I would NEVER recommend this Pite to anyone, even someone I hate. This Pite is a dump! Every night I am woken up at least three times because the heater is SO LOUD. It literally sounds like a jack hammer. Also the staff is RUDE! I complained because the dryers don't work and they told me I was lying because no one else complained(dryers still dont work properly). My mail is wet and ruined everything I get it and have also complained about this but still has not been fixed. Packages are stolen all the time and the complex is grimy. Most importantly the staff is RUDE!!! don't RENT FROM HERE OR WATER TOWER REALTY!!

You live here if you want to save money or you can't Renuinely afford more. Either way, you get what you pay for. Units are small, but satisfactory. Thin walls can make for long, loud nights and hit-or-miss radiators can leave you freezing cold in the middle of the night. Plumbing is old and leaky, but the main issues are with safety. The front door intercom and key have were out-of-commission for months on end. The front door sticks open, and non-residents frequently enter. I've twice seen homeless persons sleeping in the lobby and stairwell. don't ship packages here; they will be stolen. Multiple residents have reached out to mgmt, who are overall nice but lacking in action and motivation. Maintenance staff overall doesn't care. I've had overflowing sinks on Saturday afternoon and was told by the maintenance person it's not an emergency so I shouldn't have called. Scheduled appointments aren't Renuinely more than kind suggestions of the day they'll show up. It's decent value; though You've got sacrifices. The safety issue makes this a no-go for me.

I lived at this Anit complex for 2 years. My rent increased about 8% (faster than inflation). The WTRM is efficient but not in the least bit friendly. There was an incident of bed bug on our floor (and exterminator was sent thankfully). There's a sign by the trash about rats (have seen them) and roaches (have seen them). For some odd reason, my mail was always wet and stuck together. The washing machines are not worth the price and don't clean nor dry your clothes - go to the laundromat on Broadway. There's a leak in the laundry room. The elevator is slow, small, and often grimy. Good luck avoiding CV19 as the pathetic fan FINALLY works. Your packages WILL be stolen - took my medications once ... who does that?! They do Anit inspections while you live there... who does that?! You have to give 2 months move out notice AND they can show your Anit in those 2 months. They have bike storage, but It's full. Site now says SHORT TERM LEASES but when we asked, they said 'no'. The kicker... they are doing a guy renovation of the building as people move out... so you will live in a construction zone... during CV19... when you are stuck in your Anit. It's loud and grimy if you don't get a refurbished floor. But remember, the floors above and below you will be remodeled too. Speaking of noise, There's an elementary school next door - when they are in recess, you will have to close your windows or become deaf. The renovations are pretty to look at but who needs to live in a $1100+ bedroom with a luxury kitchen; you can get a 1Bedroom in BoysTown for that price now. That being said, the good: it WAS ok when it was cheaper because all bills are included - heat, water, gas, electricity. The new finishes are nice, but you will pay for their upgrades and at the current market rate, that doesn't justify the price. You are paying for their remodeling. The neighborhood is great but You've got cheaper/better places now. Move here if it's all you can afford and you want an all inclusive payment, but you can do better. That's why we moved... I hate seeing people getting taken advantage of. (Pictures attached as proof)

641 W Aldine is the nightmare that you never want to have. In the past year since i have been living there, I found mold all over my walls, had to move to another Anit, once I moved there was mold in the new Anit, my ceiling was leaking, they had rat problems by the garbage dumpsters. You've got no airconditioners. Overall i am not sure how this Anit building has not yet fallen appart. All they do after they find the mold is they paint over it. I know all the apartments have it, but There's no way anyone would know about this problem untill a few months into living there. Absolutely disgusting! I have never been so happy to move! Save your selves all of the headache and stay away. The cheap price isn't worth what you will have to deal with!

