I had a 2/2 on the first floor from 2008-2009, and loved it! i honestly never had any problems with it! the only thing i didnt especially like was the outside building color--a muddy brown color, id prefer a white a more beachy color myself:) but to each his own... here are the positives i found (based on my opinions and preferences) - very quiet and private nighborhood -very clean, safe, upscale neighborhood -nice small quiet gym , and walking distance to a great jogging trail around beautiful golf course! - WALKING distance to publix ( huge in my book ) and close to plazas and mall - nice floorplans--HUGE bathroom (i personally hate tiny bathrooms!!) and walk in closets! -i loved the first level patio--my cat loved to go out there and watch birds and lizards -4 pools, one the "social" pool, but the others quite private which i liked:) -front door trash pickup, all you had to do was sit it outside your front door at night and the trash pickup would get it for you ( which i loved!!! no going to the dumpsters every day) -i NEVER had a problem with bugs on the first floor, and believe ME, i am absolutely terrified of bugs which is why i moved out of south beach as many of the old buildings there have roach and bug problems which i couldn't deal with. - i had one problem- the sliding door lock broke ( probably my fault) and called the maitenence guy and he came over that day. (ps i usually tip the maitenance guys a few bucks when they come everywhere ive lived and ive never had a problem so maybe if you have a problem having them come to your house show your appreciation for being prompt with a few bucks, and they will be sure to be prompt the next time:) just a suggestion:) ----overall a very comfortable, great place :) i moved out of state but would def live there again in a heartbeat! hope this helps--and remember-- everyone has different experiences- one person might have had a horrible one, while the other a great so see for yourself.:) have a great day! overall it was extremely comfortable

Roaches Be prepared to pay to live with the roaches. Apparently the person that lived here before had a problem with roaches as well, I have had problems with roaches and I have talked to management several times, and apparently there is nothing they can do, they say that the expert will come and explain and investigate what is going on, what they really do is tell you that this is very normal and that there s nothing they can do, they don t understand either. Apparently for management, leaving with the roaches is something very normal. Security issues there have been two times since I have been living here were there have been armed robberies, in a very short period of time, so if you are a young woman I would be cautious. If for some reason you move here, I recommend the side were the management office is, just because everything on that side gets done, or more on that side gets done, they clean the halls, they maintain the property better than the other side, they might charge you a little more but trust me, from someone who lives on the other side, you don t want to live on this side, unless you don t mind making monthly or weekly letters complaining about the cleaning, the bags in the dog areas, people parking were they shouldn t a lot of times blocking your car, so if you are in a hurry be prepared to take 25 steps to get your car out, that s if you are able to get your car out. They will give you a number to call, that s if you are lucky enough to be given the number or if they don t forget to tell you about this when you are signing the contract. Be prepared to live with the roaches, if you are some one that has phobia of insects this is not the best place to live, just because they will not take care of this issue, they will send an exterminator but they will still come back and NOTHING will be done. The security gate closes every day at 4:30 pm, but its generally broken, and since the management is never here or doing their job, they will tell you that you are wrong, that the gate ALWAYS, closes at 4:30 so if your car goes magically through the gate after 4:30 its because all of the people that live here are imagining it.

...you'll feel like your handing out hundreds of dollars for nothing every month. Do yourself a favor and look at other apartments in the area before you decide on living here. When you're paying that much for rent you want to feel like you're living descent. At Camden Aventura the only thing descent about it is the location and exterior look of the complex but really the location. I like to say it's a bad business in the middle of a GREAT town. The apartments are horrible and cheaply designed and maintained. The appliances are old, loud and burn alot of electricity. The management practices are absurd and maintenance requests take forever to be answered as they are always backed up or short on staff, according to them. When the repairs are finally done, it is without care. They sell you gated access but really the gate stays open all day. And that valet trash service they're trying to sell you on, please note you WILL be paying for that, an extra $40 a month if i remember correctly on top of other charges you will be hit with. They're really not up to par with the prices they're charging (This coming for a usually positive person). I lived there for 2 years and was hit with all kinds of fees at move out including a pet fee for a pet I never owned. They mailed me back my deposit and a month later called me and said I owed them $750 (for which to this day I have not received a written break down, but did for a lesser charge but they still insist I owed them $750) after I had repeatedly called and ask them if I had any outstanding balances at move out and was told NO repeatedly by the guy working there and the assistant manager. Note, I was never late on my rent. Don't try to get in contact with them either because they're never available and never call you back like they say they will, though they won't hesitate to call you to inform you about money you owe. I was furious at first but now I realise you can't control these evil companies but you can control who you do business with. That'll be the last $750 Camden or any of it's affiliate companies will EVER get from me or anyone i'm close with. I feel there should always be a middle ground between a customer and a business and there is none with this company. Good business is always better in the long run. Those evil little policies and bad business attitudes won't get you far. I know they overcharge because when they billed water along with the rent it was at around $60, when the city started sending bills directly, my water bill never went over $15. Oh and people looking to rent there should also note that your rent will increase around $100 every time renewal comes around. I moved in in the 1300's and was up to around $1500 when I moved out with a renewal offer of a $100 more so if you're looking for longevity keep this in mind. I don't mind paying this kind of money for an apt. but I expect to get something good in exchange for my money.

We lived here for awhile now, and all i can say that it's the worst place we ever lived in! our rent adds up to about 1500 for one bedroom, awful closet space and pretty much everything in the apartment is broken. the management is the WORST!!!! they charged us for repairs that they have never fixed. they never return phone calls. they are rude and they call you names. the management is disrespectful towards the residents. The trash servuce that we pay 20 bucks for every months is disgusting they drag and throw garbage down the stairs and scream like cave men! Security.. SECURITY??? forget that word! the gate has been open for people to come in for 2 months now. there's no one on duty. you can hear when your neighbors is yawning. the place feels like a studio and everything is old and outdated. DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR, JUST DON'T MOVE IN.
