These apartments weren't worth the market rate I paid. The buildings always caught fire. 2 burnt down in the 2 yrs I was there. Residents kept pitbulls. Someone was shot and killed weeks after I moved in. Maintenance issues lingered forever. Once Courtney was moved the staff lied about reports not being made, rude attitudes. The grounds were nice but the place was infested with roaches, bedbugs and ants. Laundry rooms locked before closing times and homeless people slept in gym facility. I would not recommend.

Since the new Property Management change to Robbins Management the change has been welcome and overdue. THe property has gotten much needed upgrades with new appliances and counter tops and cabinets . Some of the floors are wood the kitchen and living rooms. The new manangement staff is friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. I am a single female living here and I feel very safe here. I am renewing my lease next month but I am moving into an upgraded apartment.

Aurora Place Apartments has one of the best property manager, I have ever met. Courtney, is very professional and understanding. I enjoyed living there from 1/2015 -2/2016. I never had a problem with safety living there. If you want a Property manager that cares about her residents this is the place you want to be.

So the management has been bought out. The nice woman at the front desk in the office was replaced with a rude and arrogant ---------- that is extremely disrespectful to myself and my much nicer and quieter wife. He has been rude every time my wife or I go in. The property manager is the same and runs the place the same as she did under the last company. The old reviews are still pretty accurate because the property manager is the same. Since moving here in the summer, I have had multiple maintenance issues which I have gone to the office and reported and emailed and reported under the new and old company. --------, who has remained under each company, has said or written that she will handle it multiple times. I still have maintenance issues from when I moved in. The office is useless. The maintenance people are very kind but refer you to the office for maintenance issues. I lost my job and am currently seeking a new one. While out of work they decided to paper almost the entire complex with tow tags on the vehicles. I was told that my tags are out of date. I told them that I was looking for work and I would update the tags but I didn't know when. The rude ------- up front told me with a smile that they were gonna tow my car. I can't get the management here to do anything except try to make my life harder. The area outside my apartment is mostly dirt and floods when it rains leaving mud all over where I park. The dumpsters are constantly overfilled. And last but certainly not least, I got bedbugs in my apartment about 2 months after moving in and I have lived here for about 5 months. Every time I go to the office -------- assures me they are working on it. I have an email where she says that she is aware and working on it that is from NOV 17th of last year. Her latest excuse is new vendors for new management. Two months is more time than I need to find a pest control guy. Ridiculously bad apartments. Suck you in with smiles and a decent look, get you to sign, then leave you hanging till you leave. Maybe with a push on the way out.

Due to the massive fire last night which caused a mass killing of rats, roaches, termites and who knows what else lives in the creases and crevices, I suddenly was reminded of the miserable year we spent at Hastings. You can expect murders, break-ins and muggings almost daily. Please do not go outside at night. Please do not trust the lock on your door. We pushed the couch up to the door every night and kept a gun right next to us at all times. The welfare kids were like wild untamed animals with no mother. They damaged nearly every car in the parking lot. A favorite game was to hop up on top of a car and then run from roof to roof to roof of each car. This was not once or twice, I mean daily. Every day! Another favorite game was to grab each car that had alarms and jump up and down on them all at once thereby setting off from 15 to 20 alarms ringing in harmony. Yes there are that many kids. The drug deals were right out in the open though I'll admit that lessoned a great deal as the management begun weeding out the worse criminals. If you have a nicer vehicle, it won't be nice for long if you park it here. If the savages don't put foot prints and/or dents on your roof or hood, the baseballs, footballs or whatever other game they are playing will damage it. The parking spaces are so small that a pick up truck or a larger car's tires if parked perfectly, the tires will be on the white line on both sides. So you guessed it, you can't get in or out of your car. You have to park next to a small compact car to get the door open. Often times this complex don't pay their trash bill and the dumpsters pile up like a 2 story trash heap. There are hundreds of stray cats who call Hastings home and will feast on this trash. But for the most part, welfare mommy tells little junior savage to take the trash out but they rarely make it to the dumpster and just toss it any ol where. The maintenance crew is a joke. They could not even change a light bulb nor can they speak the official language of the United States of America. There never was nor ever will be any security despite what management tells you. The only bright spot is the leasing manager Courtney. She was always kind to me and made every attempt to correct problems but her management most likely had her handcuffed into submissiveness. Don't even think about moving here. Do you value your life? I met the father of the boys who were shot dead. I met one lady who's door was bashed in while she was watching TV at night. I seen some things that you do not want to subject your family to. If you don't believe me then just go park and sit there someplace between 5 and 7PM and just observe for yourself.

