— 2001 MORRIS AVENUE · Bronx“Pros: A lot of travel ways such as subway and buses that are nearby Cons: It’s hard to tell with them about fixing what needs to be fixed Advice to landlord: Make your residents feel more comfortable and safe and show some respect”
— 20 EAST 179 STREET · Bronx“Pros: The building recently underwent a renovation project—repairing bathroom and kitchen appliances, adding smoke and CO2 detectors, tightening windows. There have also been newly installed entrance doors and mailboxes. The entrances door are now more secure and the mailboxes can be accessed without mail people entering the actual building. Cons: The laundry room is poorly ventilated and it becomes hot easily when the dryers are on—there are only 3 washing machines and 2 dryers. It is also very for roaches to causally enter your apartment through the front door and rats scurry around the trash room. During the winters, there is lack of heating via radiators and hot water. Outside of the building, residents smoke. If your room faces the ground area, it fills up with the fumes. Advice to landlord: Please put up a “no smoking sign” to prevent or at least penalize individuals contributing to second hand smoke around the immediate apartment building. Find a way to budget for exterminators at least monthly in the trash and around the halls. Create a better ventilation system for the laundry room—this is especially important during the pandemic, even if everyone entering the laundry room wears a mask (because not everyone does).”
