I moved here in the summer with my partner after touring in January. Since then they have increased their basic fees from $10 to $75 and mid contract, started charging $100 for a second parking spot even though we are two leaseholders and we were told that we'd have two parking spots when we signed our contract. Now we're stuck paying a fee that we did not account for when making our decision to sign here and who knows what other charges they will make up before our contract ends. The only thing that made Crawford better than other apartments downtown was that they were honest and weren’t nickel and diming residents (that’s what older residents said) but that is no longer the case. Everyone is better off going to The Catalyst or 1414 Texas instead.

I would like to document in this email that I spoke with Chrissie the Property Manager, regarding an incident in which our dog Kingsley was hospitalized for ingesting a tremorgenic toxin on 8/26 while walking the sidewalk on La Branch. I recommended she notify all residents, conduct an investigation and provide us with the products used around the building. Chrissie stated "500 Crawford has always been a pet friendly building, but I'm sure if a dog ate one of the plants it wouldn't be good for them." At this time, we request a meeting with the regional director or senior management of your company. Chrissie's response was very unprofessional, demeaning and did not demonstrate empathy for a difficult situation in which our beloved companion nearly died. During our conversation, she became loud, agitated and pointed at me while I remained calm and asked her to do the same. As I left, she shouted at me and kept talking over me to get the last word in. Please respond in writing with the names and contacts of senior leadership or include them on your email response.

Gone Downhill Rising rents as the services and amenities go down the drain. The office staff are largely leasing agents and really just fetch your packages or refer you to the resident portal. Residents are left to figure things out and hope for the best, relying on the courtesy of their neighbors who seem to be increasingly discourteous. The manager, Christal spends most of her time schmoozing future residents and offering deals to get people to sign. Once you have signed the lease you will be seen as an annoyance until it is time to renew. No security just gate attendants that you may find sleeping in their cars but they take pictures of the property every hour so I guess that limits the duration of naps a little. As others have written , often restricted dog breeds are common and residents don’t clean up after their dogs sometimes even when it’s in the hallway or elevator. The pool furniture looks like relics from the titanic as management doesn’t seem to invest in keeping the common areas updated and fresh-looking. Groundskeeping crew tries but are truly swimming upstream. It was nice years ago when there was a manager that actually cared.

At this point in time I feel I need to warn any prospective tenants that we have had several stolen vehicles in the last few months and that complex doesn’t seem to be doing much to make the complex feel safer. After the first few thefts they just sent out an email and mailed the security guard station a couple of times but we’ve been made aware that another vehicle was stolen last night. To top that piece of info off they alert us by email at 6:04pm just as the leasing office has closed. With this in mind I would tell anyone to avoid 500 Crawford for now and look at other places that are safer. This is the least safe complex in the area and we’re always surrounded by loiterers.

I was charged for normal wear and tear .. scratches that you can barley see I can send pics upon request … and 5 dollars for a speck of food in microwave and to replace carpet 500 dollars when I literally had only slept in there…. That’s it nothing crazy at all .. never even had water in that room. They will take advantage of you stay away

Lots of criminal activity at this location. Car vandalism, car thefts, and even apartment break ins! The security lets anyone into the building!!! I would not recommend that anyone lived at this place.

When I give 5 stars as a quiet community, that's not on game night... But if you choose this you already know you are next door to Minute Maid and expect the roar of the crowd. We had an amazing view from 749 you could see into the stadium and a front row to Friday night fireworks! Staff is freaking amazing they knew my name immediately, one of the first games I went to, I had a selfie stick in my purse and had to trash it or take it back, was so awesome to be able to walk across the street and hand it to Ellie in the office, she already knew me by name after only a week and when I came back the next day had it right there waiting for me. They give you carts for your packages which work out great for groceries and the 2 restaurants downstairs are amazing, was so nice to take the elevator to dinner or to a game! They recently put in a dog park by left field, 500 is very animal friendly, will miss everyone the Finger companies are amazing and we definitely stayed with the finger family when moving.

I have been living at 500 Crawford for around 6 months and must echo the comments of others in this forum regarding the excellent staff. Josh, Alex and Crystal in particular are exceptional. The location is amazing, there are two restaurants on-site and Minute Maid is literally across the street. I have experienced minor maintenance issues and they are always taken care of quickly and efficiently. The grounds are kept impeccably clean. The apartments are modern and stylish with true hardwood floors, granite counters, and a wine fridge (my favorite.) The gas stoves are also a major plus for me! Additionally there is a tremendous amount of cabinet space for a one-bedroom. The only area where I gave 500 Crawford a lower rating was for noise. I do not find the apartments to be adequately insulated from ambient noise. For example, when my neighbor's dog barks it sounds as if the animal is inside my apartment-thankfully it is a well-trained animal and my neighbor is very respectful (like many people here at 500 Crawford.) Also the sliding glass doors-which I must say afford a great panoramic view of downtown-do a somewhat mediocre job of absorbing the noise from the garbage trucks, emergency sirens and late-night train whistles blaring from the Union Pacific and light rails on Main Street. So, if you're a light sleeper or have a slightly higher sensitivity to noise these factors may be an issue for you. Otherwise this is an outstanding property and well worth the money.

While I'm considering living here, the things I've heard about the management company itself is keeping me apprehensive. The tour was slightly mediocre but I've had worse. For the cost, I believe some of the surrounding communities might offer more value for the price I'm willing to pay.

I have been living at the property for over 2 years and I absolutely LOVE it. The staff is amazing, especially Josh. He has been there to help since I moved in. (He also leased the apartment to me) Whatever I need he makes it happen and he is soooo sweet! Maintenance is great, the property is always clean and it's close to everything. I definitely recommend this property
