I just moved to a one bedroom at the Vanguard and I couldn't be happier! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The neighborhood is perfect,I can walk to work and I love that Fairway is across the street and Whole Foods and Trader Joe's are a few block's away.

Building staff is great. The parking garage next door are mean, and don't honor building resident discount or courtesy. TERRIBLE management company. Double digit (12%) raise in the last two years each and are jerks about any negotiation. No longer Rose Associates, but Albanese Organization / Chelsea Associates. There is no rooftop, 3rd floor terrace has been under construction the last year with no access to tenants. Better off at any other high-rises in the area.

The landlord is currently undertaking a loud, six-to-seven month long masonry project. The project's incredible noise and vibrations makes our apartment unusable during the day. We are longtime tenants, and the landlord knew about the construction when we were negotiating our lease, but concealed the information to extract a higher rent. (Had we known, we would not have signed the lease and would have looked elsewhere.) I spoke to another, new tenant who negotiated his lease mere days before the construction was to begin and planned to study at home during the day, and he was not informed of the construction either. Other buildings in the area who have inflicted this sort of nuisance upon their tenants have offered a partial rent abatement, but the greedy management of this place holds firm in their view that despite paying thousands of dollars a months in rent, you don't have a right to use your apartment during the day. The terrace, which is advertised as an amenity, has been closed for 14 months. You would be well advised to not move in here, especially before the projected end date of construction in winter 2012.
