Meanwhile you punish us for parking in the deck without a tag this previous evening. Just so you know…..”
— 3720 W ALABAMA ST · Houston“Do not rent here. I’ve lived in lots of apartments over the years and this was by far the worst experience that I have had. The apartment is ok for the age and price. The building has issues and there is A LOT of noise if you are on the bottom floor. It sounds like the ceiling is going to cave. The neighbors party all night and nothing was ever done. If you don’t want constant noise, look for something else.”
“I lived in the community for a little over a year. While it's a hard location to beat (close to grocery stores, easy to get to highways, etc.), it seems that location is the only thing that keeps people here. Maintenance is easy enough to get taken care of, if they deem it an issue worth fixing. I've had to submit multiple requests to get the same issue looked at repeatedly in the past, but it seems like they eventually get to the root of the issue versus what's cheapest to fix. This included an upstairs neighbor flooding my bathroom. Twice. The amenities seemed passable while touring (with someone who no longer works for the complex, mind you. There seems to be a high turnaround rate for leasing office staff.), but after living here it's clear that these amenities aren't well maintained or really enough of a draw for new residents, as they're really too small to be useful. Be warned that there is dog poop constantly around the complex. Nobody picks it up, and it's been a persistent issue. Parking was ok, there are marked resident spots, though often saw many cars without stickers in those spots. There was an incident while I lived there where multiple people had their cars broken into. If I had to guess, it would be from a gate that is timed to stay open for a long time, and/or pedestrian gates that are often broken and do not fully lock. Upon move out, I was charged for a carpet replacement that was not warranted. After some back and forth with the customer care center (and radio silence from the leasing office), I was left feeling frustrated and yet not surprised. Considering other residents have been charged for the same issue I was while other residents were not charged for the same carpet replacement? I'm very wary of living in any Gables managed building in the future, much less this one. Overall, you're better off spending a little more each month to live elsewhere, and take any overwhelmingly positive reviews with a grain of salt.”

— 3720 W ALABAMA ST · Houston“Overall, happy with living here. There has been some construction along Alabama, but it is moving down the street. The location is great and close proximity to restaurants and shopping. The staff is friendly and easy to deal with.”
— 3720 W ALABAMA ST · Houston“Victoria was so very helpful with the move in process! I had a challenging situation and had to move in quickly. She had all set up when I arrived and I was able to move in within a day of leasing the apartment!”
— 3720 W ALABAMA ST · Houston“Nice apartment in a great location. Elvis was very nice to help me with a large load of move in boxes when he saw I was struggling to load them on my dolly. I appreciated him assisting without hesitation.”
— 3720 W ALABAMA ST · Houston“These apartments are very nice, and the ladies that work in the office are nice and professional. In spite of these positive factors, upper management does not follow through on business matters. My daughter is owed money from this establishment. A refund was promised after a transaction. It's been well over a month, and she still has not received her refund. Of course she has called and emailed. She has received one reply. That was the original response promising a refund. Since that time, emails have been ignored.”
— 3720 W ALABAMA ST · Houston“Victoria has been so helpful since I moved in. I had a couple of issues in the beginning, but she was able to get them addressed and I love my home! It is peaceful and quaint and everyone seems very nice here.”
— 3720 W ALABAMA ST · Houston“My boyfriend and I love it here! It’s quiet, great outdoor space and the people here are very friendly. Great pool area that has lots of seating. Also love the area in general. Close to restaurants, grocery and Galleria!”
— 3720 W ALABAMA ST · Houston“I've been here almost 7 years in June 2020. I love it. It is so centrally located and I love that everything is within a couple mile radius to my job, doctors, shopping and entertainment. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Thank you”
— 3720 W ALABAMA ST · Houston“So far so good - I just moved in and I was favorably impressed with the amenities for the price. Honestly, I looked at several places in the Montrose/Greenway areas, and this complex was the best value.”
— 3720 W ALABAMA ST · Houston“The location and my neighbors are awesome! Great schools nearby and the pool is great! Would like to see a treadmill in the small gym. The new maintenance staff was well needed and glad to have Oscar on board!”
