My name is Beverly M Briggs. I moved into Coop city in 1992 Now Iam a retired Veteran with 30 years’ service ,72 years old with several orthopedic disabilities. My concern is the front elevator in garage 7. During the years I have lived in Coop city this elevator has continuously gone out of service. I did not pay much attention to it because in my youth I was able to walk to the back of the garage to the rear elevator . In the last 10 years due to injuries obtained during my military career I am unable to walk long distances or carry heavy objects without experiencing knee and back pain. Each time I enter the garage I experience pain walking to the back of the garage to use the rear elevator. Not only is it painful, but dangerous at night as well as dodging the incoming traffic coming up, the ramp. The front elevator has broken this year alone 2021, March 6, March 9, March 28, June 19, July 8, July 10, Aug 18, Aug 23, Oct 26. It remains out of order until further notice. I called the garage they told me to call management. I have call management, leave a voice mail message, but I have never received a call back. If the back elevator goes out of service, I won’t be able to get to my vehicle. I cannot walk up steps. My question is why can management replace this elevator? It has been malfunctioning since 1992. It seems that management spends more money repairing it. It appears that no one cares about the senior citizens in the community.

I was happy at first. For the past 5 years Coop city has been getting from bad to worse. The halls ways stink and there is no up keep. The washing machines are always broken. I am very disappointed...

My mom lives here. She has had a leak in the bathroom ceiling for about a year now, You have to make an appointment for them to see it, a month later for just scrapping and plaster, then another month to paint. By the time the plaster dries it leaks again and you begin the process all over again because they don't fix things they just put a bandaid on it. Now on top the bathroom ceiling once again leaking, hanging down and debri on toilet, sink and shower. The convectors that supplies heat/ AC got backed up due to no drainage in the basement, flooded her apartment with her new furniture she spent thousands on. The floors are like a waterbed. They had to call an outside plumber to fix the problem in the basement. It took them days to finally get the convector to stop leaking. I drove from New Jersey left work with no pay, helped contain the leak drove to main office and got no help. I cleaned up came back the next day day and it was like I did nothing and also didn't get a call back until the next day and even that was just to collect info from me because the real issue is down stairs in the basement. The apartment is totally unlivable and they expect my elderly mom to wait for them between the hrs of 8am - 4pm in two weeks to see the apartment. No bathroom, no A/C (98 degrees yesterday by the way)and floor tiles sticking up like little pyramids and wet. It is totally unsafe, unhealthy and life threatening. My mother always pays ahead of time, worked all her life and wants to enjoy her retirement chapter of her life, but hey The Riverbay Corporation will get to it on thier time. NOT FAIR AND to add insult to injury they used to pay for the damage due to bad convectors because your not allowed to have in window A/C units. They are forcing people to go thru condo insurance to fix damage and replace lost/ damaged property. Shouldn't that be illegal?

Pros: Location. Cleanliness. Laundry room. Quick elevator rides. Compactor room on every floor. Cons: There is no sound proofing insulation’s between apartments so you can hear everything from neighbors. Advice to landlord: When shareholders move out and apartments are restored, you should think about ways to help deal with sound proofing. Convector covers should be replaced after each shareholder moves out or mold removal/cleaning should be provided to each shareholder upon request.

The walls are paper thin, I have to sleep with ear plugs in order to get adequate rest. Water is cut off often without prior notice due to quote on quote emergency repairs. We don't receive credit on our monthly maintenance fees for this inconvenience. You lose 3 months of maintenance once you decide to move.

Terrible. Live with noisy neighbors who don't work so they stay home all day and kids run jump stomp scream bang yell thump drag furniture ALL day long and the apartments have no soundproofing. It's excessive noise and it overtakes my apt to The point where I can no longer function properly in my apt. Noise emits LOUD into my apt. No peace and quiet enjoyment of my apt. The floors have no underlayment material to help with impact and airborne noise. Management ignore the complaints and if they feel like responding, they act like robots and take sides with the offender as opposed to properly investigating the noise and assisting per the rules in occupancy agreement. No enforcement of rules. They make bias decisions based on their own opinions instead of facts. Even the police does not help. I've found out they even defamed me in their records by stating lies about me. This ordeal has stressed me to the point where I've had anxiety attacks and now take blood pressure meds among other medication for stress related illnesses. My income does not allow me to move elsewhere and they won't grant me a free transfer. I have to pay to move from one unit to another and will be responsible for rent in the old apt for up to 3 months after I move, in addition to rent for the new apt. So I have no way out. Been sitting in the public hallway due to noise because it's unbearable. So, don't move here!
