“Pros: My neighbors are pretty good. Rent is okay , mainly if you've been here for over 20 years Cons: Rats get in everywhere Mold Leaks from roof and old piping Management doesn't like to make r actual repairs, just patch work. Hallways are painted prison colors Elevators need to be replaced but again patch work Garage is leaky and terribly maintained Rats Roaches Laundry machines are not cleaned regularly R cracks walls from water damage Security is lacking Advice to landlord: Take away the prison colors Hire security that actually works Make needed repairrs and not patchwork”
— 1720 BEDFORD AVENUE · Brooklyn“Unit 21J Pros: Big apartment, cheap Cons: a roach crawled up my leg at my dinner table, a woman threw up on me in the elevator, ceiling collapsed in bathroom, no hot water”
— 1720 BEDFORD AVENUE · Brooklyn“Unit 13K Pros: Rent Stabilitize , close to trains , schools, and shopping Cons: It’s dirty, maintenance is poor, you can’t get maintenance to do a proper job when you call them to fix or replace anything in your apartment. Management don’t help when you call to complain. There is a lot of fire hazard, for example people with balcony over crowd there balcony . Elevator is always broken . Advice to landlord: Take of the building and have better workers repair things or change it.”
“Pros: The apartment itself was newly renovated and very big Cons: The building was almost always dirty and elevators smell bad”
— 1720 BEDFORD AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Long-time residents and even the guys hanging out front were pretty nice. Cons: Temp 100, have to open windows in winter, roaches bad Advice to landlord: exterminator every week”
— 1720 BEDFORD AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: The place has Big apartments Cons: Drug deal right outside your door”
— 1720 BEDFORD AVENUE · Brooklyn“Unit 19c Pros: Cheap, great location, has good views, has nice neighbors, and very responsive management. Cons: Trash room could be cleaner. People always leave their trash in the room and that bothers me.”
— 1720 BEDFORD AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Rent was affordable and neighbors were very nice; big laundry room in the basement Cons: Elevators were frequently broken, violence in and around the courtyard, and recurrent issues with pests Advice to landlord: Do a better job turning over apartments. My apartment was filthy when I moved in; trash still in drawers, paint in all the outlets, blocked trains, etc...”
— 1720 BEDFORD AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: You’re able to get to several places easy because it is close to things such as manhattan Cons: There is not enough security and they need better maintenance”
— 1720 BEDFORD AVENUE · Brooklyn“Unit 22D Pros: There are lots of multi generation families in the building, so very kind old people and kids often in the elevators. Lovely community vibe and TONS of space in the apartments Cons: Generally not taken care of- there are often weird smells in the halls or elevators. Packages get stolen often. Elevators break down regularly. Advice to landlord: Fully upgrade the elevators!! It’s a safety hazard to have 22 floors full of old people and not be able to get to them.”
— 1720 BEDFORD AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: A lot of space Cons: Water and electricity always shuts off Advice to landlord: A”
— 1720 BEDFORD AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Great proximity to Prospect Park, I had an amazing view being on the 21st floor. I lived here with friends and it was incredibly affordable especially for the amount of space and storage we had. Cons: The elevator was broken frequently (there are 3 and sometimes 2 would be broken at the same time) and I have had to climb 21 flights of stairs to get back to my unit because I didn't have 30 minutes to wait for the elevator amongst all the other tenants. Advice to landlord: Please fix the elevators”
— 1720 BEDFORD AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Apartment interiors are nice and well-structured Cons: The entire building is huge and overwhelming, often the elevators don't work”
— 1720 BEDFORD AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: I love how big each unit is, thats what makes these apartments gems in nyc. The price is good for the space you get. My unit is renovated and my kitchen is the most beautiful I’ve ever seen in Brooklyn for what I’m paying. Also the heat in the winter is unmatched, it’s also so warm. The new laundry in the basement is also great. Cons: Overall the building itself isn’t very nice and it’s not as clean as I’d like it to be. There’s so many of us living there so I feel like there needs to be more cleaning overall and some beautification that needs to be done. The landlord isn’t very nice either, I’ve had some weird things happen while living there and he didn’t really care. Also when I first moved in my unit was infested with roaches but this was mostly due to the pervious tenant not calling the exterminator. Since then I’ve been able to eliminate the roach problem. Advice to landlord: Building restoration needed”
— 1720 BEDFORD AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Nothing is good Cons: Elevator are always broke No hot water majority of the time Staircase are always dirty with piss and garage Advice to landlord: Hire people who can clean and don’t sit around”
— 1720 BEDFORD AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: location, rent, utilities Cons: neighborhood isn’t the safest, roach problem”
— 1720 BEDFORD AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Neighbors can be nice. Apartment is a decent size. Cons: Management does not have adequate staff to function for this building and the others in Ebbets Field. No weekend or holiday maintenance. Security does nothing about loud music or parting outside. Management takes their time dealing with issues. The building is not maintained well, staircases are awful and smelly. Elevators always brake down. They also charge a fee to have an AC. Advice to landlord: Put money into a full staff and actually fixes to the buildings like the elevators. Actually care about the people that live in these buildings.”
