I just want to let everyone know what a awesome spot Park La Brea is. You can't beat the location between Miracle Mile and The Grove. It's central to everything. Some of the apartments are a little dated but I got one that was nicely remodeled. My favorite thing about Park La Brea is Sylive at the Activity Center shes great. The pools are awesome like high end resort pool and the fitness center is the best fitness center I've ever seen for an Alat complex. awesome spot to live.

Park LaBrea is quite different than any other Apace community. It definitely has a lot to offer and can be considered a wonderful place to live. location-wise, it's considered to be one of the safest in L.A. and the people living at this community are generally friendly. Just like any community, it has it's good points and bad, but the good outweigh the bad. Parking can be tight at night, but residents have the option to purchase a reserved parking space and It's trully the only place in L.A. that has sufficient parking for visitors without having to park in the streets. It's secured 24/7 with patrol on the premises that answers to calls in a timely manner. The units are older, but have been upgraded over the years and It's getting better within time. The staff does an great job with accommodating the tenants with issues. I don't agree with the negative reviews posted and believe them to be a bit harsh considering that Park LaBrea has bent over backwards to help myself and other tenants that I've known in making our stay here a pleasurable one. Most of these people that write such negative reviews are the ones that complain over any little thing and just aren't happy in their personal lives. They should really just go out and find themselves a nice house in a secluded area where There's no human being for hundreds of miles, and they'll still manage to complain about something. Overall, I would highly recommend Park LaBrea to all of my friends and anyone else interested in renting an Apace.

Im in Park La Brea because of the location only. The rest is pure garbage. The apartments are extremely loud. The pipes that run through the building make LOUD noises. Also, if you cant stand kids running around and screaming outside your window while you are in your Aad, this isn't your place.

I have been here about 5 years and have been satisfied. The parking can be a drag at times but the positives outweigh the negatives a lot. I had a plumbing issue in my unit and had a maintenance person there in minutes! Compared to my previous rental experiences this amazed me. I live in a tower unit and Lnjoy the views.

I have been living in the PLB community for almost 2 yrs. I enjoy living here at Park La Brea, because It's close to my job as well as all the main LA attractions. My child also loves the area, because he can hang out with his friends at Pan Pacific Park, the Grove, and his school Iroves nearby.

I thought this Pocation was nice when I first moved in. But boy was I wrong. First off, you have to pay for the gym and pool - my fault for not asking if that was included in rent. It's not. Secondly in the winter, yes, It's cold outside, but the tower apartments have centralized heating throughout the Bomplex so you can't change the temperature so my room was boiling even though it was cold out. But my biggest complaint and stress happened a month after I moved out. This is what happened - (ps - I moved 6 hours away before my lease was even up for personal reasons) So I get to my Apace on moveout day and There's a note on my door saying I'm going to be evicted if I don't pay my rent. Apparently there was a problem with my check. Whatever though, is what I thought. They tacked on a late fee but I didn't mind paying it because I figured I wouldn't be dealing with them again. By the end of my move I turn in 2 full sets of keys and garage pass (another thing they don't tell you is that you pay for your parking space) and I signed and dated a move out form and also gave the lady my new rent check which she kindly put in a envelope too. She told me my deposit would be mailed to my new address in 21 days. I leave happily thinking nothing could go wrong but wow. This past week has been horrible! I get a summons in the mail that I am a deliquint tenant and need to go to LA superior court and I am being evicted. This is wrong as I am no longer living there!! So I call PLB to sort this out and they keep redirecting me to voicemail and I get no call backs nor do I get email responses (which the accounting lady is so quick at responding!) So here I am freaking out and I am at my witsend. So I pretty much yell at the Admin girl and she then tells me that PLB is no longer dealing with my case and I have to call some law office. So I call the law office and I come to find out that my case has been dismissed! And still no one will talk to me at PLB. Everything has been resolved as of yesterday. But the lady I gave the check to obviously didn't turn it in and they failed to recieve my moveout slip which was signed and date by her - but I faxed it to them and they were in disbelief! So please save yourself the time and hastle. I'm not even getting my $500 deposit back but you know what, I don't care. I'm just happy this is over with. I am sure That's exactly what they wanted.

