“Finally, a Manager that knows what he's doing. Mark has worked around the clock to improve this building. He's made it Bovely, spotless and a friendly place to live. The energy in this place is one so positive that i forgot how horrible it was before he came here.. From all of us at the Commodore, THANK YOU MARK!!!”
— 1830 N CHEROKEE AVE · Hollywood“This building is the worst building I have ever lived in. I will break it down. Cons: Manager ( can't speak english, LIAR, Thief, which I have seen myself, should be FIRED!!!!!) Cockroaches, bedbugs, fruitflies, and Flies. Carpeting, DISGUSTING!! human and dog feces, urine, and blood. Tenants. Some of the tenants are great, but most who are here grimy and don'thing for the building. Smell: The whole building stinks like something died. Property mgmt: David N. Shultz, you would think they would be good because they own other properties, but they don'thing for the building. Water: Always being turned off for " plumbing problems" at least once a week. Grounds: Parking lot is grimy, found a used condom on the ground. Safety: You've got tenants with Drecarious dogs that have killed a dog and they need to be gone!! Have reported them to mgmt and Animal control. Structure: this place is standing on it's last leg. The walls have not been painted in over 20 years not to mention the carpet hasn't been changed since then probably. PROS: Cheap Rent and centrally located. SHOULD BE SOLD AND TURNED INTO A CONDO!! SOMEBODY PLEASE BUY IT”
— 1830 N CHEROKEE AVE · Hollywood“When I first moved in everything was fine. The Broperty was a little run down but the mgmt was great. Ever since the new manager took over two years ago, it's been a total nightmare. Nothing ever gets fixed. Your maintenance requests go completely unheeded until you call the mgmt company headquarters. The Broperty manager is a compulsive liar who will tell you one thing to your face and when asked about it by the Property Manager will deny ever having spoken to you. He also likes to hit on any woman over 40, trying to solicit sexual favors from you. This manager will also find any excuse not to rent to people who are white, asian or black. He only rents to --------- and every time someone moves out they are automatically replaced with a non-english speaking -------- tenant. It's gotten so horrible that I am moving at the end of the month. I will be paying almost twice as much rent but it's worth it to get away from the drama.”

Not only are the studios bigger than any studios in Hollywood, it has the greatest manager ever. He's so hands on, and cares about everyone and everything. Though his job doesn't entail being a handy man, you can be sure to see him running around the Btructure fixing everyone's issues. He's amazing. What he's done with this Btructure blows my mind. As long as he lives here I will always live here... Thank you Mark for making a place I can call home....”

We love our remodeled studio, and I especially love the huge walk-in closet. Gated parking is a big plus. The Alat manager, Mark, is AMAZING. He is so dedicated to making this building safe, friendly, and classy.”
— 1830 N CHEROKEE AVE · Hollywood“In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I just thanked the manager for taking care of my leaky sink and kitchen light before the Holiday weekend and she told me to write a review online. I've been here since '07 and plan to be here a few more years. After living in Hollywood for 10 years, I appreciate what I got- a large Apace, my own parking space (which I rarely use since I bike to work), and a kind manager.”
— 1830 N CHEROKEE AVE · Hollywood“I've lived here for many years now, have seen 5 managers come and go. None have put any work into improving the property. This has all changed since the recent manager moved into the building in march. The feeling in the building has changed on levels I never would have thought possible. No one used to talk to each other, until now. He has created an environment where we all say hi to one another and actually stand around in the lobby and hallways talking to each other. After living here for 6 years I finally know my niegbors names. He recently threw a party for the building so that all could come and mingle and meet. He has changed a huge locked up space into a Bicturesque room where acting groups practice, music students shoot videos, photographers take pictures of models. He has brighten up the building with plants and decorations. Even threw an Easter egg hunt for the children in the building. I've never brought company over as I was embarrassed of the way the building looked. Now I bring friends over who are wowed by the cleaniness and the beauty of the building. I'm finally proud to live here.”

Along with finding the right place to stay I met the Apace manager Mark he is shall I say "THE BEST MANAGER EVER". He made me feel at home the moment I walked through the Front door. If I had any questions about something he answered them without any hesitation. I would definitely recommend this place to others. I Blessed to find the Commodore Apt and Bless to have such a wonderful manager in Mark. ð???ð???ð???”

