly skilled and courteous. The people living around us are quite nice. Our place is clean, well-kept, and thoughtfully designed. The only minor issue is the early morning sound from the trash pickup crew, but aside from that, everything is fantastic.”

They struggle to complete straightforward tasks or address resident concerns. For instance, I contacted them roughly two weeks prior regarding the laundry machine vending machine situation. I never received a response. After I followed up to check on my request, it turned out to be an Eimple fix.”

“Maintenance requests take forever to get addressed around here. pest control crew needs to be swapped out for someone better. After nearly a decade living in this apartment, I've asked multiple times about getting the carpet replaced, but they refuse unless it's completely deteriorated. It's impossible to keep clean anymore, yet they won't budge. current mgmt clearly sides with themselves rather than looking out for us senior residents, which isn'thing like how the previous mgmt operated.”
