My boyfriend and I have been living at River Place for almost 2 months and it was the best decision we ever made! The building is clean and spacious and the amenities can’t be beat! We couldn’t be more impressed with how kind and helpful the staff were from the moment we walked in the door, always with a smile on their face. What made a huge impact on us was their leasing agent, Brian. A genuinely kind and knowledgeable person that made the whole touring/renting process as easy as could be. Even on our first tour, people living in the building stopped to say hi to him, which really ties into the community feel that River Place has.

Upon reflection, my tenure at RiverPlace has been marked by a series of service challenges. The building itself shows signs of age and lacks proper maintenance. The responsiveness of the management team is notably lacking, with delays spanning days or even weeks to address issues. The steep rent increase of over $600 during lease renewal was unexpected and disconcerting. Persistent maintenance problems have been a recurring theme, including a long-standing dysfunctional air conditioning system and a heater that remained inoperative throughout the winter. Disturbances from neighbors have added to the discomfort, with police involvement over minor incidents like daytime vacuuming. The gym, which charges a $110 monthly fee, has been disappointing with a broken water fountain and slow repairs for equipment. Efforts to obtain a receipt for gym payments have been fruitless, adding to the frustration. When these concerns were raised during lease renewal negotiations, the response was a mere apology and a dismissive suggestion to ‘look at street easy.’ As I prepare to move out, I hope that Silverstein’s management will address these issues for future residents. Not to mention the strong weed smell in the corridor. Despite these drawbacks, I want to acknowledge the commendable efforts of the reception staff, leasing agents, and maintenance team. Their exceptional service stands in stark contrast to the inefficiencies of the unseen office management.

This is the worst place to live In New York City. This building is for old grumpy people. If you are one of these then come here at your own risk, neighbors are toxic and will call the police even if you're talking to your family members on phone, this building is not for young people and The leasing manager, Lisa Kich was suspended because of her wrongdoings and by the way she still in the management team and harassing the tenants if they try to make a complaint. The Rent is up $800 each year. The leasing agents will entice you by showing the rooftop the sunset view( not accessible many times) and the gym for which have to pay extra and would have the most terrible service, even if you're paying a lot already .There are no restaurants or nearby supermarkets. This building is kind of isolated from the main New York City hub. It get really disgusting with the dogs peeing and pooping everywhere, even outside your apartment door. The dogs barking is continues and obnoxious and the building management does nothing about it.There are some serious security issues in the building and strangers can come in the building and harass the tenants whenever they want .There's a reason why people are moving out of this building very quickly. Most people just move out and do not even leave the review because they are so done with this place and mostly the management team members put fake 5 star reviews to increase their rating on Google .I'm just waiting for my lease to end and to move out. It's been just a year and I can't wait to get out of this place. Save yourself some trouble, and find a better place to live.

I moved in a couple months ago and already counting down the days until I can move out. The apartment doors for closets and cabinets are broken. The kitchen and bathroom have to be 20 years old There’s a bug infestation. And the apartment reeks of cigarette smoke that seeps through the walls every night.

AVOID AVOID AVOID !!! WORST MISTAKE OF MY ENTIRE LIFE. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUILDING TO EVEN MY WORST ENEMY. WOULD LITERALLY BE A BETTER OPTION TO SLEEP ON THE STREET IF YOU CAN. Seriously have never regretted something more than I do moving here. Absolutely miserable and stuck in this lease until the end of the year. Have not slept a night since I moved in due to constant noise and smells. Smokers are in abundance here it is almost as if it is one giant ash tray. They literally smoke in the hallways, stairwells. On top of that there are no pet restrictions so dogs just piss and ---- everywhere inside and out and no one cleans it up. The people that live here are so ------- ugly and rude. One of, if not the worst apartment buildings in the city by far.

