“I had a psychotic woman who paid no rent living above me abusing her kid and throwing alcohol bottles off her balcony and she was never evicted. She damaged the apartment manger and my car and nothing was done. The apartment owner would park in my spot and have to move his car and never apologize. Hellish.”
— 1519 N MARTEL AVE · LOS ANGELES“First of all I want to say I loved living at Martel manor. It is not very modern, and it is shabby and worn inside, but it is in great location and the manager is THE BEST of all. He is the sweetest person you could possibly meet and he responds in no time, if you have a problem. Now, the parking is great - its underground and spots are very convenient. Noise - street noise or other - is almost non existent although you are so close to Sunset. There was NOT A SINGLE cockroach all 1,5 years I lived there. I had a studio in 2007/2008 (executive studio as they call it - meaning its almost like a junior bedroom) - very tiny closet space, and it cost $1150 utilities (gas and electricity), I had a huge balcony but you can't keep ANYTHING on it - it gets covered with thick layer of dust immediately. Parking on Martel itself is plenty. The street is very tight but you can ALWAYS find spots for your guests. Now, the bad stuff - my bicycle was stolen from the garage so beware of that. Some tenants are not very clean, although the cleaner does a good job every Sunday. There are 2 washers and 2 dryers on the ground floor. And a "recreation room". All in all, I loved living there.”

The manager is nice and the apartment is decent. Very little closet space. Martel is impossible to drive through at night when cars are parked on both sides of the street.”