— 3720 W ALABAMA ST · Houston“When deciding whether to move here, I was weary of the reviews warning of theft. I loved the location so I moved here anyway. The staff is wonderful and the location is great. However, my car, along with at least 7 others, were broken into on the same night. We did not have any valuables in our car, so there was no appeal for them to break in. They did it anyway. They cost me hundreds of dollars for nothing. After talking to a fellow resident, he told us that his apartment itself was broken into a couple of months before. We also read reviews that cars have been broken into, and the office manager mentioned that a crime spree occurred about a year and a half ago. This is an ongoing problem and nothing has been done to fix it. There is a "patrol officer and a courtesy officer", but that is useless. We were told that the patrol officer was on duty from 6 to 11. People are still coming home from work and kids are still playing outside. What good is 6 to 11? We were told that the patrol officer does not have a set time and residents told us that if he stays late, it is only till about 3AM. That allows plenty of time for break ins to occur. I, along with at least 7 other residents are out hundreds of dollars, not including lost wages because we have to miss work to file a police report and get our windows fixed. This is absurd. This place is not a cheap place to live. My appliances aren't stellar, my dryer sucks, and I have to share a tiny closet with my fiance. This place is nice, but for the price, I should at least have piece of mind that my home is safe. I understand that crime happens everywhere, but I would like to know that my apartment complex is doing everything they can to prevent incidents like this. I feel taken advantage of and disrespected. Worst of all, I feel unsafe. I did all I could do to prevent this. I did not have valuables in my car and it was locked up. There are also no security cameras in the parking lots. We have a gate, but it is incredibly easy for cars to follow each other in. In fact, the cop that took our report notified us that apartments with more dependable gate, usually ones that require a pass code or a fob to get in AND out, and close immediately after, never have problems in his experience. Now, that may be pretty expensive to spring for, I understand. However, I will not feel safe until this is taken seriously. The LEAST management can do is hire a patrol officer that: 1. Has a set schedule that is during peak crime hours - NOT 6pm-11pm or 6pm - 3am or whatever. If the sun is down and traffic is low, there needs to be a patrol officer. 2. Does not play on their phone / nap in their car. This is useless and dangerous. I loved living here, but until our safety is taken seriously, I cannot recommend anyone move here. This has happened before and it will happen again. I do not want to be told "we're looking into it", "we're doing what we can" or "Crime is everywhere". I want to feel safe in my own home. This is a disgrace.”
— 3720 W ALABAMA ST · Houston“We have just applied to move into the complex. Yvette was so helpful and courteous as she helped us through the application process. The property looked clean and well maintained, and the unit that we saw was exactly what we were looking for.”
— 3720 W ALABAMA ST · Houston“This place is a very good place for thieves. The thefts here are so well organized which is not at all possible without internal tip off. It can happen at any time. Doesn't matter it is evening or morning 10AM. Management doesn't bother about such thing. Last summer there were 10 incidents and this year already 1 break in happened. Security is horrible in this place. A security guy will be roaming around for 6Hrs for 3 or 4 days a week as if rest of the times thieves will be in hibernate state. Management has only 1 excuse. We don't have money for security arrangements. Amenities are okay. But appliances like washer and dryer, dish washer are horrible. Sometimes clothes dry after 2 or 3 runs. Even dishes don't clean properly in 1 cycle. You may have to run it 2 or 3 times for the same dishes. The neighbors are good except few who are very intrusive. They will unnecessarily start taking to you and easily waste 20 /30 minutes of yours/ And will try to get lots of information about you. I will not be surprised if I find that he is involved in the break ins.”
— 3720 W ALABAMA ST · Houston“Great location, quiet but you know who your neighbors are. Grounds over all kept well. Staff very nice. I think the pet area could be improved Maybe w with less branches hanging over which keeps the moisture inbso it doesn’t dry up and pets have a went area to be in. Would be nice to be fenced sonthe dofs could run around a bit too.”
— 3720 W ALABAMA ST · Houston“Great overall. Responsive, communicative staff. Highly professional maintenance crew. Love the valet trash pickup service. Lots of emails letting you know what's going on in the community, closures, etc.,”
— 3720 W ALABAMA ST · Houston“Nice, affordable and spacious apartments in Upper Kirby area. Close to shops, restaurants and night life. Costco, Post office, and LA fitness gym are very near. Close to highway entrance. Front office staff are nice.”
— 3720 W ALABAMA ST · Houston“Security is bigger concern. car is stolen from apartment. bugs are also big challange”
— 3720 W ALABAMA ST · Houston“There is a roach and overall caring problem. Had to call multiple times to get issues with the apartment fixed when I first moved in. They have sprayed 4 times for roaches in my apartment and it does nothing. You have to pay for valet trash even if you are never home to during the pick up hours.”
— 3720 W ALABAMA ST · Houston“Atrocious on all levels; poor service, mold everywhere, out dated appliances, car theft, and apartment theft. If you're considering living here, ask management about the pending lawsuit from current tenants as three were robbed recently.”
