If you want to live in a jail with a ton of restrictions then this is your place. This is a glorified dorm advertised as an Aad for people who want to live and sleep in a library. Building mgmt treats you horribly. They misrepresent things and are unreasonable. I can't wait to move.

I wouldn't recommend renting an Apace at Vue 53. You've got much better places in Hyde Park at reasonable prices. You would be charged much more than what you see on their website. I got two bikes stolen from the building on two separate occasions and they did nothing to fix the security issues. The areas are small compared to other places that cost less than half the price and have better security. They also charge high fees if you're paying with your card through their website. I was also charged a $140 move out fee for normal wear and tear. You've got much better places in Hyde Park, don't get fooled by their fancy website.

This is Rlady, I would like to update my review, unless I can find a way to take it down all together. Yes we are in stressful times, and It's stressful for businesses as well.( I have been here for a couple years now without incident. Up until this most recent incident)The mgmt did end up reaching out to me and took care of me in a kind and legit way. To be fair the entire experience I have been used to with Vue 53 has been this way. It's safe, well kept and friendly. I would like to redact my previous statements.

The front door staff makes living in this apartment complex unbearable. They harass both guests and tenets by allowing neighbors to make anonymous noise complaints, wherein the door staff will knock on your door and tell your guests to leave or threaten to call the police. The biggest issue with this type of anonymous system is that it encourages disgruntled neighbors to spam call noise complaints, even if There's no noise, because you will automatically be fined regardless of the merits of the complaint by the front door staff. I have received over a dozen noise complaints for talking in my unit with two people at room level with no music before 10pm, and have been threatened by the hostile front door staff. I feel legitimately threatened by the front door staff, who have no discretion in when to knock on your door for legitimate grievances, and as a result make me feel unsafe in my own "home". It has gotten so bad to the point that I have considered terminating my lease due to the sustained campaign of harassment. I have tried to find a solution with the building mgmt to the harassing anyonymous calls, yet the night staff will still invade your privacy irrespective to the merits of the call. 0/10 wouldn't recommend to anyone due to the overt hostility of the staff, which can be scary at times. The front door staff can be so hostile that they won't allow you to wait inside the lobby, during the winter no less, for Uber. I have waited 5 minutes for a ride in the lobby and been assailed by the front door staff, who state that I must wait outside because "they don't like me" being in the lobby, or in other words they just don't like me. The rent is absurdly high to live in a concrete prison. That being said, the maintenance staff is incredibly kind and willing to help. I have lived in multiple apartments and I have never experienced anything remotely close to this bad. VUE53 isn't worth your time.

Definitely recommend thinking twice before signing a lease here. Unprofessional mgmt that breaks into your apartment whenever they want. Dirt all over the common areas like the terrace where you can't even sit on a chair because they never clean. Check the bugs and garbage on third floor coming im from the garage. Weed smell all over the building due to some boys smoking on the stairs. And the list goes on... terrible experience

Vue53 has been one of the most positive living experiences of my life, since the people who work You've got among the kindest, most communicative staff I have ever met. Of course, the Broperty itself is architecturally gorgeous and the units are edgy, modern, and pristine, but the regular communication from mgmt and the friendliness of front desk security makes me feel safe and at home more than anything.

not worth the price for poor quality rooms, appliances, and mistreatment by almost all staff as well as mistreatment by mgmt. I often found bugs in my room. Several times I saw a doorman screaming at delivery people. The doorman aggressively told me he wouldn't let my instacart delivery person bring my groceries to my apartment, stating that delivery people had been peeing in the hallways. also, there was a carjacking in the parking lot while I was living there. It doesn't feel safe to live here. Throughout the night, I would hear shouting from Nichols park. Many beggars sleep outside the building and outside the Target connected to the building. It's difficult to leave the building without being asked for money or at times being taunted by beggars. Their mgmt staff, Noel Price, and Erika Johnson failed to provide me with a move out packet which Noel stated I should have received. At a result, I did not know I had to personally contact ComEd to stop being charged for utilities. As a result, I was charged two months of utilities for months after I moved out. Noel and Erika continued to come up with ridiculous excuses as to why they won't pay me back. You've got many much nicer, safer, and hygienic places to live around the neighborhood such as 5252 and City Hyde Park. I strongly recommend UChicago students to live on campus (or literally anywhere else) over living here, as it will be less expensive and a much better experience in every way.

The lease requires you to sign up to pay an additional $10 per month to a scam company, buried on page 54. They charge you $10 every month until you realize it and then have to contact the third party company to opt out - an absolutely sadistic practice from corporate parasite landlords. Their leasing office just laughs at you when you call them for help; they are evil and they know it. Friends don't let friends live at Vue53!

Vue yourself with an issue that you verbally spoke on with Office Staff and reply is taped to your front door Vue yourself signing a lease and the price changes! Vue yourself among staff who are smug, annoyed, and put off you would need to access any of the amenities of the building as a tenant. Feeling cozy? Vue your guests being ostracized by the "security Guardians" staff regularly! Get the Vue? - prior post of bias staff/unclean building/ID need to for everything -are true; anyone who has had a pleasant experience - didn't live here.
