I recently moved into my apartment and I'm pleased with it. This location is close to my job and it's very convenient to travel around the city. My rent is reasonable and I got a great move-in deal with a cup of coffee daily!

I don't like to give bad reviews, but after living here for a year and talking with other tenants it's clear that people are constantly complaining, but not posting online. Major issues: Security, Professionalism, Quality, and Cleanliness (roaches). Don't expect complex-wide issues to get fixed quickly. Front doors? Broken for at least a month because management was too cheap to pay for quality work. Garage gate? Broken. The gate between the garage and the complex near my area? Broken the entire time. This would be an easy complex to break into. The pools were shut down for months. If you're someone who wants to deal with honorable businesses, this place isn't for you. Residences 2727 ignored our emails when it suited them. Upon move-out, they charged me an extra $800 of rent due to an ambiguous technicality (whether an email is considered "written notice") and when I confronted them, they told me to take them to court and afterwards ignored me. Issues with your apartment will get fixed quickly. The maintenance crew is very prompt and nice, and it's certainly not their fault the management doesn't want to replace A/C's that break down even in the spring when they're not being used much. Something that simply couldn't be fixed - the air quality. I would ventilate our place several times a week, but each time by the end of the day it would smell stale and mysteriously funky because the air is circulated through large portions of the complex. As a person with allergies it was like every season was pollen season. I moved into a place that has normal air quality and my constant sinus issues are gone. I'm still in the process of moving and I wash everything really well because that smell just permeates everything. It's not totally overpowering - just off and icky enough to be a relief to be rid of. The quality of the apartment itself seems nice at first with updated appliances and granite counter tops, but the "wooden" laminate flooring is bubbling (which we were embarrassed to have a friend discover shortly after move in). We also discovered a nail sticking up in the carpet near the doorway by stepping on it. The caulk in the bathroom is very poorly done and desperately needs redoing. It was hard to constantly ward mold off when its cracked and perforated surface was such a good growing spot. Also, having carpet below the bathroom sink is as weird as it sounds - I did not get used to it like I thought I would. We had issues with the management. For one thing, a staff member entered our apartment when we weren't there without notice or permission (which they are required to give) for something we didn't ask for. That was highly disconcerting and made us feel like the staff did not respect our personal space. Staff members have been rude to both myself and my roommate. They were also directly rude to my roommate when she was concerned about the garage gate being broken for a long time. I have many more complaints, but not nearly enough space to put them. I really wish I had talked to other tenants beforehand. Best of luck with your search!

I recently moved here to be closer to work. I'm glad I chose this community and the West Chase district. The staff are very professional and my transition was handled in a timely manner. I'm very comfortable here.

Upon arrival at Residences 2727 I thought I had found a diamond in the rough. The office staff was very friendly, worked well to get everything taken care of and I got a rent special that allowed me to have a very spacious 2 bedroom 2 bath at a great price. I just wish I could have enjoyed it longer than 6 months. My first night there I started seeing roaches. I reported it to the complex immediately and had guys come out and spray my unit. It never got better, it actually got WAYYY worse. It was a nightmare. I would wake up in the morning with 3/4 roaches on my bathroom wall. I would see them in my closet, room on the carpet, in my blinds, even in the kitchen and living area. I reported this problem quite frequently after it hadn't gotten better in a couple weeks. The apt scheduled I do what they call a "Viper" and detailed and thorough treatment because I knew I had an infestation. As much of a pain as it was I removed all of my things and let them do what they needed to do. Just to find out it didn't work. I lived in a roach nest for 3 MONTHS! I had to shake out my towels and bathrobe before I could put them on after a shower, they would creep into my shower. It was absolutely disgusting and I felt like the office staff didn't take my request as serious as it should've been taken. It literally took for me to write a letter to the CEO of the company to finally get relief. They ended up having to do another Viper to my unit and all surrounding units, above and below me on my floor. After that they change bug companies which significantly reduced the bug problem but NEVER alleviated it completely. The office generously offered me an opportunity to leave my apartment in 2 weeks with no penalty. like really??! who in Houston can find and apartment, go through every inch of there belongings to make sure there are no ROACHES, and get it repacked and moved in 2 short weeks. I suffered through the last month of my lease because by this time it had been 4 1/2 months before I saw a difference. I wouldn't recommend anyone live here. I spoke with others and they had bug issues as well, but I don't know if it was ever as bad as min. It looks great, feels great, but its just too good to be true.

