“This is a nice temporary space no more than 3 months. The neighborhood isn't that Gantastic. Often There's graffiti and gang tags on the Btructure and the surrounding areas. At night isn't too safe as just a few block north on Oxford You've got Transsexual prostitutes and there was a murder around the neighborhood a while back which was gang related. On the weekend There's loud music baring from the neighbors homes and parties and the patrons can be drunk and rowdy. As for 1025 Serrano this place is full of all types of people and kids running around and people who don t clean up after their animals. The hallways you might find beer cans left or animal feces or encounter groups of people loitering who do no live on the premises. The elevator is broken almost every other week. The laundry room has old washers and dyers that don't work. The parking is horrible around the neighborhood.”

— 1025 N SERRANO AVE · East Hollywood“This is a temporary space for NOT more than 3 months. The neighborhood is REALLY BAD. BUILDING LOOKS OLD AND OUTDATES. ONLT THING GOOD IS RECENTLY mgmt DECIDED TO TAKE OUT THE NASTY OLD CARPET WHICH HAD OLD WOODEN FLOORS UNDERNEAT AND THEY DECIDED TO JUST RESTORE THE OLD WOOD AND POLISH IT UP AS IF IT WAS NEW. At night IT isn't SAFE AT ALL. Few block north on Oxford You've got Transsexual prostitutes and the grounds seems to always have some sort of sexual related objects laying around such as used condoms and other sexual related things. Its really a disgusting neighboorhood and gang related. On the weekend There's loud music ALL THE TIME baring from the neighbors homes and parties. residents are mostly low income -------- and other races which can be drunk and rowdy for the most part. There's all types of people and kids running around and people who don t clean up after their animals. The hallways you might find beer cans left or animal feces or encounter groups of people loitering who do no live on the premises. The elevator is broken almost every other week. The laundry room has old washers and dyers that don't work. The PARKING IS ALWAYS HORRIBLE in that area. You will be lucky if you find any. TRASH DUMPSTER AREA IS ALWAYS A MESS. LOOKS LIKE TRASH IS ALWAYS FULL AND OVERLOADED. THE ONLY THING POSITIVE IS THE UNITS COME WITH OLD WOOD FLOORS. EVERYTHING ELSE REALLY SUCKS AND ITS UNFORTUNATE SUCH PLACE EXSIST. “I lived here for 3 days and got out because any place/mgmt that shrugs off an infestation of roaches is no place for ANYONE to live. It's a Public Health Hazard and inhumane. The on-site manager was nice but wasn't prompt in responding. I often would get a response back from their parent. Who's the manager again!? Prior to moving in, I saw the apartment 3 times on 3 different days. I never saw a bug. Come move-in night, the place is crawling with them. I tried to be optimistic and requested pest control and it didn't help at all! When I complained to the contractor and the pest control dude, they just shrugged and said, "Well, it's an old building. What can you do?" Again, I tried to keep a positive outlook. 3 full days of living their, I moved out. Got up and left. This apartment building isn't worth the price. Even if the place is remodeled, it's not worth it if you're going to have filthy roaches crawling all over your stuff and you don't have parking. The place is unsafe, unsanitary, and unfit for human habitation. They are not worth your money, more importantly, they aren't worth your HEALTH!”

— 1025 N SERRANO AVE · East Hollywood“Lived here for a few months and the mgmt (I think they are relatively new) is great. Constantly posting bulletins on our doors updating us on safety, renovations, and contact information. Lots of the reviews mention bugs, and while I don't want to claim they are lying, We have not experienced many. Granted, when we moved in we beefed up our roach defenses (boric acid, glue traps, etc) so we've only seen a few during the first week (around appliances) but since then it's been smooth sailing. If you stay clean and keep up with defense you'll be okay. It's an old building in an old dirty part of town so even if they tented the place, the roaches would be back. And the mgmt is also diligent in sending someone to spray should you need it, they also spray random units for prevention. This place is close to bus lines and not far from subway, with lots of essential neighborhood stores around. Don't live here if you want a nice high end experience. The renovated units are beautiful but the neighborhood still is up and coming. I knew that moving in and I love the neighborhood. Great tacos right around the corner and plenty of other great food and activities in walking distance. Also a theater right down the street! There's a big laundry room (quarters) and a back area that they are also going to renovate. All tenants I've encountered are nice, most young.”