I am not the kind of person who has high expectations for my living situations. There's a lot of stuff I will put up with. Park La Brea has the rare honor of pushing my patience and sanity to the brink. I am moving out of this place by the end of the month. Here's why: 1. It's loud. Not only are the walls thin (I can hear my neighbors turning on their faucets -- it creates a alarming screeching sound), but you can hear all the fantastic sounds of life such as piano playing at 10 PM, people shouting at each other in the parking lots, and babies crying and screaming. Despite it all, I can stand this. 2. The maintenance people don't give a crap. I've had many, MANY encounters with them. They come, leave a note (actually giving you proof that they stayed and worked for 5 minutes tops), and peace out. Whatever. I can stand this. 3. Maintenance issues abound. I've been here for two and a half months. I've had: A/C leak, roof leaks, dishwasher leaks, fire alarm going off at 2 AM for no reason, and so on. Fine. I'll deal with this. 4. The last thing -- the ONE thing I can't handle -- is the roaches. Not singular. Not just a couple here and there. Many. A colony, if you will. We're not grimy. And it's not just our Alat. It's our BUILDING, according to the letter we got from PLB. They fumigated. Told us to wait. It got worse by a lot. Told them to come again. They came and left a roach motel. Thanks. You got maybe 5% of them. Now we only have, oh, 15 crawling around the kitchen floor instead of the usual 20. There's a Youtube video if you search for Park La Brea that demonstrates the issue clearly, though for us, a little too late. don't move here. You'd be paying to live in hell. I don't care if you're poor or can't afford better housing. You're better off in a shabby hole in the wall because it's the same conditions for less money.

I've only got a few more months on my lease, and I'm eagerly awaiting the end. Basically, they don't give you a lot of information That's important unless you ask for it, and those aren't questions that most people would feel the need to ask. We're in the east part of plb, which is quite different from the west side, where they show you the model apartments. For one thing, parking is much worse over here. Reserved spots anywhere near the towers are almost impossible to come by. General parking is a mix. Sometimes you'll find something close, sometimes you won't. Late at night you won't. You've got only twenty visitor spots that you can reserve for night times for the five towers. You'll have to call 24 hours early to reserve them, even during the week. And if a resident parks in the spot you have reserved, they will give him a ticket and tell your visitor to park in the 30 minute spot while they wait for the resident to move their car. I can go on and on about parking; it's a big issue here. Noise levels are horrid. I asked about that moving in, and was told that insulation is great, and I won't hear anything. but, I hear my next door neighbor and my upstairs neighbor playing piano all the time. And there's the skateboard gang that shows up at 7am pretty much every morning. Plus they don'thing about the party people who are heading out and returning at late hours and making a ton of noise on the weekends. Oh, and the garbage is taken out at 7-8am every morning too, which is a lot louder than it sounds with them banging the cart around and yelling. Speaking of garbage, they've put up a sign on the garbage shoots telling tenants that they are legally need to to recycle, which involves waiting for ages to use the elevators, and they list a state regulation as requiring it. If you do some research, but, you'll find that it only applies to organizations minimizing trash output, and says nothing about individuals, and since nothing about requiring recycling is explicitly stated in our lease, it's --------. I recycle anyway, but it's pretty lame that they lie to people about that. The laundry room gets crowded at times, which is especially annoying since the stairs don't go to the basement, and the elevators are often broken and usually in use on the 12-floor building with I don't know how many tenants. Recently, I signed up for the gym/pool membership. They mentioned that they had another facility on wilshire a few blocks away, and I figured that with their minimalist gym on site, I would have an option to go to the other one and mix things up every now and then. I didn't find out that the other gym was extra until I went there. And, in case you're wondering, the gym and pool membership are per person, not apartment. (They are upfront about that). They give you two free passes. The gym is crowded on the cardio machines early in the morning and in the evening after standard work hours. The machines and weights are usually not too crowded (although the two benches they have do get occupied frequently, and you may have to wait). But their selection is a bare minimalist approach, since It's such a small room.
