“Pros: Building is always clean and tidy Cons: I didn’t know handyman/maintenance guy is allowed to go inside tenants units freely as they like. Advice to landlord: We need more security cameras”
— 130 FLUSHING AVENUE · Brooklyn“Unit 5th floor Pros: Tenants are great Cons: Monadnock property management, located in both 7 Clermont and 45 Clermont, is unresponsive when it comes to taking care of their tenants' needs. Elevators are always broken and take weeks to get fixed. A flood started in the building, causing damage in most apartments. The laundry room is always dirty or the machines are not working. There are floods in stairwells, electrical issues, and a broken second door in the entrance, making it easy for people to access. Packages are stolen, and the property manager talks about tenants' personal issues to other tenants. Property management doesn't follow up on maintenance work at all. I'm on the 5th floor and had water damage, and I'm fed up with how they maintain the buildings. Advice to landlord: Remove property management”
— 130 FLUSHING AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Nice area Building is clean (havent seen any roaches, mice etc) Tenants try to work together on problems Cons: Current management, Mondanock, is unresponsive and seems to be going by their own set of building policies that have not been shared with tenants (for example: apartment transfers - they have been renting out apartments to people they know rather than the tenants of the building who were on the apartment transfer list with the prior management company) Building cannot keep staff (super, porter) due to the demands and micromanaging of the current management company. The prior super was with the building for over 10 years and porter about 8 years until Mondanock took over the building and property management. Now staff changes and are not very friendly to tenants (which could be beneficial since the building has a high percentage of tenants who have been in the building for a decade or more). Advice to landlord: have monthly tenant meetings like you said you would in January 2023 when you took over, listen to your tenants, stop trying to evict tenants so that you can raise rent prices (its better to have good tenants than raise prices and not know what kind of tenant you will get), stop referring tenants in this building to your East NY properties if they have been residing in this building and can transfer to an available apartment”
“Pros: The super and porter staff members have always kept the building very clean. I have never had rodent or insect concerns. Cons: Prior and current landlord and property management is a BIG concern. One was non responsive and the other interacts and speaks to tenants like we're scum. Im sure no one is getting paid extra to be mean/rude, so maybe be kind.”
— 130 FLUSHING AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Clean building Quiet place Cons: lacks of communication with C&C management Advice to landlord: Answer on timing not months after calls and voicemails”