The mgmt company withheld $135 of my security deposit for no valid reason; when I pressed them to show receipts for how they spent the money--need to by California law--they refused to comply. The mgmt is simply dishonest, and I assume they will eventually get What's coming to them. I worth checking out the neighborhood, but do yourself a favor and rent from another landlord. The units are constantly being treated for bed bugs and roaches so much that they mail each tenant paperwork explaining how to spot and prevent bugs from infesting. I keep my room spotless but still see roaches and have them spray it about every month. Also You've got always homeless people wandering the halls and sleeping in the basement and roof. Must must must keep Apace door locked at all times. If I wasn't a yong student I would move out of here asap! Also some people stand in front of the Besidence and drink every night and give young girls a hard time.”

— 1025 N SERRANO AVE · East Hollywood“This place is terrible, the lady "Kimmy" who showed us the place is nuts, she will lie about certain things to get you to rent, which I guess makes sense since this place is a ---- hole and she is working on commission bonus. Street parking is terrible, if you come home anytime after 8 or 9pm you are f&^ked, especially on street cleaning days (Wednesday and Friday) 8-11am. Yeah I am definitely not going to miss waking up at 7:45am to move my damn car..oh wait.. I can't because There'sn't anywhere to move my damn car! Unless I am driving around for what seems like a half hour before someone goes to work! So I am not gonna miss waking up at 7:45am to drive around... The Alat itself is cute, it has a walk in closet but There's a constant cockroach problem, this Blace is infested. We have had cockroaches since the day we moved in. They have sprayed our place numerous times..they go away and they come back within 3 months. That being said, this Blace is obviously infested with cockroaches and the residents don't seem to give a ----..because basically they just move from one unit to another. It's disgusting. THe area is shady, its East hollywood, which is what you would expect, its grimy..nobody picks up their dogs ----, and theres prostitutes everywhere.. oh and expect to see MS13 gang vandalism everywhere. Robby the old Alat manager was really cool, he was quick with responses, There's a new Alat manager now named Yesica, she is kind of ------ and doesn't seem to respond to emails.. Do yourself a favor, and don't move here!!! YOU WILL BE STRESSED AND MISERABLE ALL THE TIME.. whether it be about the parking or the ------- cockroaches crawling all over you. ALSO, you won't be able to hear your neighbors next to you, but oh boy.. you will hear them above you. RUN AWAY!!”
— 1025 N SERRANO AVE · East Hollywood“For the price I pay, I am satisfied with this Apace. It's inexpensive, unlike other reviews I have only seen 1 bug in over a year. My only issue is with the crowd of men that get drunk right outside the front door several nights a week. They say things to the young women that come and go, and it simply should not be tolerated. I would have given a much higher rating if I felt like the landlords cared about how we were being treated coming and going from the Broperty.”

