I would like to respond to "WHAT?? I would so buy there".

I recently ALMOST bought here. I hope you read the fine print in your contract. The builder is only providing a 30 days warranty on his work. (Seems a bit shady to me)

Not only that but after I terminated the contract Farrah still let my appraiser in, so I got charged the appraisal fee!

WORD TO THE WISE....Stay clear of 732 Bittersweet!!!
What does a bike being stolen have anything to do with ANYTING??? Don't you think that has more to do with the tenants, who by the way, will be moving, than the building structure itself...which is beautiful...and priced very affordably....for lake views and new kitchen/bath. Kinda small, but hey, if you want big, move to the burbs. Went to look there for myself today....and was very impressed.

Do not move in here. The office staff is horrible and barely around to answer the phone. Although they require so much money upon move in they do not like to give your security deposit back when you move out. I am most likely going to have to take them to court to get my security deposit back. There are so many better apartments in that area. I encourage you to avoid added stress and inconvenience by not renting these apartments.

My experiences with the Bittersweet management was a total disappointment. I found them to be dishonest with me on several occasions. They didn’t do the work that was to be done before I moved in to their building, and they cashed a check I had written them to secure my application BEFORE I even signed my lease.

Twice management neglected to note that I paid my rent (even after cashing both checks), and served me with a letter each time threatening eviction – EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD MY MONEY. I was even yelled at by management when I called to clear up the situation. In both cases I had to go to my bank to get solid evidence to prove to them that they had received and cashed each check before they would stop harassing me.

Bittersweet did not respect my privacy. They never contacted me prior to entering my unit and did so whenever they felt it was appropriate. When I let them know that I would not be renewing my lease with them, they began showing my apartment without my knowledge. I stepped out of my shower one day to find management and two total strangers standing in my kitchen. Naturally, I was a bit upset. I requested that they give me the required 24-hour notice the next time they entered my apartment, and I was told flat out that they couldn’t do that because they didn’t have time to arrange that with me. Even after I explained to them that it was the LAW, and that it was written in the lease they had me sign they still refused to cooperate with me and continued to enter my apartment without my consent.

I was really happy to get the hell out of that entire situation. I found a great apartment literally one street over. It’s a much larger than the one I was living in and is a lot cheaper. Not to mention, my new management rocks. I highly encourage anyone considering an apartment or condo with Bittersweet to look around a little more.

I moved out over a month and a half ago and am still waiting for my rental deposit. Should I be surprised? And calling the office is also a major pain. There is never anyone actually there to take the call and leaving a message does not mean someone is going to call you back.
about the condo buyer's experience. Are you still happy with your unit? Is everything working, ie. elevators, plumbing, security? Thanks!

Farrah is an evil -----. And a liar. I signed a lease for an apartment, and afterwars, she rented it to someone else. I had to move into a different apartment in the building, one floor down. She always went into my apartment without asking me, and charged me nearly $100 more then my neighbor who had the same apartment and moved in at the same time. -----.

I think alot of the renters want to give this building a bad review because they can't afford to buy a condo. Think about? why did they rent if the units looked so bad. I have enjoyed my condo so far. I think the contractor could spend more time returning phone calls but, the realtors are great.
I've lived in Chicago for 4 years and i think bittersweet is a great block to live on. I am close to the lake and red line and there is not alot of traffic. There are not many condo vintage buildings for sale.
I plan on living here for four years.
What a nightmare. It's noisy, over priced and the office staff don't care about your maintenance problems. I have yet yo hear of a happy resident here.

MANAGEMENT ONLY CARES ABOUT GETTING YOUR MONEY.