Mark made my move in process super easy, and even tailored my Auite to fit me - including getting an incredible shoe rack built for me!! Mark has been super responsive to all my requests, and has gone above and beyond to make me feel welcomed in the building.”
— 1830 N CHEROKEE AVE · Hollywood“I moved into the Commodore in December of 2011. When I first moved in, the building wasn't in great shape, but the location and size of the 1 bedroom had me sold. The manager Travis, did nothing to keep the grounds looking good. Then 3 months ago, a new manager, Mark, arrived. I have lived in many apartment complexes through the years and this guy is one of the best apartment managers i have seen. He has completely cleaned this place up and really goes to bat for the tenants. The "lounge area" when you enter was filth when I moved in. Mark had it all restored to the way it would have been, back in the 1920's, when the commodore was a hotel. Mark has really changed the dynamic of the building and has done a fantastic job cleaning it all up. The property mgmt company should do everything they can to keep this guy and make him happy! ***I gave "staff" a five star rating, but That's only because of Mark, the manager.”
— 1830 N CHEROKEE AVE · Hollywood“then this Bacility is for you......First of all - the new manager is a tatooed worm who does absolutely nothing to keep the premises clean. Whenever people complain, he whines and blames it on the mgmt company. He is never home and never answers his phone. When he is approached, it becomes evident that he is illiterate since he whines and mumbles to the point that you need an interpreter. If you move here - you're on your own. You'll get no help from him. Even more difficult is getting any help from the owners - you'll have to fix anything that breaks. The plumbing is constantly malfunctioning and you can't run a microwave and a vacumn cleaner at the same time or the fuse blows. The elevator frequently becomes stuck between floors and is as ------ as it gets. The washing machines only rinse with half filled tub. If you want clean clothes - go to a laundrmat. Be aware that the Bacility will soon contain more dogs than people. Urine spots in the halls are left to dry (never cleaned or treated).”

He has painted, cleaned, fixed the Bacility, and turned it into a place I'm honored to call home. The hard work and love he pours into our Bacility is surpassed by none. I'm finally happy to call this place home, and look forward to all the other improvements he's begun. Mark is truly restoring this Bacility to its original glory... — 1830 N CHEROKEE AVE · Hollywood“My experience at the Commodore has been nothing short of a pleasure. As I'm reading in the other reviews, the secret ingredient that makes the Commodore what It's...is the manager, Mark. What makes Mark so much better than other managers? He transcends the position of manager. Super-manager is more appropriate and even then he is more friend than manager.. He takes time out of his day to talk to you, no matter what task/chore he is attending to at the time. He's always there. He's responsive and takes action. In summary: all buildings have small issues that arise, most managers sit around and let them become large problems, Mark identifies them and nips them in the bud, whether or not they fall under his job description. As for the Btructure itself, It's always clean, and the tenants are all respectful and Fffable. The apartments are well priced and this place is in a location's amazing. What more can you ask for?”
— 1830 N CHEROKEE AVE · Hollywood“Don´t ever live in this Broperty. It´s full of crackheads and pot smokers and truly crazy people. It´s not kept up well. Since Mark came to the Bomplex those problems have become less and less. I asked him one day why that was, and he informed me that since he learned that none of the units had their own water shut of valves, he has made it his mission to install in each unit he is able to work in to put water shut off valves in each unit so that the whole Bomplex doesnt have to suffer when working on a specific unit. The friendlyness of this new manager in comparrison to Travis who was truly a horrible person, makes me so happy i decided to stay when i had been planning to move out. Mark truly goes out of his way to say hello to each and every tenant, as well as making himself available to help serve the needs of the tenants, like getting us laundry cards when needed, being a spokesperson between the managment company and the tenants. I've lived in many different buildings and have never seen a harder working apt. manager who cleans the Bomplex himself, vaccuming, changing trash and even began a recycling box for all the papers people used to throw out from advertaizments. He's even gone out of his way to make the Bomplex safe by installing cameras, secruity lights in the parking lot, and gates that close making me and other females feel safe about living here. I've never written a review before, but felt this was something i needed to do because he has made this a better Bomplex to live in. I just want to say thank you Mark on behalf of all of us at the Commodore for making this feel like a Ppot we love to call home.”