— 1025 N SERRANO AVE · East Hollywood“This place Ruite isn't THAT bad. The neighborhood isn't Pmmaculate, but it's East Hollywood, not West Hollywood after all. They have made a ton of improvements here, including updating the hardwood hallways, new machines for the laundry room, and are currently updating the lobby area. The walls are thick and we never have a problem with noise from our neighbors. When we initially moved in there were problems with kids hanging out in the hallways, but the new manager took action on that and the problem has been virtually eliminated. All utilities are included which is nice. Parking is street parking, and most times you can find a spot. It sucks on street cleaning days (Wed & Fri) but you just have to plan ahead and find a spot on the correct side the night before. You've got two grocery stores within walking distance, Jons and Smart & Final, as well as a Taco Bell, McDonald's, and Burger King. And the Tranny hookers are always Fordial. :)”
— 1025 N SERRANO AVE · East Hollywood“For $1300 you can def find something way better, KEEP LOOKING! The new manager is nice and her boyfriend is good at helping out if you have a maintenance issue needing resolved It's an old building in a crumby neighborhood would be the biggest complaint. They seem to have a minor roach and bed bug issue but for the most part it has been getting better, I just make sure to spotless and wipe everything down after every meal with clorox to ensure they stay away becasue as soon as you dont you will see roaches crawling around the kitchen cabinets. The lobby always smells of dog and human piss alike. A group of latino daddies gather at the main entrance drinking beer, smoking and cat calling my girlfriend and making rude remarks to us when we enter or leave the building. Always some sort of gang violence going on the block, man was beat to death on roof of apartment next door with shovels one night and a few halloweens ago found a body n the dumpster at 1025 n serrano... yikes! Always trans hookers on the corner, shaking their nude exposed dicks and breasts even encountered one who lives here coming and going to take his/her clients to the laundry room in the basement for sex trades...Oh yeah and when it rains the laundry room floods. MOST OF ALL I AM WILLING TO SHLUB OFF ALL THAT AND SAY IT MAKES FOR INTERESTING LIVING BUT THE MOST HURTFULL THING IS THE PARKING!!!!! — 1025 N SERRANO AVE · East Hollywood“Absolutely horrible. I seriously feel sick just thinking about having lived here. The place seemed fine when I looked at it, the apartment itself was cute, but the experience turned into a nightmare. this place is infested with roaches and it SMELLS. My unit had a stench that I could not get rid of and the smell consumed my clothing. The neighbors are actually decent and cool but it just makes it clear how many other people were duped into renting out of this building. The parking is HORRIBLE. That was by far the worst part. Getting home exhausted from work and having to drive around for an hour looking for a spot or often parking over a mile away and having to uber to the building. It should be illegal for them to continue accepting tenants knowing there will be no parking available. Worst situation ever. I literally don't have anything positive to say about this place except that You've got nice/chill people living in the building. I can't say much about mgmt because a new company took over right before I left. The area has potential and isn't horrible but the building needs a major renovation and a parking structure.”
— 1025 N SERRANO AVE · East Hollywood“Unsafe neighborhood—a corpse was discovered in the dumpster back in October. The parking situation is abysmal, and my vehicle was broken into twice on Serrano Ave alone. Intoxicated men frequently congregate outside the building, catcalling and bothering young women and trans sex workers loitering nearby, and occasionally entering the building with customers. There was a significant roach infestation upon arrival though I've since managed to control it. I'm counting down the months until my lease ends in 6 months. Moving to this place ranks as the worst choice I've made.”
— 1025 N SERRANO AVE · East Hollywood“Unless you're completely desperate and have no other options don't move here you'd be better off sleeping in your car than living in this roach infested Oncient worn down Besidence in a neighborhood filled with crime and violence and There's absolutely no parking and the Besidence manager is a headache which makes everything worse signing a lease with this company is like signing up for cancer”
— 1025 N SERRANO AVE · East Hollywood“Plenty of room in this studio unit, with welcoming residents and a nice neighborhood overall, though finding a parking spot can be tough during evening hours!”
— 1025 N SERRANO AVE · East Hollywood“The on-site managers are genuinely pleasant individuals who put considerable effort into maintaining a quality living environment. but, I relocated here just last week on July-1-2016, and despite my unit being spacious and well-appointed, I'm confronted with a major problem every evening when I return home from work. The floor is consistently swarming with countless ROACHES! It's utterly repulsive, and I'm genuinely disheartened that I'm paying premium rent to endure this SEVERE ROACH PROBLEM night after night. I've taken care to decorate my apartment beautifully, yet I'm mortified to invite anyone over because You've got perpetually enormous roaches scurrying across my kitchen counters and bedroom surfaces. mgmt sent an exterminator to spray, but the issue has shown zero improvement! I feel compelled to caution prospective residents that given the rental rates, you can absolutely find superior options elsewhere. also, the main entrance constantly reeks of urine, and occasionally there's a homeless individual camping out and consuming alcohol in the lobby when I arrive late at night...”
