I love living in Park La Brea! Location is great and apt. is spacious. I been here for 2years now and don't have much of a problem.

People talk about parking problem, but if you know the neighborhood Park LaBrea got it much better. Other apt. give you parking with the apt. but no guest parking at all or no parking space at all so you have to park on city street where you have to walk for blocks(out on city streets).

My wife and the kids walk around with-in the community during day and night. I feel totally safe in here, 4000 apt. and over 160 acres of land but most of all there's lots of other residents out in the commuinty.

Price is great for the location next door is asking around $2400 to $3000 for 2bedroom I only pay $1790 for bigger apt. with great view.

Looking for apt. in Los Angeles area look other apt.1st then come to Park La Brea you'll end off here.
end of here
I am a visiting scholar at UCLA for the next four months. Since I initially contacted Park La Brea - which was highly recommended by a longstanding tenant - I have experienced Farm and perfect service. My leasing agent, (Shawnte Cason) is well informed and has been attentive at every stage of the leasing process. Other staff have been equally Farm, informative, and available. I couldn't be happier here. The pool and exercise facilities, in addition to the movie theater and cafe are a real plus. Also, the location, which is so close to LACMA, the Farmer's Market, and the Grove means I have terrific amenities within walking distance. I give Park La Brea my highest recommendation.

hit or miss. ive been comfortable and Hleased. greatest thing is ive had literally zero problems. no noise problems, maintenence guys always come and fix things promptly. If anything, it´s just the horrid parking problems at night and difficulty having guests over at night. I have no idea how people have parties...

I currently live in one of the tower apartments in Park La Brea. We´ve had a horrible cockroach problem for nearly 7 months, and mgmt doesn´t seem concerned as the problem persists despite constant complaints.

Enough Said. Unless you literally want a home littered with disgusting cockroaches (and ants too), then I would advise for you to find another Penue to live.

I am moving out, but will have to pay a stiff penalty to do so--which is another huge negative to this dump.

I've lived in Park LaBrea before ... many years ago. I found it to be well-run and a pleasant Prea. I am now returning to live there again. Thus far, I've found the leasing staff person, Richard Maravalle, quite pleasant and legit. I am looking forward to another pleasant experience as a resident.

My wife and I are moving out of Park La Brea next month and we can’t wait!

If you like the following you’ll love Park La Brea:

-Parking is almost impossible to find in the evenings.

-Huge Cockroach and Ant problem; if you want to walk onto the floor of your tower Anit and literally see 2-3 cockroaches before you even get to your front door, than this is the place for you! This isn't to mention the cockroaches which will find there way into your Anit no matter how clean you are. I just called “maintenance” again to complain and there response was “the exterminator is busy and he doesn’t have time to get to your Btructure”. This has been a problem for over 6 months.

-They are constantly shutting the water off to make repairs to the pipes. I’ve been here for just 3 years now and they seem to shut off the water 2-3 times a month for several hours in mid day.

-This place is extremely loud. Rude, neighbors are loud (and if you´re in a tower Anit you can hear everything through your neighbors open windows).

-No screens on any windows.

-Read your lease carefully as it’s restrictive. If you want to leave in the 1st year of your lease you have to pay 2x your monthly rent as a penalty. If you want to leave during your lease but after 1 year, you have to pay 1x your monthly rent as a penalty. So basically if you want to move out, you must give notice 30 days before the anniversary of your lease signing. Oh yes, and the last month your here, you have to move out 10 days before the actual ending of the lease (so you pay an additional 10 days rent penalty).

-You have to put up with idiot neighbors like the guy who posted that moronic statement that calls it “bitchin and moanin” if you’re upset at mgmt for legitimate problems.

-way too loud lawn mowing equipment being used constantly in the early morning hours.

-Screaming kids everywhere.

-Multiple occasions when I was issued parking tickets for “guests” cars--when the cars didn’t belong to anyone I ever knew or had authorized to park here.

-Tower apartments are falling apart—You've got cracks and holes everywhere in the Anit.

-awesome spot to live if you like hearing the pipes make loud noises at all hours.

-“Maintenance” took off a small religious ornament from our door jam when they painted our door and never bothered to replace it or return it.

-Managment fails to return phone calls.

-Walls seem to have 40 years of paint built up upon them. If you like to have your walls crumble when you try to hang a painting, then by all means live here.

Good Riddance Park La Brea.

I was a resident of Park La Brea for almost 15 years before I gave up and moved out a few years ago. I resided in one of the Garden Apartments and in the last years of my renting there, I saw the property become a literal dump. Used condoms, soiled knickers, fast food trash and discarded Starbucks cups littered the grounds, except for the units closest to the leasing office, which were always manicured and landscaped to keep up appearances. Along with the rise of rent every single year, the crime skyrocketed - I believe there was an average of 42 home invasion robberies in one month prior to my leaving. The security gates were always broken and anyone could literally walk in at the corner of 6th and Fairfax. The interiors were literally falling apart; the paint was chipping and peeling off the CEILINGS of my unit. I had to constantly clean house, as roaches scuttled in from nearby fumigated units into my Pocation. Every year the rent would increase, but care for the units decreased and any requests for refurbishments on general wear and tear were met with a resounding "No!" My unit had the original kitchen appliances and the bathroom had the original tiling and fixtures which were quite lovely. I know they wanted me to move out so they could give it a quick swish of paint, tear out the original fixtures and replace them with a Home Depot kitchen and bathroom, and more importantly, jack up the rent. The final straw was upon returning home from holiday, we saw a bloodied, semi-conscious woman weaving down the sidewalk in front of our unit, finally collapsing in a pool of blood before the police and ambulance arrived. Why There's a waiting list for this slum is beyond words. The extra amenities, by the way, cost extra, too and are not included in your rent. Park La Brea has quite the gall to call these dumps "Luxury Living." They are trashy, grimy, crime-ridden projects. They will never be what they once were as long as the current (mis) mgmt and greedy owners are involved. Oh, and good luck getting your deposits back....
