Cons: the walls in your bedroom are extremely thin and the sound travels through window. the noise is unescapable if you live in studio unit or shares a bedroom wall with your neighbor. you complain it to your management but they won't give a shit won't do anything about it. the doormen are discrimanoty and treat you based on your race.”

— 180 WATER STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Doormen are 24/hours & efficient. Packages are safe. Nice amenities, gym and separate yoga room. Located near trains & the seaport area. Cons: Pool is an extra cost.. should be free and included in the amenities. Management can be difficult, rooftop should be open year round. Expensive, poor construction. Dishwasher leaked a few times and caused the (cheaply made) floors to buckle. Management will try and take a portion of security deposit, make sure you are present when someone is doing a walk-through before you move. Advice to landlord: Don't charge for pool; keep amenities open”

— 180 WATER STREET · Manhattan“Pros: The building is very clean with great amenities: pool, gym, rooftop common areas. The staff in the lobby are very friendly and do a greet job. Cons: The studio I rented faced the inner 'courtyard', and got absolutely zero light. The layout is a small box, and is very depressing with flourescent lighting and no natural light coming from the one window.”
— 180 WATER STREET · Manhattan“Unit 215 Pros: The doormen are fantastic — always friendly and willing to help. Never had an issue with pests in five years. Pretty lenient on security deposit and quick return. Cons: Noise levels are insane, management is a nightmare. I was locked into a very low Covid rate when the market was at its height and they would not even consider letting me out of the lease despite terrible personal circumstances requiring me to move. Construction nearby made it impossible to work from home. After four years they offered me a 1200 dollar rent increase.”
— 180 WATER STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Never had issues in regards to pests, responsiveness, cleanliness Cons: Mail room is closed Sundays so you cannot access until Monday”

The front desk and staff were all courteous and responsive. One of the best values in the neighborhood! Cons: There was a mysterious ticking noise coming from the ceiling of my building that would come and go. The management came to check it out but never figured out the cause.”

— 180 WATER STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Modern building with amenities and gym Cons: Hit or miss but I had a neighbouring unit that would host parties from 2am until seemingly 6am. Ownership was rarely responsive to complaints Advice to landlord: Respond more attentively to loud tenants. They're driving the residents that you do want, away.”

— 180 WATER STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Apartments are huge and clean (brand new because the building was renovated in 2017 - I was the first tenant in my apartment and got brand new everything), concierge staff is AMAZING, the lobby always has a good clean smell because they clean frequently, the common areas are really spacious and well taken care of, the gym is REALLY GOOD for an apartment building, the VIEWS are so amazing, the maintenance staff is amazing and SO QUICK. This place is super close to so much (and especially so many amazing restaurants). The building would always throw resident events in the clubhouse and they were always so much fun. Cons: Management is slow to respond and sometimes just ignores messages. I was one of the original tenants in this building (always in good standing) and tried to downsize when one of my roommates moved out due to Covid. There were apartments available, metroloft just didn’t get back to me on available apartments in a timely manner (literally gave them 5 weeks). Eventually I had to just call it and pursue someplace else to live. Really sad to leave, I loved living here. Management should have tried to keep me especially because I was paying at a premium. Now most of my floor has moved out (presumably due to similar issues). Advice to landlord: Know that you already have some good tenants - maybe you should try and retain people just as much as you try to get new tenants. Sending email updates is not hard and shouldn’t take so long (even transparency along the lines of “I will get back to you soon” would be better than no response).”
