The staff, community and location of this apartment is great. I have been more than satisfied with my experience at 1360 N Lakeshore drive. You are a short jog from the lakefront along with being close to all the best night life on Division st. and Wells.

I really like the responsiveness of the staff and agency itself. Everything is really prompt and there's no "gray area" when it comes to lease terms or details about the property which is extremely helpful.

Move in was efficient, monthly payments are easy to make. this place is safe and for the most part quiet. It's easy to have parking, the market, as well as the dry cleaners all in the building.

Reading other reviews (negative ones), I chuckle. I've lived here almost 15 years and feel like I have seen it all. Let me start by saying before I moved back to Chicago, I decided that this was the place I wanted to live. I had passed by here for years and had never even been inside. The location is remarkable. You are close to Lincoln Park and the "beach" (or concrete on the Lake)--I can see Lake Michigan and the Park from my small Apace. Once I saw the place, I was hooked. People ask me all the time, why haven't you moved? Bought somewhere? Gone to a bigger place? All fair questions. My response is: Now, as It's just me, I don't need a large place (my large studio is remarkably spacious--in NYC or SF this would be huge) and my views are killer. And the rent is about par for the location. You just don't find rentals in this neighborhood (unless you live across the street where the apartments and mgmt are much weaker--but old--and some have condo owners, not good). The amenities, having grown up in the city, are fantastic. There's something of a community here, but It's what you make it. One tower allows dogs and the other doesn't. The population of the building turns over fairly quickly (or so it seems) with a lot of young professionals with dogs. Most are really good folks. There's also a large population of people who have lived here a long time. Living in Chicago and having a dry cleaners (who are the nicest couple you'd ever meet) and small grocery store (George and his team are wonderful and always remember you) is beyond helpful. I don't have a car (so I can't speak fairly about parking) and these two services alone make living here worth it. And the location is great without a car. Even in the cold, I can walk to work, the park, the beach, downtown. The only bus service is the 151 (It's one step away). but the 22/36 is a few blocks west and the Red Line is about 10 minutes (an easy commute). If you are really up for a good walk, the Brown Line is about 4/5 of a mile. And the door people will get you a cab anytime. Which brings me to probably the best part of living here. The people who work here. It isn't just the market and the cleaners. Draper and Kramer has been a great company to work with. They are fair and flexible. Now, considering It's a big company, you might have rules people don't like. That's life right? If you look beyond simple announcements, you see the people who write them. The mgmt office and leasing office are great face to face. They are responsive via email and phone. They recently painted my Apace, put in new carpeting, and put in some newer appliances all at no cost. My dreams of a washer dryer aren't possible, but they will do just about anything else. The maintenance is remarkable. After a recent flood, the team literally spent hours with me helping me bail out. Some of the guys have been here since I moved in. They are kind, patient, and don't ever do a half-hearted job. Finally, the door staff. They are top notch in both buildings (some do time in both buildings). Some of the door people have been promoted through the ranks which is wonderful and gives great comfort as you trust the people in charge. Some of the faces have been here for years and you really can (assuming you are smart enough to) a warm relationship with them. It's rare that someone isn't good. On the rare occasion the person isn't working out? The office will listen to your issues and take care of it fairly. They are responsive. In the end, knowing you can trust the staff at all hours make me feel worth renting over buying. What else? Oh many things. But, I'll summarize. The conditions of the apartments are quite good for a building from the 1950s. They replaced all the elevators (well worth waiting for) and they are super fast. They fixing the deck on the 1360 roof a year late, which is fine. It's being done. People seem to like the dog park. I'm glad I don't live above it, but that's me. I'm allergic to dogs, but they never are an issue. The laundry room can be checked on your computer to see what's available before schlepping upstairs. They can text you when your laundry is done. It isn't ideal, but you can watch TV comfortably while you wait in the rooms. Storage is good, if you can get a space. Whether you are here for a year or decades, It's great. Recently, I was at an upscale store downtown buying something and the manager of the store was ringing me up. She saw my address and immediately (this is entirely true) gave me a high five before I knew why. She told me she lived in the building (as did several friends of her) for a few years and loved it. She lived two floors down. We compared notes on our favorite doorman and other folks. She asked how they were doing. Here was someone who lived in the place for 3 years, moved out a few years ago, and remembered it fondly. And the names of all the people here. That's a successful building. Whether you are a keep to your self type or get to know the neighbors type, you will be happy.

Wonderful neighborhood and I always feel safe and secure with the door staff watching over the building downstairs. Love the updates that have been done in the apartments and the open plan of the kitchen and living room.
