Don't rent a studio here. You will hear the elevator EVERY time someone uses it, which will be several hundred times per day. It sounds like an airplane flying by combined with a traincar on metal rails grinding by at high speed. It becomes almost nauseating. As another reviewer has stated, there is little sound insulation between floors. So, I hear every footstep my upstairs neighbor takes. I didn't expect this from a building that purports to be a "luxury" building. I left this individual a nice note, but she seems to not care (sociopath?). I walk very softly out of respect to people below me, but you may not be so lucky! The elevator noises drive me crazy, and I have to leave my apartment to get away from the incessant rushing. The floor even vibrates as they drive by. It only stops around 1am. Maybe the one bedrooms and above don't have this specific issue, but I would seriously think twice before renting a studio here because of the elevator issue. If you put a glass of water on your table, you'll see the ripples from the vibrations. It's that bad. The office says "oh we've never had that complaint before." Give me a break.... Common gaslighting tactic. Anyway- hope this helps you. Some things you truly never know until after you've signed a lease, or until someone has written a review. So I hope this helps you make an informed decision.

I have lived in Tower 31 with my wife for four years and absolutely loved it. The staff is so friendly, genuine, responsive and hardworking and I consider the building itself very clean and safe. I specifically want to call out Jesse, Roosevelt, Shante, Edgar, Lesley and Steve as outstanding staff members of this building. Maintenance people are super responsive and the new Resident Manager Pashko is excellent. Location is very central on 5th Avenue, so you are close to Macy's, the stores on 34th Street, Madison Square Park and the Flat Iron Building. Please note that you are in Midtown Manhattan so you will hear some street noise like sirens, etc. There is a Korean grocery store nearby and Bread and Butter is across the street. Otherwise, Morton WIlliams on Park Avenue and Fairway on 6th Avenue. We have decided to buy so we had to move out. If we could, we would have stayed here forever. Again, having lived here for 4 years we can highly recommend Tower31.

I lived in Tower 31 for over four years (2/12 - 3/16). My time there was extremely enjoyable and if it wasn't for the fact that I had to relocate I would have continued to stay. The building is very modern but still has a warm home like feel. The lobby is very inviting and impressive to anyone who visits. The roof is unmatchable. The staff is very helpful, gracious, and friendly. The leasing office was a pleasure to deal with any always looked for different ways to help and accommodate any and all situations. Location is fantastic with direct access to herald square, the path line, and NY Penn Station. The neighborhood is continuing to grow and evolve. I would definitely recommend Tower 31 to someone who is looking for a midtown rental property with convenient access to all the subway lines.

An incredible place to live! Very comfortable units, well-equipped health club and cozy lounge. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The location is perfect: conveniently located in the midtown area (but far enough from the crowds of Times Square and surroundings), within walking distance from nice neighborhoods as Chelsea, Flatiron District and Gramercy and with multiple subway lines no further than 3 blocks away. Tower 31 is definitely worth a visit.

I enjoyed living in Tower 31. the building is modern, clear and well designed from the lobby to the roof top! the staff is trust worthy, friendly and helpful. The location is the best. it is in the center of the city. it has so many buses and subway lines that will take you wherever that you want to do. this is my favorite rental building after living in NYC for over 20 years!

I've lived here for several years now, ultra convenient location, near most subway lines, easy access to cabs 24/7. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Amenities are good, health club and lounge are kept well. Amazing city views from the roof deck.

I've lived here for past year and I have to say this building is amazing (5 stars) a gem in the madness of midtown. The architecture, entryway and common space of the building are beautiful, the rooftop offers the best view of NYC I've ever seen, the staff are super friendly and helpful and the leasing office are top notch professionals and a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommend Tower 31.

This building looks nice from the outside but was constructed on the cheap. The walls are extremely thin and you can hear everyone above you and to the side. This building should also be called a SMOKING ONLY building because everyone smokes in this building. You can smell cigarettes and smoke 24 hours 7 days a week. AVOID.
