This is not an option, but a must! Take pictures of any wet ceiling tiles, leaks, discolored ceiling spots, and wet furniture and carpeting. A regular camera is the best tool for this surreptitious task since digital pictures may not hold up in court. They can be too easily altered. However, it is harder to get quick flash pix without being noticed. I also wish that I had recorded my session with my company when we discussed "reasonable accommodations". Don't be afraid to ask to record any private conversations that they may have with you. You can be sure that they will have some sort of witness present to record the session. Also obtain copies of ALL of your medical records, x-rays, CTs, etc. 2016 Main is run by a bunch of low lifes, they don't care about you at all. In fact, as soon as you complain, expect retaliation.

The almost 50 year old galvanized pipe used to plumb 2016 Main is on its last legs. A major renovation to replace it with copper pipe was started and abandoned over 20 years ago, the situation has only gotten worse. Owners report almost daily water turn offs and..are you ready for this.....they shut down at least 8 floors each time this happens. When the water is turned back on, the water runs dark red from rust and contamination for almost an hour. The water is unsafe to drink, bathe or wash your clothes with. Want to buy a new toilet to replace the filthy one thats there now? In 3 months, it will be permanently stained by rust.

I am an owner, not a renter but there are occasionally units available for lease. The majority of residents are professionals who work in downtown / midtown areas but there are also a number of retirees who have lived here for many years. Pets are welcomed if well-behaved. Very few children here ... high rise living is not a place for children...but like pets they are welcomed if well-behaved. It is rare to hear noise from adjoining units and management is usually responsive to complaints about noisy neighbors and takes appropriate steps to stop those who insist on disturbing their neighbors. Overall this is a safe and quiet place to live.

Used to live here...and let me say I am glad to be out. The management is not helpful. I asked a number of times for help regarding security issues, and was ignored many times. The sound was obnoxious from the clubgoers downstairs as they would linger upstairs without any regard to those who lived in the building. Parking is a nightmare if you live in this building, and forget it if you have guests they are given a third degree. The exercise room had machines broken more than half the time, and the same goes for the laundry room. The whole building smelt like a nursing home, and of cheap chemicals. Dogs and people with pets were not allowed to use the front doors, but drugs and homeless people were. A number of times vagarants and random people would solicit the building, making my short living at the building very undesirable. Granted to location is very desirable, they need new management and to desperately clean up all around it.

As a single female, I lived at 2016 Main several years ago. I had a two BR on the 18th floor facing the Bus Station. When I married, my husband and I moved into a very large unit at the Four Seasons Hotel on Caroline (also downtown.) Therefore I am able to compare Houston downtown highrises: I felt VERY safe at 2016 Main; I loved the convenience; I was treated very well by the staff AND the other residents. To the person who wrote the very NEGATIVE review of 2016, I can only say that, as we all know, there are some people who find fault and complain about everything and every place. There are those who are NEVER happy. There are going to be day-to-day problems in any abode. Lady, get over it. I would be willing to bet that you complained constantly about the LAST place you lived...am I right? And, for the record, 2016 was not built as a "kennel." It is a highrise for HUMANS...(I, too, had a small dog the entire time I lived there but I respected the MAJORITY of residents who did NOT have dogs.) You think 2016 is not animal-friendly? I think YOU don't sound "people friendly." A home is what you make it. I defend 2016 Main, its staff, its residents, its security, and its amenities! You are definitely in the minority in your complaints. Perhaps you should move.

This is really not a review but more of a query. I am a first time home buyer and have been doing some research on 2016. It seems that while some of the units are cheaper than others the maintenance fee varies greatly. Is the maintenance/HOA fee pre determined and how so? It seems that the reviews are for the most part favorable but could anyone offer some more words of advice and your personal experiences of living in 2016 Main (safety, maintenance, noise, etc)? It would be much appreciated!

Is there an attached parking garage or underground parking garage for the building, where residents don't have to go through the streets to access the building? If we have 2 large SUVs, would we have any problems finding parking spaces in the building's parking garage or are there assigned parking spaces for residents? I have not visited the property because I am really concerned about the neighborhood and the age/condition(?) of the building. I am also concerned that the building seems to be relying solely on the good work of the current management team. Any info is appreciated.

Great Place. Thought twice about living downtown and not feeling safe but I was wrong. Much Security. Thick walls, flooring and ceiling for noise reduction. Sometimes I feel like I am the only one living here. Love the ammenities like dry cleaners, pool fitness center. Also, convienence store in building. May have to consider purchasing a unit.
