“Pros: Friendly doormen, large space for cost with updated kitchen and bathroom. Electricity is included in rent and nice views of the city Cons: The elevators are a disaster, making it impossible to go up and down. They tried replacing them but everything is still broken and you have different elevators operated by different button systems. Tried restricting access to certain floors by blocking the buttons but it isn’t working. Management is difficult to work with”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Great value and has everything you need. Cons: Heat system sometimes isn’t great Advice to landlord: Work on heating”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: - very affordable and spacious -great doormen -allows flex walls -pet friendly Cons: -old building and really slow elevators”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Large apartments for cheap but be prepared for problems Cons: HORRIBLE PEST PROBLEMS! There are roaches and bugs of all kinds running around in the hallways and they could not get rid of them, they kept coming in to the apartment. They are everywhere. Maintenance staff were lovely and tried to fix it but seems like a building issue. Water got shut off for the whole day once a week or so. Trash sits in the trash rooms on every floor because the chute is broken and they only pick it up once a day.”
“Pros: great location, reasonably sized apartments Cons: long waiting time to get any repairs done, pest problem”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Walls are sturdy and block noise Cons: Constant renovation, scaffolding”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Unit 17F Pros: Great view, big apartments close to cool spots Cons: It's old, half the people are rent control holdovers and you're paying market rate. Maintenance and cleanliness is lacking. The hotel to the south is used to house homeless and migrants Advice to landlord: Improve cleaning”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Electric/gas utilities included, we were allowed us to build a temporary wall (i.e. create flex 2-bedroom), friendly doormen and maintenance, massive saltwater aquarium in the lobby, relatively quiet for being in Hell's Kitchen Cons: One of the elevators would frequently be down Advice to landlord: None, thank you!”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Unit 4E Pros: Doorman, Elevators, Gym Cons: Pests, water down too often, elevators down too often, heat isn’t controlled”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Front door staff are all super friendly and great! My apartment had great natural light. The apartment size is large for the cost / what you get in manhattan. Cons: 1 of 3 elevators is almost always down, sometimes 2 at a time. Water shut downs are frequent and the water will come out brown after they shut it off. Management is not always reasonable - they'll charge you for small things but not provide any rent reduction when services like the dryers and gas are shut off for months. I also suspect there is some sort of bad air or water in this building. I developed digestion issues while living here, but every time I leave my health issues resolve themselves and returns when I'm back in this building. My roommate did not experience this so I'm not saying it's definitely caused by this building, but after living here 3 years and experiencing the same patterns, it's highly probable.”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Nice to have a doorman Cons: Elevators frequently breaking Cockroaches Bedroom was always freezing in the winter”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: The amenities are great and the doorman is really friendly. The pool table and lounge area can be occupied even after the time it's open for which is great for hosting friends Cons: The trash chute was broken for a couple days causing a little pileup in the trash room but besides that it's all pretty good”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Unit 26F Pros: The building is safe, the staff is friendly, and the maintenance is extremely quick! Cons: Honestly, I do not have any aside from the fact that sometimes one elevator is down but it is generally up and running quickly the next day.”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Apartment unit size is relatively big compared to other apartments in the area at similar prices. Water, electricity, and heat are all included, which makes the apartment really great value for what you are paying. Cons: Elevator can be incredibly slow. Found cockroaches in apartment because a hole was not patched properly in our kitchen”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Unit 30B Pros: The building staff are really nice! Cons: There are cockroach’s constantly after the rain. The gas did not work for 6+ months and was impossible to do laundry. Terrible and would not choose to live here again and would advise other people against it.”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: I liked that it was quiet, even though you're off of 10th, and the views are amazing Cons: Some times it took forever to get a package because they were so busy, the stoves stopped working and they didn't have a solutions for a long time”

— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: It was the nicest apartment I’ve lived in and if you’re looking for a place in Hell’s Kitchen I highly recommend. Also we had a massive balcony which was amazing. Cons: The location wasn’t my preference, but again if you’re looking for something in that area I had no complaints. Advice to landlord: None!”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: - doorman is great - clean - responsive maintenance - lots of space - friendly neighbors Cons: - DRYER HAS BEEN BROKEN SINCE NOV 2022 - roaches on first and second floor - kinda overpriced - bit far from subway”

— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Unit 24k Pros: - Well maintained apartments - Responsive super - Well staffed apartment (e.g. doormen, weekly exterminator, daily cleaner) - Respectful tenants/neighbors - Cheap in-building gym - Free Electric Cons: - Elevators breakdown frequently - Dryers in-building have not been functional for 6+ months Advice to landlord: Fix the laundry room!”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Great newly renovated apartment with great amenities. Cons: Gas went off for 10 months and dryers were off in the building.”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Large apartments. Friendly staff. Great views. Cons: Gas has been out for a couple of months now. There are rarely 3 elevators working. There are water shutoffs nearly every month.”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: nice space, very thick floors, quiet, quickly replace broken kitchen appliances Cons: Elevators out of order frequently, doormen don't open door, smoke, bugs”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Unit 25K Pros: Great central location and manhattan views Cons: Had to fight like hell to get security deposit back, management is centralized to only one woman who goes for weeks without responding to emails or calls Advice to landlord: Decentralize management, don't put everything on one person”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: - clean - laundry in building - package room Cons: - only 3 elevators (often at least 1 not functioning) Advice to landlord: Elevators need some updating for better functionality”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: It’s a great building with awesome staff and nice tenants! Cons: The only downside is there’s 3 elevators and one always seems to be out of order. The heat they turn on in the winter too can sometimes be overbearing”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Great laundry room, fresh painted walls for move in. Great water. Awesome front desk and security for packages. Cons: They blast the heat in the winter, you have to keep the windows open so all you hear is people on the street YELLING and traffic. Also, elevators are always out but honestly kind of funny Advice to landlord: LET DOGS IN THE COURTYARD!!!!! All people do out there is smoke cigs. Not a great neighborhood at night so this is NECESSARY”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Large and spacious Cons: The elevators don’t always work”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: It has decent space Cons: It is hard to clean thoroughly Advice to landlord: Disagree with spiked increase on longtime tenants”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: great views balcony laundry in building Cons: elevators often breakdown Advice to landlord: none”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Renovated apartments, beautiful views Cons: TERRIBLE elevators. Got stuck twice. Waited hours for an elevator and I was on the top floors. Advice to landlord: Please fix elevators”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Spacious apt, updated appliances, beautiful view, great location, laundry room, doormen and safe. Apt repairs were submitted and completed in timely manner. Cons: Elevators would break down constantly. Once there was a fire in the building and no fire alarms went off, which was very scary. Construction for renovated apts was going on all the time, which was extremely noisy and quiet hours weren’t always adhered to. Advice to landlord: Warn nearby tenants of internal construction noise, length of time, hours, etc. Have those elevators permanently updated and fixed!”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Whole Foods around the block but that’s about it. Cons: Escorts live in this building and they drag violent folks with them who kicked in the door several times. On the top floor there is an older woman with a drug addicted daughter who lets homeless people or other junkies crash in the staircase. Happened several times and landlord did nothing against such a huge issue . Other than that the bridge next to it is super loud and create a lot of smog. Advice to landlord: Keep it clean.”
— 1079 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: The staff always went above and beyond to be helpful. Reasonable rent increase the first year (2%) and they gave 10% off during COVID months Cons: At any given time, 1 of the 3 elevators is probably down. A few times they were ALL down and I had to walk up the stairs. Thankfully I wasn’t too high up but I can’t imagine what people 30+ floors do - I guess you wait. Advice to landlord: Miss you guys!”
