“Pros: Garbage was always taken out. Cons: There was a horrible mouse infestation, even in the summer Advice to landlord: Go through all the apartments and patch all the holes.”
— 558 WEST 181 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Inexpensive rent (relative to the rest of NYC), close proximity to the 1 train, somewhat newly renovated bathroom and kitchenette Cons: Common areas reek and aren't clean, only one bathroom for a 4-br apt, had mice and management couldn't take care of it - had to get rid of it ourselves.”
— 554 WEST 181 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Fairly cheap rent Cons: Our washer/dryer broke and flooded the apartment leaving mold. Trion refused to admit there was mold, tried to blame my roommates and I, and refused to fix the issue. Overall, Trion does not care about its tenants. I do not recommend renting with them.”
— 554 WEST 181 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Close to the 181st 1 station Cons: The landlord is the absolute worst. Building negligence is an understatement, fire dept had to shut off our water when our washer flooded the apartment. Trion gave minimal response. The apartment is permanently damaged with mold and they refuse to do anything about it. The property management is extremely unprofessional and acts like it's an absolute burden to do basic maintenance, they still haven't fixed power outlets that we put in a request for months ago. The building is disgustingly overpriced for the condition and location it's in. Advice to landlord: Give a shit about your tenants”
“Pros: The apartment is convenient to stores and subway access. Busy street so there are always people around. Cons: My first two years had mice problems. Heat in my room has been hit or miss every winter. The management never gives an exact time for when they will arrive on a given day. I have wasted many days waiting for management to show up. Packages get stolen and delivery people always have a hard time getting in because the buzzer never works. I have had many problems and constant back and forth with management. The caulking around counters was non existent until it caused damage. The washer/dryer unit sits on pieces of wood. Advice to landlord: The apartment has progressively gotten better over the years but it is after years of talking with management to fix things. My hope would be that they can expand their team to help their tenants. Especially because they keep raising rent and did during the pandemic with no aide for anyone who is currently suffering job loss.”
— 558 WEST 181 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Seriously, absolutely nothing. Cons: No hot water, mice, super is non-existent, trash everywhere, and druggies from clinic up the block shoot up in the building. They never answered requests for basic repairs. Advice to landlord: Hire all new people and actually care for your tenants.”
