60 EAST 12TH OWNER LLC · avg 3.9 ★★★★★ · New York City
“Unit 2h Pros: Great location, doormen, supers and porters are extremely helpful. Price is ok for the area. Cons: We didn’t have water for 3 days and management just ignored us. Walls are super thin. Advice to landlord: all in all it’s fine”
— 60 EAST 12 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Responsive super Some nice doormen great location Quick elevators Cons: Not very "Neighborhoody" feel Some doormen not so friendly”
— 60 EAST 12 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Amazing location and clean building Cons: Some noise if facing broadway”
— 60 EAST 12 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Apartments nice, convenient location, washer dryer, nice roof Cons: Elevator breaks all the time and you have to walk up flights of stairs, most of the doormen don’t do much, don’t help with luggage’s or carrying packages, management is extremely rude and unhelpful. Rarely responds at all”
“Pros: Location Rooftop Renovated unit Doormen and super are the best Cons: AC just in bedrooms, so the airflow and air is very stuffy Management not great with communication and responsiveness”
— 60 EAST 12 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: The best parts about this building are the location and the wonderful doormen staff. You cant beat the location being in the heart of the Village, and all of the doormen are wonder and very kind people. Cons: The cons are that majority of the current tenants are 20-22 year old students who are somehow able to pay the ridiculous rent costs these days. Parties take place every weekend, and the walls are very thin, so you can hear music and noise quite easily all hours of the night. The noise is not well regulated. The hallways also reek of marijuana smoke during these times, and the smell can even come into the individual units. Ever since the pandemic, this building jacked up rent costs well over 100% of what previous tenants were paying. All of the old-timer residents have since moved out (besides the few who are rent-controlled), and the incoming tenants are just kids who treat the building like a college dorm.”
— 60 EAST 12 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: New renovations look nice (though are a bit cheap). Doormen and staff are nice. Building management responded to everything I needed. Cons: Probably overpriced considering there are zero amenities. Management isn’t forthcoming about construction/renovation/etc”
— 60 EAST 12 STREET · Manhattan“Unit 5J Pros: Big apartments, large kitchens, powerful AC. Cons: One elevator did not work and there was constant maintenance. Advice to landlord: Fix the elevator”
— 60 EAST 12 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Can’t beat the location. Across from Strand Book Store and steps from Union Square. Cons: The management requires you to mail a check. There’s no direct deposit. No blinds on windows, you have to install your own. No window cleaning no matter high you are. Advice to landlord: Modernize your management of buildings and stop ripping people off.”
— 60 EAST 12 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Nice lobby, good apartment layout, good view, nice rooftop. Very quiet neighbors, not the best building if you’re younger but if you want peace and quiet you won’t be disappointed. Cons: Superintendent is creepy and checks out girls/yells at people (very scary man), construction workers entered apartment with no permit/notice and insisted on installing an AC sleeve. Elevators are slow and usually one or both in not working. Advice to landlord: Fire the superintendent and hire someone new. Keep construction noise to a minimum and stop construction workers from hogging the elevators.”
— 60 EAST 12 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Responsive super, excellent door persons Cons: Noisy street and neighborhood”
— 60 EAST 12 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Really nice staff, very few issues Cons: Took a while to get out of date appliances replaced, I had to report issues with my old AC unit multiple times before they were willing to replace it. Walls are thin and noise travels. Advice to landlord: Replace AC units when tenants ask”
— 60 EAST 12 STREET · Manhattan“I love this building! The doormen are amazing, the gym is great, and the building is always kept clean!”
— 60 E 12TH ST · Manhattan“I have heard a lot of celebrities stay in this building. Apparently Matthew Broderick stayed in the building while performing on Broadway. A number of other celebrities have been known to stay in the building for months on end including Stephen Colbert and Ellen Degeneres. They rent out a couple of the furnished units meant for celebrities/VIP who need a place to stay for a few months. My daughter always has her eye out for them! Spectacular building.”
— 60 E 12TH ST · Manhattan“I would like to agree with my two neighbors that most recently posted. We agreed that we would raise the awarness of this amazing building. I live in this building with husband and our daughter. It is a great place to raise a family. Yes it may be on the expensive side, but there is no replacement for a great place to grow up. Everything is exceptionally clean, and the lobby is stunning. Well worth what you pay for! Best area in the city. The new coffee shop next door, The Bean, is also amazing.”
— 60 E 12TH ST · Manhattan“Ive lived in this building with my husband for over a year. It is a glorious building, with absolutely the best doormen. They do charge a lot to live here, but you get what you pay for. AMAZING LOCATION, and a stunning lobby. Extremely clean, and the apartments are immaculate!”
— 60 E 12TH ST · Manhattan“Asbolutely Amazing building. Awesome doormen, and luxury at its finest. Studios in this building usually go for around $2700-$3000, and it is one of the nicer buildings in the city!”
— 60 E 12TH ST · Manhattan“The one bedoom in the B-line apartment faces east so it is quiet but the building is poorly maintained: there is no air flow in the vents, the common areas are not cleaned often enough, there is an ongoing rodent and bug problem, and there is often resistence from the building to fix anything. The doormen are wonderful and the neighborhood is fantastic.”
— 60 E 12TH ST · Manhattan“the doormen are amazing, but the building needs a lot of extermination for mice, rats, and roaches! the services management provides does nothing. the carpets in the hallways are never cleaned, so have a musty old smell. and the windows must be thin because the noise from the garbage trucks every day at 4 am is horrible! also, some of the units are being rented out as furnished quarters, which means there are always new and loud people around.”