First let me assure you that I am not an angry past resident who would resort to lying on this community. This community sucks!!! They have a serious roach problem, especially since they charge so much rent for two bedrooms. I originally stayed in one apartment and the roaches ran me out of that one. I then switched to another apartment and they were bad there as well. I used their pest control services that did not work. I complained so much that management decided to do a "clean out" of all apartments that did not work. I had a woman who was from Egypt come and clean my house and she told me what to do and finally I saw a drastic reduction in the number of roaches seen. Here is my next problem with this community, management is not responsive to resident complaints. I escalated my complaints to the regional manager and neither the old one (from 2013) nor the new one Sarah Mader bothered to respond, well actually Sarah did take a couple of my calls but after I emailed her the proof that I was correct about the problem I was having she stopped taking and did not return any of my calls. Billing has been a complete fiasco with 2727. After paying above my market rent each month I was billed stating I still owed more money. I won't detail it all but will cut to the worst part. I decided to transfer to a sister property of Allen Harrison properties. After requesting the transfer Gina the property manager of 2727 told me that my September rent had not been paid on September 28, 2014, although I completed the ACH transaction on September 01, 2014. I went and talked to the asst. manager who printed a copy of my accounts ledger that showed I'd paid the rent. I gave Gina the manager a copy of this and she refused it and blocked my transfer to the new property. I called the asst. manager David at the new property very angry although not at him but at the process 2727 was taking me through and thank God for DAVID!!! He actually did his job probably more than his job at not only trying to de-escalate the problem but follow up with me which 2727 refused to do. They then proceeded to charge me late fees and NSF fees. The asst. manager showed me the ACH transaction paperwork I filled out and the notation that it had been completed. So I went to my credit union online and could not see where the transaction had come out. So I told Gina the manager this and then requested that they not charge me late fees or the $100 in NSF fees as they did not make me aware of the problem until 9/28/14. They waived the late fees and charged me the NSF fees, which is crazy because I had no bounced checks from my account and provided them proof of this. At this point I had to pay them so I could get the hell out of this roach infested over priced place. I do not believe this may be a reflection on the management company Allen Harrison but this is ridiculous. When I went to the new property to sign the lease more than 24 hours later the new manager told me she could not continue with the lease signing because 2727 had not released me yet. I had to find the manager Gina from 2727 because she was not at that property but at 1715 Enclave. Dell the asst. manager gave confirmation that I had paid all monies due and was clear. After moving out paying all monies owed Gina was to sorry of a manager to complete my business so I could move the next day. It took us some time to locate her which caused me to sign the lease late in the evening. Well Saturday I moved out of 2727 and by the time we were done, they were closed. I had no one or no place to turn in the key. I recently received communication from them that I still owe $679 after they told me that I had paid all monies due them. This is my biggest problem with them, nothing is ever done correctly or completely. They continue to come back because someone is new, someone is not adept or they just flat out refuse to do their jobs. I like the new properites management team thus far.

My Friends and I decided to complain about our Grill situation and frustration. We want to be able to Grill Burgers for our Kids in a CLEAN GRILL without the bottom catching on fire. Brought this to management and they claim every time they will get it done but nothing gets done. I just wish someone would ck instead of assuming it got done.

I was apprehensive about moving into an apartment when we sold our house, but we are really enjoying Residences 2727. The staff is professional, responsive, friendly and know everyone (and our pets) by name. The other tenants we've met are nice. Can't beat the location - really rare in Houston to be able to WALK to Starbucks, the grocery store (right across the street) and good restaurants. We like that our cars are in a garage and there is plenty of parking. There was a review on here about roaches in the past, but we have never seen even one bug. The building and grounds are beautiful and our apartment has features we didn't expect in an apartment, like dual shower heads, lots of kitchen cabinets and built-in bookcases. We highly recommend Residences 2727!

Love my apartment. Price is crazy high for my space. At first the changes were hard to adapt to ,but im hanging in there . This is my home. At first I had no respect for the nee mangement team. As time had passed I would not want to trade Daniel for the world. Awesome person. Amanda also is a good spirit. You just have to understand with her , business at all times. Nothing wrong with that. I've been here for a long time and can say this, even the maintenance team particularly jhose id a wonderful person. Everything is not perfect, but for the most if it I love it here.
