Bad area. Tow happy - they will tow your car if you park backwards, and have to pay an additional $10 a month for a decent parking spot. Also have to pay an extra $70 a month for water and sewer. Apartments are infested with cockroaches. Only positives are that laundry is cheap yet they won't fix dryers so you have to pay to dry clothes twice so they get more money. And they will come pick up your garbage every other day but don't miss the time period or you will get charged $25 a bag. Toilet over flowed all over floor 3 times before I got a chance to plunge it. Almost every tenant has had a problem with toilet over flowing, and maintenance says don't put too much toilet paper in it - really. All wood flooring now. Fridge went out and spoiled two jugs of milk and took over a week to get a new one. Dishwasher leaked all over kitchen and dining room floor and had to be replaced, No outgoing mail slot you have to leave it in office and hope it makes it. Laundry room is supposed to close at 10 pm but they will lock it at 9:50pm when clothes are still drying.

Please don't rent from these crooks. They steal your money. The staff is incompetent. You tell you apply online and don't be upfront about the fees. When you walk into the office, the staff told me it would be$35 application fee. Go online to apply. Then it's $50administration fee, and $100 deposit. They told me it's a points system that approves or disqualify you. They approved my application on 02/21/2015. I received email updates and notification to login that the application status has been completed and updated to approved. Two days later, they Mabel and Jenny gave my apartment to someone else and canceled my approved application on 02/23/2015. All documented. What crooks they are. Please save yourself money and headaches later on from having to go to court with these people that represent SMI realty. I have also lived in Beamer Place Apartments and the 2nd day I lived there, my apartment was broken into. The same problems. The management is horrible. The never honored their word or fixed anything. When I did a police report, the officer stated the weather stripping was gone and the door needed to be changed bc it was completely warped. They never cleaned my carpet. Roach infested, broken cabinets & busted screens. Omg run fast as you can. I repeat do not rent with SMI realty if possible. D

The apartment itself is ok besides all the things that have yet to be fixed or replaced such as the water stained toilet and the roaches...oh and the 3 floods I have had. Staff and management can be rude, disorganized, unfair, and definitely give misinformation. I've been told different things that either weren't correct or didn't happen. They will nickel and dime you! Though the flex plan is very convenient, they charge $40 for it on top of a $10 charge to pay online. If you're a day late (even without any previous late payments), you'll be off the plan and still have a $75 late fee plus x-amount a day. I was once accused of having an animal, but they failed to realize it was not mine, but a neighbors. My car was hit TWICE by a person who did not leave a note and management was not at all helpful. Even though I'm sure the camera nearby would have caught it, it did not because it's pretty much a dummy cam. If they do not like you, you will definitely know. I saw a response that was posted that day refuting all of my claims and calling me a cry baby on a site I reviewed them on, as well as other immature statements...WHAT A JOKE! Since then, that leasing agent has been fired. The maintenance team are the only friendly people.
