“Pros: Location is great, apartment has a lot of character/charm Cons: Maintenance/upkeep does not seem great, ceiling leaks and damage, warped wood floors, mold in the bathroom, landlord not really responsive Advice to landlord: Take better care of your building”
— 153 AMSTERDAM AVENUE · Manhattan“Unit 9 Pros: beautiful windows, beautiful floors, great neighborhood, easy walk to the park Cons: Maintenance is a little slow & often just puts band-aids on issues rather than actually fixing things. Heat will sometimes come on when it’s 60 degrees out but not when it’s 20 degrees out.”
— 153 AMSTERDAM AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: The location was amazing. Super convenient to everything. The units are cheap. Cons: The management company is extremely unresponsive. The units need a lot of repairs and we’d call the management company to get them to fix it, and they’d mostly ignore us. They would “fix” it each time, but it would never get fixed. Lots of units have submitted a lot of complaints to the Dept of Housing, so before you move in, look online at the complaints and negotiate with the landlord accordingly. Advice to landlord: Fix things properly.”
— 153 AMSTERDAM AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: The location was incredible. The super Scott was mostly helpful. Never had problems with the buzzers or doors. Cons: Had a roach problem for sure. Also packages got stolen pretty frequently.”
— 153 AMSTERDAM AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: You can’t beat the location and the neighbors are very quiet and respectful. Cons: Rude landlord and was not good at fixing things for us.”
