“Pros: Loved Post Towers, great doormen, super/managment, location. No pests. Just an awesome building Cons: Sometimes the neighbors were super loud and/or would complain about us being loud after 8pm. They would bang on the walls lol”
— 71 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Pros: - AMAZING SUPER! Roberto is the best! - super fast maintenance help and I feel like all my issues have been taken seriously and dealt with QUICKLY! - ability to flex and my unit still has a window in each room and apartment still feels spacious! - rent increase was fair (I believe mine was around 5%) - laundry machines just all got replaced this year (2025) which is awesome - gym and the roof are great amenities! - proximity to trains (4,5, R,W, and 1) and West side highway rocks - proximity to whole foods Cons: - there is one specific doorman who can be a bit rude from time to time, but the rest of them are so sweet! - I’m in an interior facing unit so natural light isn’t the best, but my apartment is super quiet, so just a bit of a trade off there… - I had one singular roach, one time, in my apartment (I have been living here for almost two years) BUT it was addressed incredibly quickly and exterminator said it was likely one that came through the drains after seeing photos of the bug…. I haven’t seen another one again (my other neighbors I know haven’t seen anything at all and some have lived here for 7+ years) so if anything it shows how seriously they take pest control! And honestly those are my biggest issues…. I am so lucky to live in this building!!! Advice to landlord: I love living here - keep it up!”
— 71 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Pros: enjoyed my time here. dorormen nice and chill Cons: didn't like manaagmeent Advice to landlord: be more friendly”
“Unit 10L Pros: The super is great, property management solid from our experience, the doormen are solid for the most part. Lived here for 5 years and left for personal reasons -- we received our security deposit back in full, which is a rarity I've found in New York? I would recommend Post Towers, enjoyed my experience here. Cons: Construction took forever on the roof for unknown reasons. The elevators can be a bit annoying if one is shut down.”
— 71 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Pros: No problems at all Cons: Thin walls inside the unit (but thick walls between units), also toilet flushing is very loud”
— 71 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Pros: -Doormen are so sweet! - close to so many metro stations -water pressure and water heat was great! - maintenance responds within 24hrs Cons: - kitchen + bathrooms were a bit dated but cant think of anything negative! great place to live!”
— 71 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Unit 8E Pros: I’ve been here for about eight years and have moved within the building as well. The super and doorman are nice and friendly. The area is safe and it’s so nice to be close to the water. Cons: Some of the people in the building are rude and entitled. While I have not had any incidents, a neighbor had an interaction with a woman in the laundry room spewing racist comments at her. Management didn’t do anything because she’s the wife of someone connected to the owners of the building or something. The leasing manager is misogynistic and I am one of many female tenants who’ve had this type of experience. Advice to landlord: New leasing manager”
— 71 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Unit 5R Pros: - Decent gym area, just added stairclimbers, more weights, and updated the lighting - allows flex walls - quick response to maintenance requests - no pest issues Cons: - window/wall insulation needs to be improved - roof area has no furniture Advice to landlord: invest in a real squat rack for gym, get furniture for roof, and give common areas a deep clean”
— 71 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Responsive and Proactive Building Management, Doormen/alobby Service Cleanliness, Laundry Room, Gym, Rooftop Cons: Insulation, A/C costs Advice to landlord: Improve window insulation”

— 71 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Management is responsive. Gym and laundry in building. Cons: Laundry could be updated. Advice to landlord: Invest in better laundry machines.”
— 71 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Unit 6S Pros: Doormen are all wonderful, A/C and heat are good, lots of space. Cons: Fitness Center doesn't get maintained enough, shower drains can be iffy even after snaking.”
— 71 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Very responsive super - however handy men are clueless about bathroom issues (toilet problems, bathroom drain clogs, door hinge sweaking) Amazing apartment gym open until midnight Great doormen High ceilings on some floors and amazing sunlight through large windows Very safe and quiet surrounding area Cons: Gym equipment is never repaired Rolly Polly / pill bug issues at times Loud toilet flush”
— 71 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Super friendly and helpful staff, lobby is always clean, no pest issues, spacious living and up to date appliances, roof top views Cons: Could have better rooftop furniture”
— 71 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Large units, tall ceilings, ample light, gym, elevator, doormen Cons: Needs updates in community spaces. Rooftop has potential to be really nice, but it’s always a mess. Hallways are dark and dirty looking. Advice to landlord: Spend some money on updates”
— 71 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Pros: The building is clean, well kept, quiet, and a lovely place to live Cons: No real cons- we had one leak but management handled it in a timely manner”
— 71 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Pros: It was quiet and good location Cons: Management was not very helpful”
— 71 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Close to trains, quiet, super is amazing Cons: Rooftop could have better furniture Advice to landlord: Loved living here”
— 71 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Pros: The best door men, friendly & welcoming Great amenities Washer / dryer in unit Nice appliances Rooftop views Close to Hudson River for running Cons: Location wasn’t great Ceilings leaked during hurricane ida”

— 71 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Love living here. Perfect location, staff, friendly neighbors, spacious Cons: Building management is hard to get a hold of Advice to landlord: Answer your phone/emails!”
— 71 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Quiet, close to all transportation, convenient. Cons: Laundry machines damaged a lot of my clothes, rooftop isn’t actually finished.”
— 71 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Pros: This is a fairly cheaper alternative in luxury residential buildings with a very, very friendly and caring doormen, supper, and repair staff. It has the benefits of efficiency, space, and convenience of living in a luxury building at a slightly lower price point. Large laundry room and gym, and very responsive maintenance team. The building is well maintained so issues of this kind are very limited. In the last year they have been investing more and more at upgrading the building. - Although unrelated to management, location is great in a very quiet street (unless the apartment faces West St), with a police station in the corner for security, and close proximity to basically every subway station, stores and grocery options, and bars and restaurants. Cons: The leasing office manager is very difficult to deal with, but once you are past the leasing and contract signing stage, you will have limited to null interactions with them. The building is on the older side with under average amenities for luxury buildings. It is clear that the interiors are worn out, although they remain in the well maintained range. There is rooftop access but it is not developed as a lounging area (No outdoor furniture other than a couple of rusty and broken abandoned lounge chairs). There is no lounge Room, but a small old office. The steam room is okay, but the sauna doesn’t really work (never worked for 5 years, at least the men sauna). The bike room is next to the rooftop, 2 flights up the stairs. Advice to landlord: Definitely a friendlier leasing office person would be great. The benefits of rooftop furniture as a value add to the building exceed the investment costs. Wood maintenance in the lobby can make a significant appearance improvement for a cheap investment. A sauna technician can add a sauna back into the amenities list.”
— 71 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Pros: High ceilings, good door staff downstairs Cons: Windows facing into Marriott Advice to landlord: Make it easier to upgrade from a 1-2 bedroom”