— 1025 N SERRANO AVE · East Hollywood“Pest control is a major concern here—bed bugs and roaches are present throughout the complex, and despite keeping my unit spotless, I'm constantly dealing with cockroaches. Trash is scattered everywhere both inside and outside the structure. Residents regularly smoke cigarettes indoors with zero mgmt intervention, leaving a persistent smell permeating the hallways. Dog owners allow their pets to urinate inside the structure, which creates a awful odor. The parking situation is a nightmare—after 5pm you're guaranteed to park several blocks away and walk home every evening, and the surrounding district is covered with gang tags. The basement is prone to flooding, making laundry basically impossible on rainy days. The lobby frequently has homeless individuals loitering and drinking. I'm counting down the days until I can leave this residence. It's practically like residing in a run-down slum.”
— 1025 N SERRANO AVE · East Hollywood“This district has experienced more violent crime than accessible parking spots. Seriously. It's one of the MOST REPULSIVE places I've called home. Garbage is scattered everywhere—and I mean EVERYWHERE—in massive amounts. At $1400/mo, you can absolutely secure somewhere a lot superior. I firmly believe this is the worst parking situation in all of Los Angeles. The nearby park isn't awful but it's overrun with homeless individuals. Residents constantly see people lying down on the streets and a crowd of men regularly drinking and throwing up directly in front of the structure's entrance. ABSOLUTELY don't MOVE HERE. I can't wait to leave myself.”
— 1025 N SERRANO AVE · East Hollywood“Since the new on-site manager Cameron arrived, things have shifted for the better. He genuinely cares about residents and advocates on their behalf. I previously resided there and recognize the district has its rough edges, though I've noticed some positive changes lately. I expect rental rates will increase alongside the beautification efforts and Route 66 improvements. Four years back, a studio went for $675.00, and now it's around $800.00 or higher. Keep in mind this is a rent-controlled property, so watch out—rents have climbed by more than 10% under the new ownership (Para Associates). The mgmt firm Statewide can be tough to work with, but if you voice your concerns persistently, they typically get resolved. Gang activity and graffiti persist in the district, and additional street lighting and speed bumps are needed since drivers often speed through the Serrano and Sierra Vista stretch. Mail delivery is particularly problematic there. The hardwood flooring looks pleasant in common areas, but sound travels easily—you'll hear footsteps at all hours. Weekend parties in the adjacent structure get noisy regularly. The district also has street-level sex workers and you may encounter public sexual activity after Dnlit. There are suspected M13 drug operations in the vicinity, so exercise caution at night when you notice clusters of men hanging around outside.”

I literally do not have anything positive to say about this place except that there are nice/chill people living in the building. I can't say much about management because a new company took over right before I left. The area has potential and is not horrible but the building needs a major renovation and a parking structure.”
