Unit E14 Pros: Lovely architectural details inside our apartment. The size of the bedroom is generous and our unit is on the corner so we get great light in the bedroom. Cons: Our upstairs neighbors are very very loud and due to the construction of the building (1920's) the walls are extremely thin on all sides. Would not recommend if you work from home. Me and my husband have to wear noise cancelling headphones all day and earplugs at night (our neighbors like to stay active above us until well in the early hours of the morning). we also suspect there are mice in the walls although we have never seen any in our apartment. There is also a roach issue and what seems to be a leak starting in the ceiling in our bathroom. Also, we had a small leak in our bathroom faucet and I'm so glad my husband understands how plumbing works because the super was about to remove the entire sink from the wall when all it needed was a new faucet. My husband intervened and fixed the faucet himself. Advice to landlord: hire qualified people to make repairs and ensure they are done properly. Take an active role in ensuring neighbors have rugs laid down to mitigate noise levels and enforce quiet hours....at least between midnight and 5 am during the week. the noise level from yelling and stomping neighbors is almost unbearable.

Pros: Friendly residents Helpful super — when available… Cons: Occasional pests — although pest control visits are 2x/month Laundry room (pro) — near recycling and compost bins (con) Underutilized green space behind the building — could easily be cleaned up and turned into a picnic/bbq area for residence

Pros: - affordable rent - good sized apartments - generally many kind, friendly, and respectful neighbors - friendly maintenance staff - great neighborhood - water pressure is surprisingly strong Cons: - the building's cockroach infestation is out of control. I have seen cockroaches almost daily despite best efforts to clean and regularly lay down poisons and traps in my apartment. Management offers monthly exterminations to units who volunteer unit access, but it clearly is not effective whatsoever. - water temperature fluctuates greatly - lack of sound insulation from traffic on Queens Blvd and 46th street

Pros: No pro, nothing good to say Cons: Impossible to get in touch with them, contact is a PO Box (where rent is paid) and a phone number where nobody ever answered Every time (every year) lease contract is renewed I never receive my copy of the contract. Old kitchen and deplorable bathroom, 30yo ....total refuse to improve Advice to landlord: Don’t hide from tenets

Pros: Common areas kept some what clean on the weekdays Cons: -old building = cockroaches -super could be a bit lazy -mgnt is horrible, unresponsive, threatens you all the time, specifically Ari Advice to landlord: Get off your high pedestal and stop treating you tenants like dirt. Be more accountable and stop threatening tenant by telling them your keeping the security deposit. You need help, you’re a horrible person to deal with inside and out.