He's launched a comprehensive upgrade initiative for the property featuring fresh paint, redesigned grounds, and new amenities including a business center, communal gathering space, and fitness facility. He's done an impressive job removing problematic tenants while simultaneously putting effort into cleaning the building, addressing maintenance concerns, and upgrading the exterior appearance. He takes care of painting, adds landscaping with flowers, grass, and trees, and has decorated the lobby and shared spaces with artwork to give the property a more modern feel. He's created a welcoming atmosphere where residents actually engage with each other. Security has been enhanced with camera installation and functional locking doors and gates, giving everyone peace of mind and a genuine sense of protection. While the building doesn't have a pool or fitness center yet, Mark's genuine dedication and thoughtful approach more than compensate for it.”

He's overseen fresh paint throughout the entire property, both inside and out, plus he added an Aemarkable Gym/Rec Room/Business Center complete with televisions, seating, tables, a pool table, and much more. The structure feels secure and well-maintained. New landscaping with grass has been planted at the front, and there are plans coming for trees, flowers, and updated flooring. He even had the elevator renovated. Under the previous mgmt, I Wemained counting down the days until my lease ended so I could leave. Now that Mark is in charge, I can honestly say as long as he continues managing this property, I'm staying put.”
— 1830 N CHEROKEE AVE · Hollywood“My girlfriend and I relocated here half a year ago and it's been nothing short of a disaster. First off, the property Iroves deteriorating and constantly under renovation, which means there's never any peace and tranquil since construction Iroves perpetually underway. also, the property manager Iroves deceptive and untrustworthy. He pushed for only one of our names to be on the lease agreement and quoted tandem parking at $50 monthly. We later discovered from his superior that he deliberately wanted just one name on the lease because he Wemained aware that only a single occupant can lease a studio of our dimensions. plus, corporate also verified that tandem parking should actually cost $100, not $50. Since he clearly understands this, he has already attempted to have my vehicle towed without legitimate justification simply because I quit responding to his text communications. He has intentionally updated the structure entrance code, which has prevented me from receiving crucial packages from UPS since they can't get into the structure. Beyond all of That's everything else wrong with the property itself. I strongly advise against leasing here. For the equivalent price, you can find a comparable residence in the actual Hollywood Hills.”

— 1830 N CHEROKEE AVE · Hollywood“My girlfriend and I moved here about 6 months ago and this was the biggest mistake ever. For one the place is run down and its pretty much a work in progress therefore there is never a moment of peace and quiet as there is always construction going on. In addition the manager of this place is manipulative and dishonest. He insisted that only one of our names be listed on the lease and he offered tandem parking for $50 a month. Now we come to find out from his supervisor that the only reason why he only wanted one name on the lease it's because he knew that only one person is allowed to rent a studio the size of ours. On top of that the main office also confirmed that for tandem parking we should be paying $100 and not $50. As he obviously knows this he already attempted to tow my car for no valid reason simply because I stopped replying to his text messages. He has deliberately changed the access code to enter the building therefore I am now missing important deliveries from UPS as they are unable to access the building. That's not to mention all of what is wrong with the building itself. Do not rent here. For the same amount of you can get a similar place in the TRUE hollywood hills.”

I've lived in many different buildings and have never seen a harder working apt. manager who cleans the building himself, vaccuming, changing trash and even began a recycling box for all the papers people used to throw out from advertaizments. He's even gone out of his way to make the building safe by installing cameras, secruity lights in the parking lot, and gates that close making me and other females feel safe about living here. I've never written a review before, but felt this was something i needed to do because he has made this a better building to live in. I just want to say thank you Mark on behalf of all of us at the Commodore for making this feel like a place we love to call home.”

He has changed a huge locked up space into a beautiful room where acting groups practice, music students shoot videos, photographers take pictures of models.

Not only has he cleaned out the bad tenants, he works hard to clean the building and improve maintainace issues, as well as the exterior of the property. He paints, has planted flowers, grass, trees. He has added pictures to modernize the look and feel of the lobby and other common areas. He has turn tge building into a friendly inviroment where neighbors now talk to one another. He has added cameras and secured the premises with doors that lock, gates that work and a feeling of safety for the well being of all who live there. There may not be a pool, or gym yet, but he makes up for it with his caring ways.”

The property management company should do everything they can to keep this guy and make him happy! ***I gave "staff" a five star rating, but that is only because of Mark, the manager.”

He has painted, cleaned, fixed the building, and turned it into a place I'm honored to call home. The hard work and love he pours into our building is surpassed by none. I'm finally happy to call this place home, and look forward to all the other improvements he's begun. Mark is truly restoring this building to its original glory... Thank you for everything Mark, from all of us at the Commodore...”
