“Pros: Convenient location, close to subways Cons: Management not responsive to maintainence requests”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Unit 12A3 Pros: Close to train stations Building has decent amenities Cons: Amenities are outdated Has pest problems Building has been under renovation for years. Units are old, but still over priced. The ones that are “renovated” are cheaply and quickly done. It’s not actual luxury. Area is almost as bad as time square Advice to landlord: Stop the half-ass band-aid renovations with laminate tiles and crown molding that has cracks in it. Actually invest in the building and stop trying to make a quick buck. Maybe ppl would want to stay longer and pay more?”

Has enough but not every piece of equipment Cons: Be prepared to spray bug spray often. - Roaches are a thing in the building. - water pressure often sucks - water maintenance often, can expect no clean water a few days of the year if on the higher floors - stringent about about mailroom access - not all elevators are operational 24/7 - staff gets annoyed if you take big stuffing the elevatir”

— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Right near subway, amazing management team and you have all amenities in building which is included in rent Cons: The price increase once lease was up was crazy + very loud outside noise if you’re on a lower floor Advice to landlord: Rent increase needs to be fixed”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: You're close to everything transit wise. Being in a central location makes it easy to get around. They also use an app for rent payments. Cons: I think the situation depends if you have roommates or not. I have a crazy roommate which makes life difficult. They also aren't responsive for issues like the laundry room (dryers and washers being down etc). Recently the hot water has been cut off randomly due to numerous pipe issues in the last couple of months.”

— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: It's very central and right over the subway station Cons: The building is showing its age and its residents are primarily students sharing an apartment”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Luxury building, nice amenities, clean Cons: central AC is very weak, the building management are super rude, never accommodating, and extremely bureaucratic. Advice to landlord: Focus on keeping tenants happy”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Beautiful facilities with gym, rooftop, in building laundry, etc. Cons: Bad ventilation within the rooms. Bathroom had no vents causing mold to grow.”

— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Conveniently next to the BDFM Nice lounge and gym Cons: Very thin walls and loud neighbors Rude maintenance workers Advice to landlord: For the price it should feel more like a luxury building”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: amenities - gym, laundry in building, social events, rooftops, lounge area Cons: some floors have a very outdated aesthetic, mustard yellow and old carpets. leaky tubs. if you have a flex room, poor heat/ac control”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Unit 21A3 Pros: Compared to a lot of buildings in the city, this building is pretty good. I've lived here for 2 years and had close to 0 issues with bugs, heat, water. Doormen are all friendly and the security in general is great (they stop people that they don't recognize, ask them where they're going, etc). Package room is organized (haven't had any missing packages)! Super central location with the subway station literally right downstairs. Building has fun events and giveaways for residents here and there. Gym isn't an Equinox but has a good amount of equipment for those who like to workout (I personally loved loved loved the Peloton bikes). Rooftop lounge is a gem, only wish they weren't so strict about who/how many people you could bring up there. Cons: Even though there were close to 0 issues, there were still ~some~ issues (very few) here and there. I came across dirty brown water that ran in my faucet just once, but it went away after about 30 seconds. Heat never had issues. Bugs - I only started to see some drain flies coming out from my shower drain recently, but quickly killed them by pouring boiling water down and they haven't come back since. Building management is a pain if you ever need to contact them, they're super slow. I would recommend going down to the actual management office to talk to them face-to-face if you ever need anything done. However, don't expect to come across David (the property manager) at first visit. He is the ~only~ property manager that works for the ENTIRE building, so as you can imagine: he is often booked or busy. It's difficult to see him without an appointment or waiting really long. I would recommend getting his personal phone number (if he gives it to you) and texting him when you need things. He'll reply much faster. Besides building management, the area/neighborhood of this building is SUPER loud. Beware. Constant honking, screaming, bottles breaking, and sirens 24/7. Literally 24/7. But it is a nice reminder that you are indeed living in the best city in the world. Laundry room is sometimes a little annoying and can be hard to find working machines, but it gets the job done. It's expensive, but that's what you get for living in the middle of the city and for convenience. It's $3.50 for a wash, and $3.25 for a dry as of Oct 2023. Advice to landlord: Please hire more Davids (property managers) so that residents can get their questions answered and problems solved faster!”