DO NOT MOVE IN HERE. I lived here for 2 years and there were countless apartments broken into, 3 stabbings and 3 homicides. Trash is everywhere, apartments are old and not well kept at all. Management is probably the most unprofessional and lazy people I have ever dealt with. The manager's name is -------- and her husband has a lot of dope shipped there to distribute. Complete low life scum of people. If i could rate this ---- hole at negative 10 I would. Do yourself a favor and move in somewhere else. Unless you want roaches, ants and trash everywhere you look.

I have lived here for 2 years now. When I moved in it was quiet and the kids were respectful and I had no complaints... I don't know if they're accepting section 8 now or what, but there are tons of ------ kids running around. People litter, there are cats everywhere, and there's lots of suspicious activity... Not to mention that little over a year ago there was a murder here and another shooting a few months after. Courtney is the office manager and she is amazing. I have no complaints about her. She's always nice to me and has worked with me on several occasions when I got paid after rent was due. Maintenance takes about a week to fulfill a request but they are kind. If needed you can have pest control attend to your unit every other Monday upon request. I thought that was comforting... Overall this complex has just gone downhill. I am moving next month after my lease is up... But like I said Courtney is awesome so don't let this review reflect upon her personally.

My husband, 6 year old, and I have lived here for a year (our lease is up in a few weeks and I'm SO HAPPY! Can't wait to be out of here!) Gosh where do I begin with our problems? Maybe with my husband being jumped and stabbed behind our building. The complex manager told us that if my husband pressed charges that WE WOULD BE EVICTED! I told her that we were going to get a lawyer and take it to the news, and she finally evicted the people that stabbed him, but none of the other people who were involved. The maintenance workers take at least a week to come half --- fix your problem. Our roof has been leaking for MONTHS (not just a small leak there is 4 huge leaks in the living room), the property manager has sent "contractors" out a few times and I'm still not sure if it's fixed. Hopefully it doesn't rain again before we move. We did ask to be moved to a different unit. The unit that was available for us was INFESTED with roaches. We spent about $100 out of our pocket on treatment for it sue to the fact that we HAD to move units in two days. When we told the property manager about the roaches, she pretty much said that we had no other choice but to move into the roach infested unit. And that the unit we were living in was already leased to someone new. HA! YEAH RIGHT! I refused to move into the roach infested unit. I called the Houston Housing Association and "upper management" and threatened once again to go to the news. Of course the property manager once again sent "contractors" out. They said that they didn't see a leak.....like I said there a 4 HUGE leaks in our small living room. I never got the promised phone call back from "upper management". The bus stop is at the main road, 95% of the elementary school kids are unsupervised, cussing, fighting, running around in the road, playing with knives. lighters, causing trouble daily. There is trash and dog poo everywhere. Thugs walking around smoking weed all over the place at all hours of the day/night. I am so happy that we are moving out of this complex. It honestly needs to be torn down in my opinion,

We have lived at Hastings Place for several months now and I would not recommend this complex to anyone especially family's. There is animal feces all over the property. It is very poorly lit at night. The maintenance does not come in a timely manner if at all. The walls in our apartment have severe water damage and are crumbling. There was a double murder here in the parking lot at the end of december 2013. you can google it and the story will come up in chron.com. There are thugs and gang bangers all over the place. This is a terrible place to live and not family friendly at all. You have to pay $30 just to get a key to use their broken down laundry facility or useless workout facility. The place is infested with drug dealers and drug activity, i have witnessed drug deals in the parking lot and my new neighbor who just moved in is definitely dealing drugs as well. We will not be renewing our lease when it comes up. worst complex I have ever lived at.
