Close theses apartments down please, I swear I'll make a petition to have people sign just to have support on making it happen because theses apartments are TRASH. Just yesterday an 8 year old girl was raped and killed now if that isn't enough to blow your mind then idk what else is. They should burn the ---- down too many people getting killed in one complex and AIDS running through there like water down the drain.

I have lived in Haverstock for 3years and I can honestly say its improved. When I first moved in the apartments somebody got killed at the front gate I was so scared I left for a month. Im from a small city where ive never seen shootings, killings, and dead bodies laying on side walks or in parking lots. I stay to myself im grown and im in my apartment before dark and never come out before day light. A few changes have been made with in the past year its not a 100% improvement but its a start less crime lately. Also better management can improve the complex because they worry about whos visiting who when work orders go without being handled for months!

I moved to Houston in 2008 to go to school. I was about to start my new job in September of 2008 when Hurricane Ike hit. Ike destroyed my place of employment and with no income coming in I had to move out my newly leased apartment. Basically, I was homeless. I did live with a family member which did not pan out and other so-called family members and friends turned their backs on my child and I. We lived in a shelter for three weeks and it was awful! We were housed with rapist, murders and pedophiles. A classmate told me about Haverstock and I came to the leasing office and talked to a manager and got an application. I was called three weeks later saying I was approved to come live there. I had never been on government assistance before and all this was new to me. I am a loner and I do not socialize with anyone here. No one has bothered my daughter and I. Haverstock is much better since 2008. There are no more hang outs and the government has installed new windows, doors and AC units. All this is better than any shelter and I will continue to live here until I can do better. I have a disabled daughter and I can not get any help with her. I do want to work. I am a licensed x-ray technician and all my skills are just going to waste. When you are down and out, you find out quickly who your real friends and family are! Overall, its not a bad place to live. I do not put my daughter and I in any situations that can be avoided.

The purpose of moving onto a hud property such as Haverstock Hills Apts. is to better yourself. Use your time here as a stepping stone, as an advantage to get ahead while paying little to no rent. Not as a permanent way of life. Get on your feet! Get a job, go to school, buy some furniture, purchase a car (with insurance), take a class on how to clean up, learn how to add some stability to your kids lives. Show and prove to your babies that yes we live in the "PROJECTS" but mama/daddy is doing something positive. Crime is everywhere, not just here it can't be avoided. Change your focus, pay attention to what "YOU" need to be doing with your own life, and everything else will become irrelevant. I've exprienced a few problems, but so what! Anywhere you live, you're gonna have issues!

I lived in Haverstock for 19 months. The inside of the apartments or decent considering my rent was free(or nearly free) without being on housing. Haverstock helped me get up on my feet. We had dishwashers and garbage disposals. The unit was a very nice size. I had a full size bed, crib and a bassinet(i kept from my son being a baby) However, they were selling lots of drugs, the people are alays outside, fighting, stealing and doing drugs. The apartments are fairly well compared to what I've seen people pay for. It's the people who live there, sell drugs, do drugs or let their family and friends come over and do it. I never had a problem my section was quiet(probably cause I had 1bedroom)I didnt let my son play outside much unless we were upstairs on balcony. But you must know because you know people don't mean you have to live or act like them. I kept my apartment clean. So some people say they raggedy its most likely cause they tear up they apartments or they listening to loes of other filthy bums. Parking was good, cause 85% of the people dont have cars, they dont work and have nothing to do but watch Maury and do drugs. It's normally never the people on the lease causing problems. No they have onsite police station the grounds were ok (not perfect) because nasty people throw trash down, purposely.

well i was just a person staying in the stock tell something happen out side of the apts and i was wrongly put out my apt about what someone else had something bad to say about what was going on. now me and my small child is looking for a new place to stay after one of the new windows came down on top of my baby head. they did nothing and had nothing to say about what happen but you have to pay for the window. i dont think the staff really care about the safty of the people that has to stay over there. i stayed in these apts for two years and never been in any type of stuff. but they told me i had to move they need to give every one some were else to stay and put them apts to the ground. then start over on the real. they need new staff an every thing else.
