The reason I am submitting this review is because a good doorman often goes unnoticed and that is the case with Barry, our doorman at 1111 N. Dearborn. Barry is such a reliable friendly man. He is always happy to see me and my son, is very helpful and makes me feel safe at home. I am sure lots of residents feel the same as I do. Barry goes above and beyond in courtesy, friendliness and helpfulness. Thank you, Barry! Because I have been living in this building for many years I feel the need to expand my review a little bit more. The building is a nice, safe, clean place to live in. The staff is really nice. The maintenance prompt. Lumi the building’s manager is nice, helpful and seems (to me) to have excellent skills on managing different personalities. I and my son love living in this building. Yes, it’s a little too noisy at times the building walls are thin and noise travels from one apartment to another. But for excessive loud noise/music, we have a 24/7 doorman service to help with such situations, especially overnight when it’s needed. Oh, and we have gorgeous views of the lake and rush street. This neighborhood is awesome! It must be one of the best neighborhoods in Chicago to live in. I would definitely recommend this building to others!

1111 N Dearborn St is a great place to live and I will miss it. Perfect location, spacious apartments, very nice and helpful staff, great 24/7 security (Barry is wonderful), and lots of amenities. The pool is amazing!

I love living here. Lumi is the sweetest in the management, Tiffany at the door is amazing and Sam in the maintenance is the most respectful and helpful guy out there. Staff and maintenance are always available to help. The elevators are a little annoying. The building is always clean and they decorate for events like christmas & all. They don't let visitors up unless the apartment they're visiting confirms so safety is great. The package guy has mood swings so it's best not to talk too much to him and just collect your package.

There is literally no worse place you can live. I promise you you will have a terrible experience. Any good review of this building was made by someone who works for PPM, i promise you this.

While the apartment is situated in a great location, the staff and apartment itself is just terrible. Walls are super thin, you will hear everything your roommates say and do. Elevators are SO slow. I have waited 30 minutes in the morning for the elevator. I don't even think they are occupied at the time, they are just broken. One always goes up to the top floor first before going down. Staff is careless and constantly shirks responsibility. Delivery room lady is the worst - she has lost several packages, is extremely rude, and cannot communicate well. It is a headache getting packages from her. Move-out was the a disaster. They scheduled 25 apartments for the afternoon and we waited a few hours past our time-slot and even then had to wait up to 20 minutes at a time for the service elevator. Staff did not care and said that this was normal.

Do not move in if you are a person who do not like noisy life. You cannot fall asleep at 2 or 3 am because some people play loud music that time. However, it does not work if you report it to the office. The refuse room smells horrible and the elevators are very slow. You will be regret if you choose to move in this apt. AVOID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This place is awesome. Barry our doormen is super friendly and accommodating. The best of all is pool in the summer. I almost spend no time in my apartment on a sunny day when the pools are open. Really cool people live here too.

1111 N. Dearborn (PPM Apartments) is a wonderful location but absolutely the worst maintained building in the city from an elevator standpoint. There are three elevators to serve 32 floors and at least one is out of commission at all times. Sometimes 2. When the elevators do work, they are incredibly old and slow, rattle like they're going to come apart, and are in olousy physical condition. The tenants have been screaming to management about this for months (if not years) and they make excuses, talk of hiring a new maintenance company, but in the end they are argumentative, lie, AND HAVE DONE NOTHING. Don't be sucked in by the great location. This place is terrible.

My number one complaint about living here is that the elevators are SLOW. That may sound trivial, but when it routinely takes you 5 minutes to get downstairs, believe me, it starts to become a big deal. There are three elevators, each of which is individually slow, and it is not at all uncommon for one of them to be down. Last fall one of them was broken for a full month. Elevators aside, the apartments are decent. It's not super high-end, but you know what you're getting when you tour the place. I can't speak for the other layouts, but my 1 bed/1 bath had a very small kitchen and bathroom, but very nice sized living room and a huge bedroom with a nice walk-in closet. It's certainly not the fanciest place in Chicago, but it's pretty decent (aside from the elevators) and relatively well-priced for the neighborhood. All that being said...seriously think twice about the elevators. I don't recommend this place to my friends for that reason.
