My favorite parts of the building are it’s location, and the sizes of apartments. The apartments themselves look nice inside. That’s why this review has two stars instead of it’s well deserved one star. This complex is so run down in general. It’s absolute ----. The building has a roach infestation. They’re everywhere, and I mean everywhere. I’ve seen them in the hallways, the compactor room, and even in my apartment (and this was before I even moved anything in!) I’ve been complaining to the management office for months, and they literally don’t care. The receptionist always has an attitude, and doesn’t care about any of the issues the building has. Also, my apartment has a leak in the bathroom, it’s a mess. However, you can clearly see the wall has been fixed several times before I even moved here. Why hasn’t the leak itself been fixed? This building is very backwards. Anyways, I called them about fixing this leak, and my wall, which have been an issue for months. Why did the lady at the management office yell at me and tell me everyone is getting their leaks fixed so I have to wait. Like??? What…? So you’re telling me there is a clear problem in the building. Right.. if there are “so many people” waiting to get leaks fixed, clearly your building is the issue sis. Anyways. Then, one of the trashy people in here wrote graffiti on the hallway walls, and best believe management couldn’t give two shits about that. It’s astonishing to see the poor management of this building and how disgusting my neighbors are here.

Nice apartments, great location, however, the quality of life has been deteriorating for years due to the complete negligence of management. The yards and common areas are filthy and littered with trash, loud and disrespectful people loitering, smoking pot and playing loud music all times of the day and night and neither the management nor the public security does anything about it. They shut down the water without any warning to tenants again and again and when we call they are either put you on hold indefinitely, or some surely person brushes you off. The lock on the main entrance door to the building is permanently broken, when complaining about it they deny it. The place is basically becoming like the worst housing projects in NYC. Stay away unless you enjoy paying top $ for being aggravated.

My girlfriend and I moved into the unit because it was so affordable compared to Manhattan. We have been very pleased. The units are under new management and they seem very responsive, and were understanding during COVID. For the price which includes electricity and water, you can't beat it. The surrounding neighborhood is amazing and feels very rural; but with great views. Food town has great grocery prices and a smaller grocery is right downstairs for quick buys. We rarely eat on the island since food delivery like Home Chef, comes right to our door. Very quiet, safe, and great walking paths. Fun to bike the island or take the bridge to Queens. They now have Citibike. We love the big open field to throw Frisbee and plenty of playgrounds for kids. The tram is a great alternative to get quickly to Manhattan if you work at one of the east side hospitals. Our 8000 BTU window unit works good for a studio and we have Spectrum cable/internet. Have really no complaints and since there is little noise, we see no reason to look for anything in the city where there is constant sirens. Highly recommend the island for family or couples. The laundry room was just upgraded with technology to text you when your cloths are ready, and the community police are right downstairs. Finally, every Saturday there is a farmers market right across the street; I highly recommend the bacon!!

Roosevelt Landings is interesting to say the least...best parts are the HUGE amount of space you get at much cheaper prices than Manhattan. Good views, cute neighborhood, F train stops there, overall ideal. I never had any issues with the heating in the 1 year I lived there. The bathrooms have their own space heaters inside which was clutch. Kitchen had a large fridge and dishwasher. Deep sink. Toilets didn't flush the best. Did constantly smell like weed and cigarettes in the hallways. Mostly quiet, sometimes heard neighbors disputing. My pets loved it- so much space, lots of good walking. Average food in the neighborhood. Hard to get food delivered there. F train during rush hour is a nightmare and you'll have to wait for a couple to come through until you actually get on. Tram is a fun experience as long as tourits are crowding...NYC ferry stops there and is 100% the best. Main building door never locked, laundry rooms are dirty and packed and always have broken machines, and I had a few packages stolen which is why they probably just don't leave them anymore. Management is the downfall of this building. Bunch of cheap greedy landlords waiting for rent-controlled folks to move out or pass away and then renovate and jack up the prices of those units. I had one of those renovated units and it was pretty good, but I feel bad for those who aren't being heard by management. Maintenance was pretty responsive. I overall had good experiences with them considering how many units they had to service. Overall fine NYC living, truly nice to have the quiet of the neighborhood and cheap and spacious units. Sucks that management is the worst. Good for the year of living I got out of it.

DO NOT MOVE IN HERE no matter what. I have never written a negative review for anything in my entire life as I always thought that the people who write those are just spoiled and could never be satisfied even with a five-start service. This is not the case here. The staff are absolutely horrible, especially the woman who works at the Urban Management office. It is mind-boggling that anyone in their right state of mind would hire her. Maintenance guy does nothing and started screaming at me when I requested help with one of the windows. The staff is incredibly rude even for NYC standards. Building hallways are very dirty with trash lying around. Do not expect to have proper cell service in the building. Most residents cannot get phone calls. Package delivery is a nightmare. The building is not at all smoke-free even though it claims to be. Not worth even half the rent. STAY AWAY! They are crying for a class action lawsuit.