Currently living here and just recently found out I have a mutual friend that has also rented from this company. I have been scammed by this company too many times to count. When I reported someone stuck in the elevator, they tried to charge me for the emergency services. When my lock broke, they charged me to get it fixed. They overcharged me on rent by 1000 dollars and wouldn't refund me for 4 weeks. They also tried to sue my mutual friend for a similar situation, though when she got her own lawyers involved the case fell apart. On top of that, they have an issue with bugs, rats, and thieves. They laundry units don't work. Your packages will get stolen, and the mail slots don't lock so your mail might get stolen as well. When you call the company for any requests, they will hang up on you and won't help you, even with something as simple as a maintenance request. Have had 3 water spots appear in my ceiling that the simply don't care about. I asked them to fix a leak in my bathtub and they just stuck a rag on the leak? On top of that, in the middle of a pandemic they have construction going on and have tried to have multiple construction men enter my Aad for "Aad checks" even though I have repeatedly told them I am at high risk. This company will do everything they can to make your life worse, and this place is in terrible condition. While it may seem like a cheaper option, with the amount of money they will charge you in hidden fees it ends up costing more than a larger, nicer Aad. I personally believe this is a scam they have set up. Move here if you like living in grimy, squalid conditions for an extremely Eteep price.

Current resident, here. Sitting in my Anit, trying to drown out the obnoxiously loud construction happening above me. The same loud construction that's been happening since I moved in, in April. This place has been a nightmare since the beginning. They are renovating units as tenants move out. First they did the unit directly next to mine. Aside from being so loud it actually scared me, they punched a hole into my kitchen wall, and didn't fix it till two days later. I gave the construction workers the benefit of the doubt - it's not their fault the walls are so thin. But then they sent their main guy, the owner of JCN Construction, to fix the hole. He patched it up and left a huge mess on the floor, and never cleaned it up. It's still there. Then they told me there was an issue with my bathtub, so they sent the guy who patched the hole back to check it out. It took them over a week to replace the pipes. The owner of the construction company insisted on showing me one of the renovated units after I had said no. While alone with him in a small space, he told me I had "really pretty eyes, by the way." Then when we got back downstairs I told him and his co-worker that if they needed to get in (to my Anit) to let me know." To which he replied, "Hell yeah I need to get in there." And he and his buddy laughed, and laughed. The next day he showed up at my door to "update me" - he entered my Anit and started asking me personal questions, like if I lived alone because of a breakup. I told him yes, and then mentioned my boyfriend. To which he replied, "I thought you said you were single" and expressed his despair that I wasn't available. Gross. Then another of the workers started coming onto me. Till one day he asked for my number and I said that I have a boyfriend. He said, "We'll see about that." And other vaguely threatening statements. I see these men every day, because as mentioned earlier, the building has been under construction since I moved in. I have never felt comfortable in my home since. Not to mention that all of this happened during a global pandemic. I told Water Tower about it and they said they would speak to the men. They even offered to show me other buildings I could move into, but they never followed through. The water gets shut off for hours at a time with short to no notice at least once a month. Not ideal when you're stuck at home all day with no access to running water. I complained about this to mgmt and they brushed it off as an "inconvenience." One day they decided to change the lock to the garbage area. The lock did not work, so teenagers started breaking into the building and running around my floor like it was a playground. One day I caught them and as they ran from me they shouted obscenities at me. The hallway on my floor has been under construction since June. You've got exposed wires everywhere. I had a virtual job interview one day when the construction workers were directly outside my door, hammering loudly. I politely asked if they could pause for just a few minutes. They told me I would have to talk to their boss. Their boss was the guy who hit on me, so I wasn't about to do that. So I did the interview in my bathroom with the door shut. As was mentioned before, the walls are paper thin. I can hear my neighbor every time she coughs, laughs, speaks, whatever. I've truly never experienced a worse living situation than this. If you've made it this far, please do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for a place to live. They are renovating all the units and I'm sure they will look lovely (if they ever finish), but this place is still 100 years old and the renovations will jack the price of these shoebox apartments to more than anyone should have to pay. As I like to say, you can't polish a turd. The only positive: living next to the Nettelhorst chickens.