Will be my last year here, when my lease expires. Strongly suggest you skip this building, for the following reasons: 1) Despite NYS lifting mask mandates, due to the lowest positivity rate in the country., building management announced today that they will 'require' residents to wear them indefinitely. No reason given - just 'because'. 2) This is typical of Riverplace's management. They treat residents like they are custodians of problem children - every other communication is a implicit threat for non-compliance with some policy. 3) This atmosphere, and the general emptying of NYC due to Covid, has pushed vacancy rates to a very high level. However, prices have not come down much. Instead, the building does a quick surfacing 'remodel' of vacant apartments, and prices them the same or higher than pre-Covid. 4) As a result of the diminished revenue from this approach, building services are rapidly degrading. - Garbage rooms are being left uncleaned for days at a time, with refuse piled high. - The laundry rooms are rarely cleaned, and a substantial number of machines don't function - Carpets seem to vaccuumed, maybe, 1x a month - The on-site gym, formerly a bright spot, has no current operator - the last one (Lulufit) was cut due to cost. So basically there are untrained personnel supervising workouts. God help you if you have a heart attack or other medical emergency, cause the folks at that desk can barely work the phones. 5) Riverplaces solution to this, is to open up an additional 47 apartments for Section 8 housing. Which will increase cost pressures on the tenants paying the full frieght rent going forward. This place is spiraling - look elsewhere.

The "head of security" loves to flex his imaginary muscle and make veiled threats to the residents, including those with disabilities. I have complained to management, written surveys and everything else and yet he still harasses my family for nothing other than the fact that my spouse has autism. This place should be fined (oh wait nevermind they are https:// ) in a case against them for violating the American's with Disabilities Act- https:// . Beware of this place until they learn from their mistakes and adjust policies to be fair to all residents.

I am moving in this weekend into River Place I. I am very excited and will share more once I lived there for a while. The place seemed very well maintained, beautiful amenities with regular classes in the building gym. Staff was very friendly and polite. The lease approval and signing process was made very painless and smooth thanks to Brian Love! Brian was very helpful and very quick to respond to my questions and inquiries. I would highly recommend everyone to check out this place if you are in search of an apartment in NYC.

Horrible. Just horrible. Construction noise 24/7 not only from the javiz center but within the building as well!! Every day they rennovate a different apt or common place. Unless you like tje sound of a jack hammer above your head i would stay away! If you work from home beware!! Management doesn't care and won't do anything to help (oh wait they do..they will make u PAY to use the lounge if you need quiet and offer a white noise machine). So many better options around I don't see why you should settle for this building. P.s their response is that they can do whatever they want because it's legal... Don't say you where not warned.

Just moved here 10 days ago and I can't say enough good things about this place. First of all, Brian Love made our whole leasing experience a real breeze and we can't thank him enough for that. He is very friendly, professional, super nice, helpful and was always available (both on phone and email) to answer any questions we had. He made sure we had all our documents ready and complete so that we could get the approvals, sign our lease and get all the paperwork out of the way in just 48 hours time. Due to unforeseen circumstance we had to move a day earlier than the date agreed upon on the lease and Brian spoke with the building management and made sure we had no issues getting the apartment a day early. The experience itself was really stress free and exceptional! As for the building, They've great amenities to begin with at a very low monthly / yearly rate - Doorman, lobby, multiple elevators in both the towers, gym, pool, basketball court, a deck, lounge, laundry room on every floor etc. The property is beautifully maintained and the front desk staff is just great! The apartments are clean and spacious with huge windows that makes sure plenty of natural light comes in and they provide great views of the city/ the Hudson. I was initially a little worried about the distance to the nearest subway( a good 10-15 min walk) as I commute to downtown every day for work. But so far it's not been an issue thanks to the free shuttle buses the building offers. It runs every 20 mins during the rush hours and stops on every major avenue on the 42nd Street. The M42 crosstown bus stops right in front of the building and is also a great way to commute. I've also taken the free ferry buses that run on 42nd Street. So far the commute has not been an issue. There is a Sunac market right down the street that is really convenient. Couple of cafes and restaurants in a 2 minute walking distance and all that HK has to offer is just another few minutes away! I would definitely recommend this place!
