“Unit 3C Pros: Rent controlled Everyone in the building is nice Pets allowed Cons: Roaches Package thief’s in building Outdated Advice to landlord: It would be good to update the building and not just paint everything an ugly shade of yellow”
— 2006 ADAM C POWELL BLVD · Manhattan“Pros: great location; reasonably priced rent Cons: had to have the ceiling in the kitchen and bathroom replaced 4X in 1.5 years due to water damage and mold and mushrooms growing out of the ceiling. Have had mice in the apartments along with roaches. Have significant flooring damage due to water damage. The hot water goes out multiple times a week. The floor in the living room slopes and there are cracks in the walls. The vestibule doesn't have a lock and homeless people tend to stay in there. All these have been reported to the 2 management companies that have owned this building during the 3 years I've lived here and hardly anything has ever been done to fix or mitigate any of these problems. Advice to landlord: this building needs some serious work and has been neglected for years”
— 2006 ADAM C POWELL BLVD · Manhattan“Pros: Garbage collection was always on top top shape! Cons: Better pest control overall for the building Advice to landlord: Get better with tenants and there needs!”
“Pros: The people are nice except the lady in 1A. She argues with everyone. Cons: The super rent his apartment out to make money, doesn’t repair issues in a timely manner and property owner knows. Advice to landlord: Take better care of your tenants especially the elderly.”
— 2006 ADAM C POWELL BLVD · Manhattan“Pros: Never had issues with bugs or pests Super was responsive to things that needed to be addressed Cons: Other tenets were very loud”
— 2006 ADAM C POWELL BLVD · Manhattan“Unit 2E Pros: The porter works hard to keep the garbage at bay and the building as clean as possible. Cons: Management is non responsive. The super doesn’t give any information about what is going on when there are repairs. It’s takes months to get anything done. The heat and hot water go out every 2-3 months for a few days. Advice to landlord: Be responsive to the needs of the tenants. Do better.”
— 2006 ADAM C POWELL BLVD · Manhattan“Pros: Beautiful apartment, good location, Cons: But problem throughout building, very thin walls so you really got to know your neighbors”
— 2006 ADAM C POWELL BLVD · Manhattan“Pros: Location is great. Exposed brick was nice. Cons: Awful, unresponsive, dismissive, misogynistic landlord. Had to break my lease due to a roach infestation that the exterminator said was the worst he’d ever seen. Dealt with leaks by painting over them. Did not fix a completely broken window (as in the window was smashed and glass everywhere) for four months, into the cold winter months. Advice to landlord: Sell all your buildings and never be a landlord again.”