I was very excited to move to RI and chose Roosevelt Landings because it was affordable compared to the surrounding luxury apartment buildings. I understand the difference now that I have moved in. First there is no door man and for some reason the residents kept breaking the front door lock, so I would say at least 4 months of the year there was an unlocked front door...and when they fixed the lock it look another 2 weeks to get keys with their solution being "wait for someone to open the door for you". Also, there is no one to accept your packages. UPS and Fed Ex will not leave packages in unsecured areas. Same with USPS packages, and the post office closes at 5 so you can never pick up a package unless you take time off from work. A few residents ruin the building for everyone. There is constant trash in the hallways (I am not exaggerating when I say I found chicken bones one morning in front of my door) and people do not know how to properly throw out trash down the chute and instead there are piles of trash outside the trash room - very unsanitary esp since they don't bother to seal up the bags. The every day staff are super nice, but the office staff are rude and condescending. They "upgraded" the heating system this winter. I have no idea what they installed, but the heat does not work well anymore. Finally the biggest problems are the ventilation system...marijuana is "semi legal" now in that police do not enforce laws. As a result there is a CONSTANT STRONG smell through out the hallway and right into the apartment. I've tried sealing up the apartment door as much as possible with wet towels, foam tape in any cracks, bought all sorts of high end air purifiers - nothing works. It is rather embarrassing going to work with your jacket smelling like pot because whatever they are smoking is that strong. Roosevelt Landings doesn't care about any of these problems. I read the reviews before I moved in and thought it was a few people complaining...not so. It is all true and now I learned my lesson and am waiting for my lease to run out. PS - none of the realtors will tell you this information.

Do not move in unless you are looking for a freezing place in winter. They don't provide proper heating. The heater goes off every hour, and you have to reset it every hour, but there is no way you can reset when you go to bed; which means you sleep in a freezing room. Also the room temperature at the heater meter is not correct. The heater goes off when the temperature is above 72 degrees, but the entire room is not 72 degrees at all! The thermometer must be right next to the heater.

Definitely NOT recommend Roosevelt Landings. I wish I could give negative star to the staff at Roosevelt Landings. It takes them forever to reply an email or a call. It is extremely annoying and will turn your whole life upside down. I was planning to move out by the end of the year due to work relocation. So I called them a few months ago to discuss the situation. The management office told me that I need to find a replacement to take over my lease otherwise I'll still need to pay the rent. So I asked for the pricing information and application requirement so that I can advertise the apartment. There was no reply. I tried to call the office and sent emails to follow up several times. They either said the person who's responsible is on vacation or they're working on it and will get back to me, but then no reply again... Same thing happened when I asked for a landlord reference letter for my new apartment application. I requested it for a few weeks and followed up and followed up. First they said it takes at least 5 business days to process and they can't do anything except click a button in the system to request it. Later when I finally was able to reach them via phone, they said the only person who can sign off the letter is on training for 2 days and I'll need to wait. And there was no reply after that ever. I ended up have to cancel my move-out plan because I couldn't look for a replacement and couldn't apply for new apartment, and had to re-organize things in my life. Not to even mention that the staff are so rude and so impatient. For most of the time that you call them, they would just not picking up the phone and pretend that they're not in the office. They will not reply emails either. If you call enough times and finally get them to pick up the phone, they are just so impatient that they can't even wait you to finish your question and will just hang up. I had very awful experience here and would never ever rent apartment from this landlord company.

Ever since they changed the heating radiators to a fixed controlled thermostat system we are literally freezing in our apartments. We are not able to raise the temperature or heat in the apts They are charging Manhattan market value rents. But fail to provide the proper heating to the tenants. No doorman and no building security. entrance door locks are usually broken. And subpar renovations. They'll do full renovations including new floors and closets in vacant apts to attract potential renters but continue to give excuses to tenents who have been paying rent for years., telling us our old broken dated floors are fine. If you want to freeze during winter months. Move here.

I am a resident for a one-year lease and there isn't a day I spend without complaining about this horrible building. I pay a very high price for the standard of living I get here. Every month they put below my door the bill of 2500 USD but they don't deliver: good maintenance, minimum heating, hot water, clean corridors among other poor services. I have been here for 7 months and praying to finish this nightmare as soon as possible. As additional "perks" the marijuana smell is everywhere, noisy kids, sexual harassment in some areas and constant days without water and excess of cold during a hard winter. If you are considering moving to it, think twice before throwing away your money paying manhattan upper east side standard for less-than-housing-project quality.
