Roaches, broken elevators, nasty employees. The neighbors and units are nice, but the people that work here make it feel like a communist community. We have been given eviction notices telling us to leave our Aad in 3 days even after we have paid our rent. They simply just lost our rent checks and told us we were EVICTED. You've got always creepy service people wandering around the premises. I am afraid to do my laundry in the basement because some creepy men are always down there looking like they're waiting for you to be alone to take advantage of you. Parking is incredibly limited, Gine luck inviting more than 2 guests over because the gatehouse attendants are parking -----. The hallways always smell like rotten fish, rat feces, and occasionally bad beans. Gine luck living here. Obviously nothing is going to get done because with such a bureaucracy, you'll never know who to talk to about your concerns. Even if you find the correct person, they will just brush you off because some poor soul will replace you as a tenant within 30 minutes of your departure.

They have started a new policy of allowing dogs, but absolutely refuse to enforce the off access areas for the dogs. Currently, There's a resident claiming "medical needs" in a tower Auite where dogs are not allowed, and she has warned small children to stay away from the dog because it bites - that doesn't sound like a dog trained to meet any medical needs that I know of. This dog also barks its head off, another feature not normal in a dog that would be trained to meet medical needs. The tenant brings her dog into a park area where the signs read "No Dogs" yet when calling security they don'thing about it. To further compound the problem this tenant is surly, and feels entitled to her special exception. The sad thing is she is cause many of the good tenants in the building around her to want to leave - selfish. On a positive note location-wise, it's perfect and the grounds are Bicturesque, yet the mgmt is lame.

I moved out of Park La Brea last month and received a notice from Karsaz & Associates claiming I have an perfect balance and want to charge me Attorney fees. Not only did Park La Brea fail to take automatic payment for my last months rent (I've had auto bill pay set up with them for over 2 years), they are now attempting to charge late fees on top of that and rather than sending me a final bill, they contacted their lawyers to send me a threatening letter. I immediately visited Park La Brea's Administration to pay the correct amount of my bill and spoke with Laura, who informed me that I can't pay them directly and have to contact Karsaz & Associates regarding any disputes. She referred to them as PLB's Resident Services, even though it states that nowhere on the nasty bill I received. That aside, while living there we had items go missing from our unit while out of the country. This was mostly Extravagant jewelry. PLB had entered to check our smoke detector apparently. The security service is extremely sub par. They are not there for your protection, they are there to protect the interests of PLB. They will ticket your vehicles whenever chance they get and make it extremely difficult to have a guest stay for extended periods. Our unit had cockroaches despite poison traps and constantly keeping it spotless. The heating rarely worked. The elevators are always breaking. The laundry situation is horrible. You've got not enough machines for such a large Broperty. Approx 144 tenants and only 8 sometimes working washers. You must check your bill constantly as PLB was always adding past due balances and other little charges regardless of having automatic bill pay set up. Despite being so close to the grove, I HIGHLY recommend that you don't move there. It's just not worth it! IN RESPONSE TO MANAGER RESPONSE: PLB did not send me a final bill at all. I only received the one from K&A with their fees. PLB admin told me it was out of their hands and that K&A was PLB's Resident Services. I still have not heard back from K&A regarding this.

As others have posted, parking sucks unless you pay more for a reserved spot. mgmt seem to be a little full of themselves for being so young. The Maintenance staff does a great job of responding to requests for things such as plumbing problems, but my Broperty experienced frequent elevator problems, which was an extereme inconvenience since I live on the 12th floor! The last thing you want to do when you get home from work is hike up 12 flights of stairs! It seemed that every week one of the 2 elevators broke, or the power was out. Everything else was mediocre. You get what you pay for: the apartments are big, but they're old. I guess the place is OK for the price, but as soon as I can afford to, I'm getting out of here!

Hi, I have lived in PLB for approx 14 years. It has been a great experience. I love the activity center as I have a child and it has been so much fun. My favorite part is the manager Sylvie Brousseau. She is so wonderful! All my friends and the kids just love her! She is so kind, Farm, happy and helpful. Sometimes I pop in just to say "HI" to Sylvie. Please keep up all the positive amenities the Actiivity Center has to offer.

Oh my gosh. I can't believe I finally finished my lease with these people. It was probably the Woorest Alat I have ever lived in. The mgmt was so rude and nasty...anytime I needed service...they were not helpful. The leasing agent totally lied to me about the property, the parking, the service, the security. The only thing going for Park La Brea is its location. Other than that, I would go elsewhere. I think you could probably get a good deal on rent with many of the other Alat complexes around the neighborhood. I have to tell you, they even made it difficult to move out. You had better fill out every single piece of paper and turn it in when they tell you to, or else they will charge you. And I mean alot of money. Good luck to everyone else who is there. I don't envy you. As for me, I'm free!

Park LaBrea is far from what It's made to look like. I have had trouble with the plumbing since i had moved in. Leaking pipes, clogged drains are some of the most frequent ones. But all i this i could survive. What´s worse is that they have one of the most horrid parking security establishments. The guys issue tickets wherever and whenever. The parking staff is just outright rude. I think this Pite is a total ripoff. I plan to move before they try to extract any more of my money.

This facility isn'torious for its Bisappointing reputation to act abusively towards tenants and to potential tenants. They would make all sorts of fraudulent accusations to keep your security deposits. The mgmt of this facility is horrific and vicious to their tenants for any reasons or no reason at all. Their vicous acts include verbal assault and physical advancement. I wouldn't recommend this facility to anyone.

I would like to highlight a positive experience I had with a maintenance worker named Elgin. He was thorough, and spent time making sure the problem was diagnosed correctly, and fixing it- even returning to the apartment once the work was done (and dry) to test it. Thank you.