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Lovely lounge with great views of the city Cons: Busy area which is hard to feel truly relaxed Advice to landlord: N/a”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Convenient access to subway lines and ktown Cons: Management is not good at responding to emails and barely does anything with phone calls”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Repare of appliances was always fast Cons: The space felt tight Advice to landlord: Always keep AC on lowest temp during summer”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Doorman, package room, in building laundry, roof, gym Cons: Surrounding area Flexed apt”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Honestly, this was a great first year building. The ammedities are awesome, doormen are super nice, area is super cool. I did like this place Cons: It is just expensive & small. Saw a couple cockroaches but nothing serious.”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: The common areas were kept clean. Neighbors were quiet. The walls/floors seemed fairly thick, so noise did not spread. Cons: Pest control could be slow to respond at times. Some neighbors were nosy. Loud dogs.”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: location! easy access to everywhere subways lines are 10steps outside of the building Cons: loud at night even if you live on the top floor”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: • location • doorman • mail room Cons: • water pressure • management Advice to landlord: renovation and check your email”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Very convenient location. Walls are thick, so you don't hear your neighbors. The renovated apartments are very nice and clean. Maintenance comes quickly, and all doormen and maintenance workers are great. Package room is good, and the gym and lounge are clean and nice. My unit has never had a problem with pests. Cons: Management is extremely unresponsive when you're getting a lease or adding a roommate. The laundry room is often busy, and even though it's new, a lot of the machines don't work.”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Good location good amenities Cons: Hell management office Advice to landlord: Change the management team”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Unit 12C Pros: Good new amenities. Friendly doorman. Functioning elevators. Prime location. Cons: Roommates. Entire apartment was rooms made of flex walls. Key card did not work half the time. Management office is impossible to deal with. Management office is very inefficient and unprofessional. Trying to negotiate rent was a nightmare. Price for what was originally a 1 bedroom was far too high. Responsiveness of management office is low. Constantly ignored by management. Left after a couple months. Not worth the headache. Advice to landlord: Replace the management office. Hire a new 3rd party.”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Convenient, fast elevators, safe. Amazon lockers. Cons: Roaches, responsiveness of management and terminators. Very young crowd.”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Great location and amenities Cons: Small apartment space”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Unit 25c6 Pros: - convenience: on the same block as empire state, right next to k-town and all the retail stores!! everything and everywhere is just 15mins away. subway stations right downstairs - easy acces to every train: NQRWBDFM123 and a 8mins walk take you to penn station - lounge has a pretty good social vibe, good view of the city. the building also offers a gym though the equipments are a bit outdated Cons: - noise: you hear sirens and noise from the streets even from the top floor (25th floor) - light expoure: some units are facing the south which means you get tons of sunlight. it's great when you are in the colder months but because the ac/heater is controlled by the building , your room literally turns into a sauna duringthe transition months (sept, oct or may-june) - management not very responsive to emails esp. when it comes to lease renewal/negotiation Advice to landlord: - be more responsive on emails - renovate hallways on each floor”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: The long term doormen and cleaning person are amazing and friendly. Always a pleasure to greet them. The renovated areas look very good and the rooftop has an unbeatable view of the city. Nice sundeck. App to request maintenance that *often* / most of the times comes the next day. Package drop off for FedEx, UPS, USPS in the lobby is very convenient Cons: Management responsiveness and politeness approaching the bare minimum. While moving apartments within the building, with a month notice, they almost left me for 6 days without a place to stay. Overall they’ll be pushing when they need an answer from you and will disappear when you need an answer from them. Big roaches will come out of your sink, from the ventilation and from other hole they find. Maintenance said “you’d be lucky if you see only one a month” Any reconstruction work will take at least 5x times of what they promise, for example the new laundry that was supposed to be only a 2 months project ended up being almost a year leaving the building without laundry and having to use wash&fold service with no reimbursement. And much more… for 4-6K a month. Advice to landlord: Please respect your tenants.”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Good location in the city Cons: Bad pest control”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: The amenities are great, with a lounge, rooftop, gym, and washroom, it's so worth it. The area is central to anything you could need, and lost of shopping opportunities. Cons: I wish the management was more present and considerate. Many times I felt reluctant to reach out. The also greatly increased my lease price upon the chance to renew.”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Safe, clean, elevator, great receptionists. Cons: Management rarely responds to requests and maintenance issues. We had a leak in our bathroom, it took them several hours to come fix. We had to continuously call management.”