— 1720 BEDFORD AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Heat, water, garbage removal. Laundry room in the building. Cons: Noisy neighbors, chaotic over the summer. Fireworks that may hit your windows around the fourth of July, so you wont get sleep. Tons of roaches and mice! Some apartments have bedbugs as I have seen pest control here on many occasions and have heard from other neighbors. The building is just so huge overall. At one point only 1/4 elevators were working and we had to walk up the stairs. Note this building has 25 floors. Also there is a lack of security in the building , i have seen jehova whitnesses, homeless people etc”
— 1720 BEDFORD AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: At least cheap rent Cons: elevator broken all the time”
— 1720 BEDFORD AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Apt features are nice, water pressure seems good, friendly people. Cons: The elevators could be cleaner”
— 1720 BEDFORD AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: This building has a good location near the park and trains. Cons: They are trying to flip this building one apartment at the time. This place has rent controlled apartments from the 60's when it was built. They are now renovating and charging market rate prices for apartments trying to maximize profit in the building. It is a wild juxtaposition. I saw huge rats in the basement. The doors never close so literally anyone can walk in. I grew up in NYC and i have to say this building is wild. Like fireworks in the main courtyard all night wild. I have never gotten so many citizen notifications that turn out to be MY BUILDING. Cops called often for the courtyard and elevators often breaking down. There are many cool families that are just going about their business but of you are paying over 2k(what they are asking) this building is just too big. It is basically its own neighborhood and management is not responsive. If nothing goes wrong you are fine, but if you have to rely on management you are doomed. Advice to landlord: Don't charge so much, and flip the rental properties into rent to own. Reevaluation from the ground up”
— 1720 BEDFORD AVENUE · Brooklyn“I have been living at the Ebbets Field Apartments for almost years. This amazing complex offers a number of amenities, such as parking lot playgrounds. The location is so centric, near to parks such as the Brooklyn Botanical Garden and Prospects Park, and also it has many shopping centers close to it. The maintenance staff is amazing. The housing complex offers a great value for the money. I live in a 3 bedroom apartment with views of the Manhattan Skyline.”
— 1720 BEDFORD AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Large apartments located near transportation. Light and gas are included. Cons: Extremely dirty with frequent flooding in apartments, problems with rodents. This building is like a overpriced project. With all the crime as well. Advice to landlord: Treat your tenants like they are living human beings. Do not illegally over charge them in rent.”
— 1720 BEDFORD AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: You don't pay for electricity. Rooms are big. Cons: Roaches. No matter what you do they will live with you :) Constant loud music. Not the safest area. Elevators are slow and regularly breaking down. People urinating on stairways and in elevators. Advice to landlord: Do something with a constant loud music.”
— 1720 BEDFORD AVENUE · Brooklyn“In 2018, we rented a 3 Bedroom apartment at Ebbets Field Apartments. My son attends the local elementary school, so the location suits are quite well. So far we have had nothing but pleasant experiences. The neighborhood is quite safe, family-oriented, and there are a lot of parks for the kids to play. The building is clean, there is a 24 hour security, onsite maintenance and porter staff.”
— 1720 BEDFORD AVENUE · Brooklyn“I've actually been here since 1984 off and on. I ONLY moved back because its one of the few buildings that isn't NYCHA that doesn't charge for gas, water and electric. (So far). Yeah there's a lot of nice cosmetic upgrades to the newer apartments, but you have to be careful of mold, leaky plumbing, subpar elevator service, vermin, roaches, just to name a few. The area isn't as bad as it used to be, HOWEVER there's still a bit of crime in the area. Maintenance, while the crew is pretty cool, their work isn't the best. There are only a select few who actually know what they are doing, but I guess for whatever pay they receive, it must be equal to the work that they do. Its not the worst place to live community wise, but management treats this place like an unwanted step child. They treat and keep up Lefferts Gardens, much better than here. If you do decide to rent here, make sure that you don't get stuck with a preferential rent lease, and also make sure they don't get you in with one price and then up it when you go to sign the lease. Also don't be swindled into paying over 3K for rent. I don't know how they are getting away with charging over that here. Do your research.”
