Pros: The building staff are fantastic. The doormen and porters are incredibly kind and helpful and make a real effort to know the residents. Cons: Constant and ongoing construction as the new owners are converting all studios to one bedrooms when they become available. There is a rodent problem and heat and air conditioning go out often because of pipes bursting. Management company is difficult to get ahold of.

Pros: great location that’s about it . Cons: service is horrendous! Once the management has an issue with you , the tenant’s guest pays the penalty by being ill treated . Tenant’s guests are asked to wait in the freezing cold outside of the premises until tenant comes down and gets them . Advice to landlord: treat people how you would like to be treated .

Unit 1J Pros: Nothing at all Cons: I am deeply disappointed and disgusted with my experience living at Renoir House. What should have been a comfortable home has turned into a nightmare due to a severe mice infestation that the building management has failed to address adequately. From the moment we discovered the mice, we reached out to the building manager and superintendent for assistance. Unfortunately, their response has been shockingly negligent. Despite our repeated pleas for help, they provided us with a mere 10 sticky traps and nothing else. This paltry attempt at pest control is completely ineffective and shows a blatant disregard for the health and safety of the tenants. The infestation has forced us to make significant sacrifices. We have had to get rid of our couch, bed, and over half of our clothes due to contamination by the mice. This is not only an inconvenience but also a major financial burden. Moreover, living in constant fear of encountering mice in our own home is distressing and unacceptable. We reported the situation to 311 in NYC, hoping for some intervention, but the building management continues to do nothing. Their inaction is appalling and highlights a complete lack of responsibility towards their tenants’ well-being. If you are considering renting at Renoir House, I strongly urge you to think twice. The management’s negligence in addressing such a serious issue is inexcusable. Do not put yourself through the misery and health risks we have endured. Look elsewhere for a place to call home, where your safety and comfort are actually prioritized. Advice to landlord: Answer concerns, address pest problems.

Pros: The location is great. Convenient to get anywhere and lots of restaurants, grocery stores, convenience stores, etc. very close. The amenities are nice, doormen are great. Apartment sizes are pretty good. Cons: Management is very slow to respond/unresponsive. It takes several emails/showing up to the leasing office to get a legit response. There is a bug problem that they keep saying they're addressing but has not gotten better. If you live on a low floor, there is a lot of street noise because 63rd street is right off the bridge. Between first year living there and second year living there, our rent went up $1k.

Pros: - Nice doormen + staff - Good location - Decent sized apartments Cons: - no thermostat for temperature control – in the winter it flucuates from sauna-like to freezing. - GOD AWFUL management. Lived here 6 months and managers changed just as many times. Constantly had to follow up about issues in my apartment even after they said they would return my call/circle back etc. Same issues kept cropping up but management was too inept to resolve them. no communication from management about repair works until they were happening/the day before. - there is constant repair work going on and tbh the building is in terrible condition. - ongoing pest problem - roaches + mice Advice to landlord: get better management and fix this goddam building properly for once instead of trying to cut corners.

Pros: Building staff/doormen are very nice Cons: Constant heat outages during the winter time. Cockroach and rodent infestation in the building. Constant flooding issues in people's apartments. Advice to landlord: Fix the building's plumbing so that you don't have constant heat and A/C outages. The landlord, Greystar, knows that the building's plumbing is deficient, but refuses to fix it. As a result, there are constant heat and A/C outages - at least once a month.

Unit 6G Pros: There is literally nothing good to say about this building. It is falling apart and is unsafe. Cons: The Renoir House had a massive fire in October 2021. The building has also had constant issues with flooding in people’s apartments and A/C breakdowns during the summer. The building also has a cockroach infestation and mice. Despite all of these problems, the landlord Greystar thought it was appropriate to raise residents’ rent by over $1000+ per month on lease renewals. Advice to landlord: Give residents a rent discount for the horrors that they have been put through as residents of the Renoir House (fire, flooding, constant A/C breakdowns). The landlord Greystar is a greedy slumlord and is negligent about basic maintenance repairs. Greystar takes advantage of people because they know they can get away with it.