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Great location, convenient package room/ Amazon lockers, close to transportation, central a/c. Cons: Management entered our apartment without notice or authorization. Per the lease agreement, management is not legally allowed to enter the unit without proper notice or consent unless in case of an emergency (burst pipes, fire, etc). When confronted, an agent of the building said “there was no ill-intent” and that they just wanted to place bug traps/exterminate for bugs. We have never requested for an exterminator nor have we ever seen any pests in our unit. The agent then said he will put a ‘do not enter’ note for our unit in their system. Why would there need to be a note when both parties signed a contract stating management does not have the right to enter unless in case of emergency? It shows management has no regards for the legally binding contract signed by both parties. Management expects us to look past this as they were trying to ‘create a better living for residents’. Management also made an attempt to enter the unit after we moved in. We were home and thankfully the door was latched. That prompted us to get a camera with which we found footage of management entering. Water sometimes turn brown. May last for hours. Expect +1 week wait on repair/ maintenance requests. Very central location, expect a lot of noise throughout the night. A good amount of residents are still in school, will have semi-loud gatherings. Since new management, a/c has not been as cool as previous summer months. Perhaps an attempt to save money. Advice to landlord: If you expect us to sign a contract and abide by it, so should you.”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: There are many free facilities available for the tenants, with additional events curated for the tenants. The management was responsive to emails and are always ready to help. Cons: One thing that I did not like was that it sometimes took a while for maintenance to come, which did get better over time, however, what I did not like was that while you could easily schedule a repair when the repairman would come exactly as not stated clearly as all you could do was state the times they are allowed to come by which meant that sometimes they will come the next day to fix your issues or, they could also come a few weeks later/”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Gym, study lounge, rooftop and amazing Cons: Rooms are decent and overpriced. AC never gets cold enough. Advice to landlord: Modernize air conditioner”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Great amenities, clean all around. Renovated laundry room. Cons: Management took weeks even months to respond to a request. Security deposit hasn’t been given back to me after leaving over a year ago. Until this date i still haven’t received it. Advice to landlord: Give the residents that left the apartments clean and in Pristine condition our deposit back”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Very conveniently located. You have 8 subway lines right next to the building and penn station is a 8ish minute walk away. Lots of grocery store options and lots of food options. Cons: No sense of community, you never really see your neighbors. It's also very loud and touristy outside since it's right next to the empire state building so it doesn't feel very homey. I think it's good if you're a student but bad for long term living. Advice to landlord: Please stop turning the heat/ac off before the weather fully changes.”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Fairly soundproof walls. I don't really hear my neighbors unless someone has their tv on abnormally loud. Nice lounge space and rooftop deck. Nice size studios. Walk in closets. Kitchens have a lot of storage. Great central location. Close to subway entrance. Cons: Pest issues (cockroaches even when you are a clean person) & i heard from various tenants that they had pest issues as well. Terrible rude building management staff. They don't inspect apartments prior to your move-in so be prepared to have to push for things to get fixed. Laundry room is not well maintained - always very dirty. Hallways and elevators are not well maintained - they are always dirty, never vacuumed. Cheaply renovated units - like putting lipstick on a pig. Can't bring alcohol into the lounge space. Young building - annoying young people party in the lounge/rooftop. and are probably the reason alcohol became prohibited. The rent amount is not worth this place. Save your money and sanity. ANYone you ask in the building complains about management. I could go on and on.... Advice to landlord: Lol....this place is terrible. It needs a complete revamp.”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Unit 7C5 Pros: Cheap (at the time) and gave me a place to stay when I needed something on a weeks notice. Gym is good, and mailroom is practical (only if you're name is the one on the package... friend's items and presents have to be under your name). Cons: Management takes FOREVER to respond to any email, call, or meeting. The noise is absolutely horrific. The building is advertised as a luxury building, when the building itself is fine, but the apartments in them air paid dust (at least anything under the 20th floor). The neighborhood is full of tourists and homeless people. Advice to landlord: Please just listen to your tenants more... and with all that you now pay for rent I'm sure you can hire more workers.”