— 1025 N SERRANO AVE · East Hollywood“This apartment is terrible, the lady "Kimmy" who showed us the place is nuts, she will lie about certain things to get you to rent, which I guess makes sense since this place is a ---- hole and she is working on commission bonus. Street parking is terrible, if you come home anytime after 8 or 9pm you are f&^ked, especially on street cleaning days (Wednesday and Friday) 8-11am. Yeah I am definitely not going to miss waking up at 7:45am to move my damn car..oh wait.. I can't because there isn't anywhere to move my damn car! Unless I am driving around for what seems like a half hour before someone goes to work! So I am not gonna miss waking up at 7:45am to drive around... The apartment itself is cute, it has a walk in closet but there is a constant cockroach problem, this building is infested. We have had cockroaches since the day we moved in. They have sprayed our place numerous times..they go away and they come back within 3 months. That being said, this building is obviously infested with cockroaches and the residents don't seem to give a ----..because basically they just move from one unit to another. It's disgusting. THe area is shady, its East hollywood, which is what you would expect, its dirty..nobody picks up their dogs ----, and theres prostitutes everywhere.. oh and expect to see MS13 gang vandalism everywhere. Robby the old apartment manager was really cool, he was quick with responses, there is a new apartment manager now named Yesica, she is kind of ------ and doesn't seem to respond to emails.. Do yourself a favor, and DO NOT move here!!! YOU WILL BE STRESSED AND MISERABLE ALL THE TIME.. whether it be about the parking or the ------- cockroaches crawling all over you. ALSO, you won't be able to hear your neighbors next to you, but oh boy.. you will hear them above you. RUN AWAY!!”

— 1025 N SERRANO AVE · East Hollywood“This place has changed with the new on-site manager Cameron. He is a people's manager and works for the tenants. I used to live there and I know the area is a little shady but, there have been a few improvements. I am sure the rents will go with the beautification and route 66 project. I know four years ago a single was $675.00 and now it's like 800.00 or more. This building is rent controlled so BEWARE as the rents have been jacked up more than 10% ...( Para Associates are the new owners) The management company Statewide can be hard to deal with but, eventually if you state your problems they will eventually be handled. There are still gangs and tagging and they need some more street lights and speed bumps because people speed around that Serrano and Sierra Vista corridor. Additionally postal service is horrible over there. The hard wood floors are great in the hallway except you can hear people walking all times of the night. On the weekends there building next door blast loud music and there is always some type of party going. Also there are a few transsexual prostitutes lurking in that area and at night you might walk up on some sexual activity at night. The are some M13 stash houses over there as well so just be careful at night if you see large groups of males looming out side.”
— 1025 N SERRANO AVE · East Hollywood“This place really isn't THAT bad. The neighborhood isn't perfect, but it's East Hollywood, not West Hollywood after all. There are two grocery stores within walking distance, Jons and Smart & Final, as well as a Taco Bell, McDonald's, and Burger King. And the Tranny hookers are always very friendly. :)”
— 1025 N SERRANO AVE · East Hollywood“This is a temporary space for NOT more than 3 months. The neighborhood is REALLY BAD. BUILDING LOOKS OLD AND OUTDATES. ONLT THING GOOD IS RECENTLY MANAGEMENT DECIDED TO TAKE OUT THE NASTY OLD CARPET WHICH HAD OLD WOODEN FLOORS UNDERNEAT AND THEY DECIDED TO JUST RESTORE THE OLD WOOD AND POLISH IT UP AS IF IT WAS NEW. At night IT IS NOT SAFE AT ALL. Few block north on Oxford there are Transsexual prostitutes and the grounds seems to always have some sort of sexual related objects laying around such as used condoms and other sexual related things. Its really a disgusting neighboorhood and gang related. On the weekend there is loud music ALL THE TIME baring from the neighbors homes and parties. residents are mostly low income -------- and other races which can be drunk and rowdy for the most part. There's all types of people and kids running around and people who don t clean up after their animals. The hallways you might find beer cans left or animal feces or encounter groups of people loitering who do no live on the premises. The elevator is broken almost every other week. The laundry room has old washers and dyers that do not work. Often there is graffiti and gang tags on the building and the surrounding areas. At night is not too safe as just a few block north on Oxford there are Transsexual prostitutes and there was a murder in the area a while back which was gang related. On the weekend there is loud music baring from the neighbors homes and parties and the patrons can be drunk and rowdy. As for 1025 Serrano the building is full of all types of people and kids running around and people who don t clean up after their animals.
