What makes Le Rivage at 21 West St. so singular who is the staff who works here who are so warm and accommodating. After living here for 17 years, they are almost like family to me! The neighborhood is in a great location bordering the Hudson river with Battery Park city right across the street, close to the financial district and Tribeca, plus Brooklyn and Staten Island are just a stone’s throw away by subway and ferry respectively. Commuting anywhere in NYC is a cinch with the 1,2,3,4, R, and J trains easily accessible, and parks are plentiful in this neighborhood. It is not only an historical part of New York City, but community activities and cultural offerings abound here. The downtown restaurant scene is deep and varied, and with places like the Oculus, the shopping opportunities are amazing this neighborhood has everything without feeling overpopulated.

21 West is a safe clean environment to live, management communication is affective and diligent, community is safe and pretty quiet for also a busy area, plenty transportation near by, plenty banks near by, store located inside the building that have a variety of home stuff to grab real fast as well as good food and beverages. Very nice people who work in store. Excellent environment over all

I was hesitant after reading the google maps reviews, but glad i ended up moving here anyways. Staff is nice and available. Maintenance is responsive. Doormen are great. Gym is good. Having a deli just downstairs is convenient and the guys there are nice too. Common areas are clean.

Great location relative to iconic spots and attractions. A modest look and aesthetics for those seeking to blend in with the community. Plenty of delicious food venues and shopping areas around the neighborhood.

Long term resident. Building services are limited. Location is great. This response needs to be 201 characters long or I cannot proceed with the submit so I am adding this dumb sentence. This is so dumb. How many dumb sentences do I need to add?

Unit 6M Pros: This is a great building to live in and I miss the location, especially the staff! A few of my favorite things about this building: - location, super easy to get anywhere since MTA is so close - the front door men and staff are always so friendly and great to chat with, always welcoming you home, and always letting you know when you have a package - super quiet and never had any issues with noise - dog friendly and great dog parks within walking distance Cons: - noise from street and traffic is sometimes hard to deal with - although it never happened to me, elevators stalled a few times from what I heard - amenities are extra $ and a bit lackluster

Unit 20B Pros: The location is convenient, the front desk and leasing staff are all perfectly nice. The rooms have high ceilings which makes it feel spacious. There is laundry on every floor. Cons: Right next to the turnpike so the traffic can get super loud with all the honking even on a tall floor. Amenities are minimal - small gym, a single outdated "lounge" area, and a "rooftop" but thats really the size of an apartment terrace with a few loungers. The absolute worst is when it comes to renewal time. After one year, my rent went up nearly 9%, and management refused to negotiate or offer any goodwill gesture. Meanwhile, a neighbor in a similar apartment told me their increase was lower and they were able to negotiate it even further down. I also saw the exact same apartment layout listed for less than what I tried to negotiate just a month or two before my renewal. It’s left me wondering whether I’m simply not the preferred tenant profile here, despite always being courteous, considerate, paying on time and meeting all financial requirements. That’s been deeply disappointing and makes me feel undervalued. Advice to landlord: Pay some attention to tenants who actually wants to stay rather than chasing new tenants.

The apartments here have a great all around value for location, layout, spaces, and views from the units. The closet space is great as well and the square footage is optimized by the layout. The kitchen, while somewhat dated, has all new appliances and lots of storage space.