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Central location, short commute to everywhere Cons: Unresponsive and unaccommodating management Advice to landlord: Pay more attention to what your tenants are asking for”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Great location in the middle of everything Cons: Management does not care about people Dirty water Cockroaches Advice to landlord: Please show more empathy to your tenants And charge a more reasonable rental price”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Close to everything! Nice doorman and management Cons: I lived in this building for 4 years. I love my own room but I can't say the same thing about other rooms. The wall shin like a paper, you can hear everything from your neighbor's apartment, especially when they have a tv. Weekend nights you'll see party college students hanging out. Advice to landlord: I believe you guys did a wonderful job. The noise thing isn't your fault, its' a construction problem”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: -proximity to transit -great amenities -new hallway finishes -willing to negotiate on renewals Cons: -expensive -heat or AC is often blasting to one side of the spectrum or the other Advice to landlord: Maybe try to value the tenants who have stayed paid up and remain model tenants during the renewal process, but I understand it is a business”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Good central midtown location with elevator and laundry in building. Lived on the 19th floor - no bugs, cockroaches or rats found. Elevators are quick and not that busy even during work rush hour. Doorman and package room Cons: State of apartment is not that modern/renovated. Rent is expensive - I lived in a 1 bedroom flexed into three with no living room.”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: location, has mail room, and new lounge Cons: Old ass building that wasn’t maintained well to begin with and really deteriorated during COVID Advice to landlord: People will see right through the lies of the updated finishes if the ceilings continue to leak”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Gym, rooftop and roofdeck Cons: Cockroaches, lack of pest control, no sun light entering the apartment Advice to landlord: Please do care about the pest problems within the building. Its really difficult to take care of roaches around here. There are simply too many of them.”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Great location with great public transportation near by Cons: Not a quiet neighborhood Advice to landlord: The lobby is way too much nicer than actual units”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: A very central location with KTOWN 2 blocks away Cons: Similar to many other reviewers here where management can be better.”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: I moved here for a few reasons: it’s super convenient. I work between two locations in chelsea and queens and it’s easy to get to both. Laundry in building (although it has been closed for most of my lease here...it has been replaced with discounted wash and fold which is still quite expensive). Roof deck is great. Cons: Wasn’t super thrilled when they showed me the apartment as a 3 bedroom and then surprised me by saying we would have to pay an outside company $3k+ to build the temporary walls to turn a 1 bedroom into a 3 bedroom. Because of these temporary walls, my room doesn’t have heat or AC so I had to take care of that on my own. Walls are very thin. They told me no dogs in the building but I am kept up every single night by a barking dog. Again, laundry has been closed for almost my whole year here so they set up a discounted wash and fold for us which is still pretty expensive. They have called it a “minor inconvenience to make the building even more luxurious” but honestly I just want the laundry room I’m paying for. Constant construction being done on my floor. The room is really expensive for the size, lack of heat and AC, lack of closet. Advice to landlord: Don’t open floors that aren’t done being built yet. Be up front about costs.”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: The good things about living here is simply location. Cons: This building does not offer help for people who got financially hurt with Covid. Which is why a lot of people are moving out. I don’t even know where to start, I don’t like the management because they don’t really care about what people do and even if you complain, there’s nothing done about it. Some of the doorman that are new are very rude and unprofessional, sometimes we would get water bugs Even though our whole house was completely clear that we NEVER leave food out. Neighbors can be really loud to the point where you hear every little detail of phone call conversations. Everyone smokes weed in here but the building management makes it a big deal. The laundry service that they are using which is called Big Apple wash has a lot of complaints and constantly are messing up peoples laundry orders and sometimes people getting other peoples clothes. I had the same laundry service damn is my items and refused to give it back to me and gave me back only $20 for a $70 worth of items they destroyed and when i went to complain to the building they didn’t do anything. I had the elevator smashed into my hand causing bruising and swelling and I told him that I wouldn’t complain or make a report as long as they fix the elevator and they haven’t fixed it and that was six months ago. Terrible circulation and I have seasonal allergies but I never had them so badly until living here. The rent is way too high for just a small bedroom, with very thin walls. The appliances are old and they don’t even have gas stoves they don’t allow dogs but yet they have plenty of dogs walking around the building. The building has admitted to getting people to sneak around and stand around people stories to make sure if they’re smoking in their apartment or not. Which honestly is kind of an invasion of privacy because like I said the walls are so thin that you can hear peoples