VENTURA IN MANHATTAN, INC. · avg 4.4 ★★★★★ · New York City
“Pros: - roof is lovely - so much natural light in unit - large apt - big gym - amazing staff Cons: The rent keeps increasing by nearly 10%”
— 240 EAST 86 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Amazing doormen, very good sound insulation, dog friendly, nice gym and VERY nice rooftop Cons: Rent increases significantly each year”
— 240 EAST 86 STREET · Manhattan“Unit 22A Pros: Washer/dryer in the apartment. His and hers sink. Cons: We had bugs CONSTANTLY in the apartment. That's what you get living on top of Fairway, even though we weren't on the Fairway side. Advice to landlord: Deal with the bugs.”
— 240 EAST 86 STREET · Manhattan“Unit 10A Pros: Our apartment is incredibly spacious and bright, with the subway, groceries, and shopping at our fingertips. Any problems get handled day-of by management. Our lease renewal came with a <1% rent increase when rents in the city are insane. Honestly blown away by how positive an experience Ventura has been! Cons: Turning the A/C on over the summer makes for some relatively expensive electric bills and insulation is as you'd expect for floor to ceiling windows.”
“Pros: Brand new, beautiful apartment Amazing water pressure Staff are great Cons: The roof is shoddy, and not very usable (grills are also electric, not gas) Elevators frequently break”
— 240 EAST 86 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: the doormen and building staff are the best thing about this building. Cons: the building has gone downhill as the rest prices went up. The owners gauge their renters with over priced rent increases and little compromise. it’s their way or. no way. plus the elevators are constantly broken and the amenities are run down and due to covid are very limited. better off renting in a related managed building then here. Advice to landlord: give management back to related and listen to their advice. also be more flexible and aim to keep your tenants instead of gauging them for a extra couple of bucks”
— 240 EAST 86 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Great location, wonderful staff-I miss living here! Cons: Rent prices way too high even for luxury building in a nice area. During pandemic management was unwilling to negotiate even a freeze in rent...so we left and now they have a ton of vacancies! I miss living there but couldn’t abide by over 4K for a one bedroom. Advice to landlord: Be a bit more flexible with rent freezes! You lose good residents for drawing an unnecessary hard line.”
