ROCKROSE DEVELOPMENT · avg 4.4 ★★★★★ · New York City
“Unit 1445 Pros: Front desk and building staff are friendly and proactive, with very responsive maintenance service. Multiple rooftop areas offering diverse views. Solid apartment choice with no major deal-breaking issues. Practical, well-designed floor plans. Well-equipped fitness center with both strength and cardio areas. Refrigerator capacity larger than Enclave near Columbia University but slightly smaller than Jackson Park in Queens Plaza. Kitchen comes with a gas stove. Rockrose leasing office is right downstairs, making lease discussions and paperwork very convenient. Short walk to multiple LIC subway stations and surrounded by plenty of amenities including Trader Joe’s, Teso, Foodcellar, and City Acres. No extra amenity fees required. Cons: A/C unit can be loud and sometimes struggles with airflow, making the room feel warm even when cooling. No swimming pool (though few buildings in LIC offer one, so this is understandable). Elevators in the west tower run very fast to serve higher floors but can feel slightly unsteady. The 39th-floor rooftop seems to have no Wi-Fi, and outlets on the 2nd-floor lounge are limited with occasional odors from nearby restrooms. Maybe there isn’t a clearly designated public area ideal for focused work or study.”

— 43-25 HUNTER STREET · Queens“Pros: location, unit receives lots of light, responsive maintenance, renter friendly Cons: some neighbors can be loud”
“Pros: Great sound proofing Cons: Owner slow to response”
— 43-25 HUNTER STREET · Queens“Pros: water pressure is solid. Cons: Thief activity, stealing food and deliveries from doors. and staff does not want to get involved or help. Advice to landlord: get rid of criminals”
— 43-25 HUNTER STREET · Queens“Pros: Responsible front desk sometimes seven too strict that you cannot bring people outside to use the gym. They check if the gym user lives in the building daily. Cons: Construction site to the east 2023 summer”
— 43-25 HUNTER STREET · Queens“Pros: Alot of amenities like a gym, yoga room, basketball court, and outdoor spaces. Kind and helpful doormen and maintnance staff Cons: There isn't much of a sense of community with neighbors”
— 43-25 HUNTER STREET · Queens“Pros: Clean, tons of amenities not too loud from the trains Cons: Had an issue when first moving in where they didn’t have our keys ready but otherwise smooth sailing”
— 43-25 HUNTER STREET · Queens“Pros: All the amenity spaces are great. Cons: Management first and foremost. For every issue I had they made me feel as if I was at fault. Every solution required them to warn me that I may be charged for simple repairs. For the amount of rent I paid the service could be better. Advice to landlord: Fire your management staff.”
— 43-25 HUNTER STREET · Queens“Pros: New building, good management Cons: Appliances have bad quality; They charge you for minor wear and tear when you leave. Advice to landlord: Upgrade on appliances”
— 43-25 HUNTER STREET · Queens“Pros: Building staff is fantastic. They’re so friendly & helpful — porters, front desk, super, etc. Building is well-maintained, constantly clean; repairs happen quickly. Several neighbors we know have been here for years & are also friendly. Rent stabilized across the board (& also has lottery units, if folks qualify for that). Cons: We can hear our neighbors in the hallway sometimes if people stand out there to chat. For the East Tower (facing westward): A building just went up adoras the street (same management), which now replaces the sunlight & view of Manhattan with an inside view of people’s homes. Advice to landlord: Take care of your building staff. Across the board, they really are great at what they do & make this building far better than just the physical building & amenities.”
— 43-25 HUNTER STREET · Queens“Pros: Maintenance super quick & responsive. Heat/AC working well. Water good. Cons: Sometimes a ~5min wait for elevators, especially around dinner time. Parking is doable but watch out, film crew film in this area often and will block off parking for whole blocks. Balconies also not that useful, wind gust warnings happen often enough that you won’t want to keep stuff on the balcony. Advice to landlord: Awesome staff! Front desk & maintenance are awesome!”
— 43-25 HUNTER STREET · Queens“Pros: Doormen are fantastic! Maintenance people are quite prompt and actually solve the issues. Building is newer and the rooms look great. Cons: NOT SAFE. Absolutely NO COVID-19 precautions are enforced. They have the "masks are required" signs up for show, but they're not actually required - no one enforced it. People routinely walk around the lobby and public spaces, use the elevators, collect their packages, etc with no masks on. No one is around to make sure elevators aren't being crowded. I've seen leasing agents walk by residents not wearing masks, WAVE HELLO, and walk past. I've seen management hold open elevator doors and wave more residents to come into the elevator. I am seriously considering withholding rent because I don't feel safe here. There are people with COVID in this building that get nyc provided food while they're in quarantine. They probably got it because nothing is enforced here. People in leasing office are mediocre to outright rude. They'll be nice though until you sign the lease. Despite so many of the amenities we are paying for being closed or running on very limited hours, you can rest assured they are still charging full rent, no concessions. Did I mention there are too many residents in this building walking around with no masks on and throwing parties? Advice to landlord: COVID-19 is a serious health crisis and you need to treat it as such by actually enforcing state mandated safety measures. Literally nothing is enforced here and you are in violation of the terms in our lease agreement by not ensuring a safe place to live.”
— 43-25 HUNTER STREET · Queens“Pros: Nice apartments. Great views. Terrific and responsive staff. Excellent location near multiple subways. Good amenities. Cons: Expensive! Building is excellent but it’s costly. There are probably better deals. Advice to landlord: Could have offered some rebates when many amenities were shut due to Covid. The person talking about no Covid precautions is a lunatic. It’s a total lie.”