phone calls just standing in the hallway. You can’t wet the floors because the floors are fake wood and they swell up with water. The kitchens are really small with not much cabinets space The heating system works by the year and by the temperature inside your house which is crazy, because even if I’m freezing cold I can’t turn on the heater because it’ll blow out cold air. Some of the apartments are in a complete shade so you don’t get any sunlight which is why the heating system should not be applied that way. Even in my apartment I can hear my upstairs neighbors conversations. They have sliding doors for the closets and it’s very very annoying because it doesn’t work that well and constantly gets stuck and screws always fall off some of the leasing agents are very very rude, I had a leasing agent come up to me and steal my spot when sitting on the roof and literally look at me as if I was the most disgusting person ever. It made me feel uncomfortable, even to the point where he was even staring at me weeks later not knowing that I was the girl that he was rude to prior. The building has random times they do construction so it gets really loud out of nowhere The elevators are old and they shake a lot which kind of freaky. The rooftop WAS One of the best amenities they have here but after Covid it’s more like a library now and all the amenities you can play with they removed a lot of it. I got complaint on for drinking on the rooftop but meanwhile every single time I go up there there’s constantly people drinking alcohol upstairs. I just do not agree with the management with this building and I don’t agree with most of what the building does. Almost everyone I know who lives here do not really like it and I know plenty of people who are foreigners that move in here thinking it is good just want to move out because they realize how poor management is. If you look online this building does not have good reviews, and it’s mainly because of management I haven’t had enough times to interact with management but I had enough time living here to know the inns and the outs in to see how everything really is. Move here if you’re alone not if your family, you can move here if you I am more of a quiet person and don’t really care about spending that much money because of location. Advice to landlord: You guys need to fix your management skills and Honestly I don’t know what to tell you guys because I’ve been to so many luxury buildings that I’ve never seen a management so poor and unprofessional like this before. This building is not worth the price at all and there are plenty of luxury buildings that cause exactly like this that offer many amenities and have amazing customer service. I am really disappointed because when I first moved in here I really liked it but then I saw how you guys really are and I see how you guys treat other tenants here too and it just shows me that you guys care about your money more than you guys care about the quality of life of your tenants Your priority isn’t the tenants your priority is money and you need to focus on your priorities. You guys need to do better checks on doorman and teach them that they need to be nicer to their residence and you need to educate them on the residents that are allowed to have pets and that do live here. You should not allow any of the doorman to argue with a tenant especially when the tenant is saying that they do live here. You guys need to train your doormen to respect the tenants that live here, at the end of the day we’re paying to live here not them. Also the next time somebody complains you you and tells you that you need to fix something in your building that has cause harm to someone then FIX IT Or else next time you have a lawsuit on your hands, Regardless of how long this building has been here there is no reason why the elevators are closing doors on people and why people are getting hurt from them. I also don’t wanna hear a response of you guys saying that it never happen because I am one of the people that actually got hurt and threaten you guys with a lawsuit if you guys didn’t fix it and you guys haven’t. I’m not gonna do anything but if it’s slams on me again, then I will have no choice but to ”
— 50 WEST 34TH STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Convenient, accessible to all, staffs are helpful & kind; beautiful seasonal lobby decor, huge package room, keyless doorknob, lots of laundry / dryer unit in 3rd floor, elegant glass -window lounge on the 25th flr overlooking manhattan especially night views, safe for only tenant has access to the bldg; intercom in the unit, 24 hrs concierge , 6 elevators, monthly exterminator checks, indoor gym , free yoga session 2x a day on spring/ summer; free monthly activities for tenant. Cons: Since the bldg is located at 6th ave / 34th street & across Macys noise level are LOUD, especially if ambulance / fire trucks passes by; thin wall you can hear other tenant when they played loud music / laughing loud/ partying. The air circulation is not that good, I lived in a studio unit only have 2 windows; poor ventilation. I always have post nasal drip or seasonal allergies. Thou during Covid 19 pandemic last year 2020 the mgt are very vigilant in cleaning the elevators & surroundings ; keep poster around the wall to remind tenants to wear mask, practice social distancing; always wash hands. Laundry area are sometimes so dirty tenants just leave downy sheets on the floor even there is a big trash container. Yearly rent increase, its too expensive with such a small space. Good to live , if your workplace are nearby you can walk; or if your parents can help out pay half of the rent :) Advice to landlord: No yearly rent increase, rent stabilization please. If tenant pays rent on time on the first year lease, the tenant should be given a choice to renew semi- annually on the succeeding year.”
